US Forces Have Bombed Doctors Without Borders Instead of Taliban

Bombs dropped by the US military have destroyed a Doctors Without Borders hospital, so far 3 are confirmed dead and 30 are missing with 19 doctors injured. The US instigated a bomb strike on the city of Kunduz and continued the bombing for 30 minutes after the facility informed them of their proximity. The US military has not officially responded other than filing it under "collateral damage."

Good fucking job, guys.

War is hell, morality doesn't apply on it.

Hawkeye: "War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse."
Father Mulcahy: "How do you figure that, Hawkeye?"
Hawkeye: "Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?"
Father Mulcahy: "Sinners, I believe."
Hawkeye: "Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them - little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander."

I hold a certain degree of respect for veterans because of the traumatic psychological and physiological impact of military training and combat, also for the fact they missed out on some of the most formative years of their civilian adult lives.

I consider proponents of the war responsible for its impact and soldiers among the victims. If no one volunteered, the draft would be reinstated.

Yeah, the same level of respect I have for that girl that blinded herself because of what she felt she should be, divided by around a million.

Watch the antagonistic tone, this is exactly the kind of post we were recruited to cut down on. In future please give reasons for your opinions in a calm and reasonable manner. Please do not make posts that needlessly antagonise other forum users.

Had you qualified this post with the reasoning behind your opinion rather than what reads as hyperbole then it would have been fine. I'm issuing a formal warning as this comes on the back of a raft of complaints on your conduct here and on deep thoughts, conduct i then defended as you playing devils advocate.

You are free to disagree with others, you are not free to antagonise them into replying.

If you disagree with my decision please make a thread in talk to staff.

I'm sure it wasn't on purpose.
Nah,the us are just the bad evil guys, they all are evil, Taliban is fighting for freedom and human rights.
Jokes aside, this shit happen often in wars, during the Serbian bombings by NATO,a b 2 bomber dropped its entire load on the Chinese embassy.
Sure I sound like it doesn't matter, but it really don't, people die in wars, and as long as there is human beings, people will still kill each other.
I just want to countries to stop hiding behind ideologies and shit, just claim you are there to protect your interests.

Wow this thread has been interesting.
Anyway, an actual update: the UN might end up classifying this as a war crime.

Take of that what you will.

And the blame shifting, responsibility dodging, and fuck-as-catch-can-cover-yo-assery begins.

Ten to one the people actually behind this- The Pentagon- tosses the soldiers that were at the bitter end under the bus. "Operator error", "Read the map wrong", "Faulty judgement". As usual.

Lions lead by donkeys.

Lol the UN is weak, this isn't going to do anything
Unfortunately so.
The UN is powerless and corrupt now. It's sad to accept but they can't do shit. They really can't. I'm honestly surprised they said anything.

The UN is powerless since the Korean war, otherwise, all Soviet and us presidents would be trialed for crimes against humanity.

The only reason the Security Council ok'd Korea was that the Soviets were boycotting the Security Council meetings and so did not exercise their veto.

The UN has power. It's just expressing the opinions of the permanent Security Council members on the few occasions they all agree.

They are powerless against the security council and first world member's interests.

This was also the same hospital that local Afghan forces raided about 3 months ago because they believed that it was treating an Al Qaeda member.

In particular, MSF quickly publicized numerous facts that cast serious doubt on the original U.S. claim that the strike on the hospital was just an accident. To begin with, the organization had repeatedly advised the U.S. military of the exact GPS coordinates of the hospital. They did so most recently on September 29, just five days before the strike. Beyond that, MSF personnel at the facility “frantically” called U.S. military officials during the strike to advise them that the hospital was being hit and to plead with them to stop, but the strikes continued in a “sustained” manner for 30 more minutes.
