I still want to know what is so wrong with President Trump making the effort to at least get the two sides to the table to work out a cease-fire/armistice. He cannot enforce such a thing on either side, but President Trump is making an effort.

The Biden regime apparently had no plan at all to help bring an end to this conflict, according to Vice-President Vance. Apparently the Biden people were going to just keep shoveling out the money/stuff and hope Ukraine wins. Suggest the Biden regime could have tried to get the two sides together at least a year ago.

This war has turned out to be much like the Korean War. First year a war of movement, after that not much, lines stabilized until the armistice was reached. Russia very slowly grinds away at Ukraine, Ukraine still holding some Russian territory. Then you have the drone attacks, like something out of 1984, with Eurasia and Oceania firing the things at each other. All the time, people, men, women, and children, die.

This war has grievously damaged both countries demographically and economically. Ukraine cannot get to Moscow. Russia cannot take Kyiv. Why not just end this war, end the waste.

So fucking refreshing. How long has it been since we had a politician actually stop to talk to his critics/opponents/protesters instead of running like a bitch and hiding behind security personnel?

I guarantee you most of the people tailing him (the ones who "mostly agreed") were utterly astonished he stopped to talk to them like human beings and had literally no fucking clue how to respond to that. Protesting today is so mindless they really don't know what to do when the "opposition" goes off-script non-violently.

Because emotionally pride is a motherfucker and the EU is not ready to take this L. Biden definitely didn’t want it to end his foreign policy is going to be remembered as an unmitigated disaster.

But most of all these wars are being led by politicians who want to stay in power and I think the EU could really be fucked if they can’t stop blowing thru war money. Germany is in a recession and last I checked will be for years I think they have to keep building weapons for Ukraine.

Remember WW2 got us out of the depression. Now why we can’t just have governments invest money in things that don’t get people brutally killed I truly don’t know. They never taught me that in school. I would think Germany could take the Ukraine Mineral deal and spend a fortune building up Ukraine but apparently the USA has to do that.

The tarrif is paid on the cost of the imported good. Marketing and operating expenses don't increase from tariffs. When importing a $500 iPhone, every 10% of tarrif is $50. $50 is 4.5% of the $1100 retail price of the iPhone.

This source says Apple has an operating profit margin of 30% before taxes. US sales make up 1/3 of total sales. That means a 10% US tariff hits their overall operating profit margin at 1.5%.

Apple can "afford" to "eat" a 10% US tarrif and have a 28.5% operating profit.

Extra detail: Apple's operating margins in the Americas is 37%. A 10% US tariff would "eat" 4.5% of that (result: 32.5% margin).

Why would Apple not pass the tariff onto consumers in the form of price increases? And how about any firms trying to compete with Apple? Potentially even operating at a loss currently?

That's actually a lie that Trump admin keeps using against Biden. For whatever it's worth, Biden had made it his foreign policy to attempt to stop that war with more effort than he used on the Hamas war. He even got the Europeans on board. Ultimately it didn't amount to much. See, for example:

I might be missing more (I am ignoring the various summits where Western powers went into circle jerk sessions, as those had no actual value)

So, the newfound anger at the peacetalks is even stranger from that perspective.
