ValiDate - an upcoming (and unsurprisingly racist) visual novel made by SJW's, for SJW's. Currently MIA.

I wonder if this fag will throw a fit like the Tale of Tales devs did when sunset sold only 4,000 copies outside of their kickstarter campaign.

Lol, get fucked.

I mean, I get it, it takes some courage to post your stuff, put your name out there, but you also have to be capable of taking criticism AND the shit people will fling at you. It's not a matter of "if", this things WILL happen. No product is without flaw, and while I'm pretty sure you're exaggerating the other stuff (because nobody pays attention to your shitty game besides you and this thread), no product is without it's detractors.

You can't reasonably put yourself out there and say "POSITIVE FEEDBACK ONLY", especially if your magnum opus is a shit visual novel with unlikable characters. Posting is just the first step, retard. Better your product or perish.

Also, stan Malik.

Which hideous creature is Yolanda? Because they keep making a shit ton of merch for her/it. Was Yolanda designed by the main person who started this whole shit pile in the first place, and therefore wanted their OC front-and-center?

I'm pretty sure Yolanda is the black one (lol j/k they all are regardless) with the stupid fish hat and the piss-yellow lipstick.

The art isn't too bad but that character design is.... unfortunate.

Also, she's supposedly a French-Korean woman, as opposed to Rocky who's supposed to be Chinese.

Don't make a shitty and racist game then.

Blackwashing at it's finest. But no that doesn't exist haha because you know systematic racism or something haha.

Also chinese don't like black people.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a supposedly main character/face-front at this point. If there was any I would say Anoki because they're the first to appear in the promo video/one of the routes released in the demo and the worst character is probably the devs favorite as well.

Visual novels can be pretty good. The genre's just got the same problem as rpg maker games; making one is easy, accessible, and requires relatively little coding, so every dumbshit with a computer can think they'll be the next Dan Salvato and shit out a ren'py game. Makes the market oversaturated with garbage like, you know, shitty dating sims that no one wants.

They're also a fair bit more like choose-your-own-adventure books than actual games. If you go in expecting gameplay you'll be disappointed. Likewise, if you're developing one, you have to develop a good story as the core of the VN instead of just tossing some character interactions in a blender and adding story as an afterthought. The story is the game. It would be structurally shit even if the characters were good, but they all suck, so it's even worse.

I think Malik would be a fun character in a better game though.

I don’t mean a main player character, I mean that that character is one of the designers main favorites, and I’d assume it’s someone with clout in their little clique/“company”. Since I didn’t think they had even released any of Yolanda’s paths (I’m probably wrong about this, but they all blend together), I can’t see people clamoring for merch of one random character. Yet there’s already “I Stan Yolanda” and “You Should’ve Stanned Yolanda” stickers.

I’m saying somebody there involved with ValiDate is playing favorites with merch, and I wonder if that favoritism flows through everything.

She appeared in some released demo route but your right, they just pick their favorite to do merch it seems. I wonder if all this random merch is for their kickstarter or if they plan on already launching merch the moment they put this game out there. If it's the later that would be stupid imo. Like someone said they're catering to people that don't spend in games.

It's also funny how pissy they got other companies didn't want to pick their trash, racist game and they accused them of being racist.
Those aren't visual novels those are point and click adventure games.
There are many quality visual novels, most notably the very good ones are japanese. Some have really quality art, have an interesting and engaging story, good characters and well developed relationships. Some also are voiced with make all of it really fun. Obviously you're not getting anything worth of an best-seller book, but if you're reading shit then you're just choosing a shit one in the first place.

Don't make me bring up Katawa Shoujo for the 800th time. I'll fucking do it.
Do it, I'll bring up how it's bad and not a game for the 800th time.

None of these things are relating to gameplay and by going down this path is what ruined many games.

Dangan Ronpa was the Trojan Horse Tumblr rode in on.

Games are not books and nor are they movies.

VNs aren't exactly games, though. It's like comparing a comic book to a novel; a comic is technically a book but you don't read one expecting the kind of content you would get from the other. VNs are all about story and visuals, if you go in expecting exciting gameplay that's your fault.

I'd bet the person making the Yolanda merch is the person who made Yolanda. That stan shit is a kpop meme, Yolanda's allegedly half Korean, koreaboos are a plague.

Plus I can't imagine anyone on their 'team' gives a shit about anyone's OCs but their own. They couldn't even bother making them look like they're from the same universe.

Then they shouldn't be sold under Games and be on dedicated game systems then should they?
