Funniest explanation I’ve seen for

The decline has not plateaued but continues to fall rapidly. In Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay, the number of births has almost halved in the last ten years, making Uruguay the first Latin American country to experience a natural population decline since 2021.
declining fertility in Latin American countries is that a substantial chunk of the fertile population is in/trying to enter the US.
Several countries of the region, such as Chile, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Cuba, and Jamaica, now have birth rates below 1.3 children per woman – the threshold for ultra-low fertility rates.
Doesn’t really explain Uruguay though.

Funniest explanation I’ve seen for this is that

Clownworld sucking up fertile people and making them not breed feels like a comedy if it wasn't so tragic.

Commiefornia has decided to release an illegal alien who killed 2 teens while driving drunk, high and at over 100mph after just 2 years even thought he was sentenced to 10 years.

He has a long record of DUI's and has been deported twice already. Commiefornia Department of Corrections "has no comment on the subject of parolee's".

Superman Tom Homan has pledges that "ICE agents will be there waiting for him to be released no matter what Governor Newsome pledges" as Newsome promised to "not hand over anyone to ICE, California is a sanctuary state."

Again the Democrats are trying to defend this shit. A twice deported criminal who has now killed 2 teens by driving drunk and Newsome will just release him on parole after a mere 2 years.

PS Homan is pissed and ranting a bit about democrat judges.

Well, those small plastic pieces must not be that costly, seeing how they're small and plastic. So, if a ten cent plastic widget in a 30 dollar product costs fourteen cents more, that's not going to cut too deep.
China is currently the source of
  • Nearly all electric motors
  • Most lower-grade steel
  • Most PCBs
  • Assembly of many intermediate and finished components
  • A pretty broad range of auto parts
That doesn't mean it has to be the source of things things forever. But it is now, and until there are economical alternatives, thinking companies will just bleed red ink is silly. The obliteration of the American PCB and electric motor industries won't be reversed overnight. Fixing our economic imbalance isn't going to be painless.

American PCBs.

Because the tarrifs are temporary. They can eat the costs for a bit to retain their customers, or they can raise the price immediately and lose current and potential customers to other competitors. If it was a permanent change, then yes, the last one to raise prices will probably lose the most, but that's not the case here.
I mean as far as him saying the consumer is not eating the tariffs, he's 100% objectively wrong, which was the entire point of my post. Also, virtually all companies are eating some of the cost while also raising prices. They're balancing it out.

My question is what the point of the tariffs are if Trump is now backtracking on taxes when China's made no concessions? Or were they a failure?

Are the tariffs still there? Yes? Then Chinese factories are still closing.

I unironically hope someone lynches this faggot and the judge that let him loose.

Hopefully they end up killing each other. A man can dream
the only thing a communist is good for is killing other communists.

But he's backtracking without China having made a concession, which Trump definitely would've made public. Also, it's curious how people who are for these tariffs concede China is more self-reliant than the US yet want to act like a war of attrition caused by this cold turkey approach to trade will have the US come out on top. Doesn't it make more sense that the country with a head start on the US as far as manufacturing will benefit more from this "strategy" than the US? Not saying incentivizing manufacturing is wrong, but maybe this is just a shitty play.

....are not even 3.6% of the global PCB export market. That global market is worth $48 billion. The largest PCB manufacturer in the USA is TTM technologies, with revenues of just $600m.

The USA isn't even a big player in the PCB market compared to Canada.

It's nice that the little company you linked exists and all, but the US PCB industry is just a blip on the radar right now.
