It's more along the lines of the devs hating anyone who's normal and productive. Outside of the meme delivery driver and the Popeye's manager there's hardly anyone who doesn't look like they've been on Tumblr for too long or has a random combination of nationalities (actually this is everyone, but I really don't feel like sifting through a dozen flags to figure out where everyone is from again.)

The head programmer (as of this 2020 meet the dev tweet, seems to have been the only programmer at the time of this tweet) seems to be tweeting less in a day than Dani so theoretically work should be going smoothly. But perhaps the issues with their irl friends have kept them from making substantial progress.
So a team that originally comprised of 18 people is considering outsourcing its programming for an unambitious Ren'py novel meanwhile, in the years of old, a team of 4 to 5 people could fuck around and have a completed visual novel put out for free in the span of a couple of months. The swindle intensifies.
Meanwhile on main:
Here's the rub: Keaton Nervetti is the game's best character thus far outside of maybe Malik because he's such an inoffensive yet understandable stereotype. His parents are rich and he's likely rebelling as a result because fuck the system or whatever, despite the fact that he's benefited greatly from it and will continue to later in life. He's very into horror and he wants to make films (likely horror films) as that's his major. His character design reflects this with ease.
Simply put: he makes sense. There are logical steps to why he falls into certain stereotypes within the framework of the story and his flaws are seen as just that, flaws, meaning the character now has a baseline from which they can either go up or down throughout the story. He has aspirations and feels lived in to some degree, like he convincingly had a story before the events of ValiDate.
Honestly speaking, he is a great character for a dating novel on paper. Typically what happens is you have a good or bad ending, correct? Already one can imagine his bad ending being him leaning into his ways and continuing with his worse habits, indulging in laziness and poor hygiene, not caring for his art and love of film and choosing to continue coasting through life as he has been. The good ending would be the player character helping Keaton see the benefits of actively trying to improve himself, the PC potentially getting involved in a film project of his, Keaton showing off his passion for film and the culture he wears on his sleeve, and ultimately deciding to make an honest go at making it in the film industry by trying to reinvent a trite horror trope of something.
In comparison, let's go down the list of characters that have re-released about cards on the ValiDate twitter account:
He stands out because he's the closest thing to a proper character this game has so far and that's because he was meant specifically to ape existing tropes in media.
And yes, insult the audience of your unreleased game DATING GAME for wanting to DATE ONE OF YOUR CHARACTERS when, often times, people usually gravitate towards one or two in a cast of 5, let alone however many monstrosities are in ValiDate by now. That'll go over great. The cast of these games fall so easily into standard stereotypes for a REASON.

Forgive me, a teeny tiny non-girlboss game dev for being uncertain about the lingo and insinuations here. But is she really talking about outsourcing the programming of a Ren'py visual novel to a porting company?[RTs] GAME DEVS! Have you ever outsourced your programming needs for your game to a (porting) company? How was your experience in doing so?

Apologies for any repeated information, I had the urge to go down this list of staff and see what they're doing (on twitter). For reference, the tweets.

Percy's twitter no longer exists. Her tiktok (assuming this can be trusted) has been locked. The currently active account with a similar name (caiedscratch but with an L) doesn't seem to be related but they, too, sound like a gender special with an obsession over anime or whatever the fuck the woke wankers can consume for free these days. They truly do all act/sound/tweet the same. Status: Unknown.

Alexis has her twitter up, ValiDate in her bio, abandoned her alt twitter sometime in 2020. Must have been because of all the work she was doing on ValiDate. So hardworking. Has a couple fun designs on her redbubble. Status: Alive.

Side note: how is calling the Asian girl a "binch" (aka bitch but with a chink twinge) not somehow mega racist? They eat their own tails so quickly, I get worried when they don't flip out over the obviously asinine. Status: Probably not the problem.

Adrian is actually looking for one of those icky full time jobs. Lists ValiDate in the same sentence as "worked" in his twitter bio so that relationship must be over. That FPS project seems dead in the water but hey, at least it wasn't a racist and unreleased kick started visual novel. Status: MiracleOfSound if he sucked Stephanie Sterling's cock.

Vulcan recently learnt about [staying off the internet, presumably] and is showing off their aptitude at this activity right now. Status: Ejected.

Yu is sharing better uses of meme templates than the ValiDate twitter itself. Status: What in the ever-loving fuck is a nikkei?

Zo has seemingly vanished from the internet. Must have had a brain cell to spare. Status: Anoki and Ashlie have no writer.

Ace left the building. Two-spirit must be one with the trees. Status: Chose leaving the internet as their white nonsense treat.

Making the whole cast black would likely improve the game 200%. At least then it would be more focused, and the characters wouldn't be this scrabble bag of nationalities, skin colors, horrifying physiognomies and unconnected, sctterbrained traits. Dani might even be able to write something she knows, instead of relying on long-gone writers.

Publishers are willing to do a lot for you if you're okay with handing over a percentage of your copyright, income, and maybe a bit of your soul. This includes making ports of your game, which will take the responsibility of making one yourself off your shoulders.
If you're asking mockingly in regards to it being a VN, there are several out there on a variety of consoles, so I wouldn't be surprised.
Already thinking of ports and she can't even finish the game.

She's likely trying to get the game on other platforms outside the PC. Different consoles, especially your home and portable video game consoles, require different codes. RenPy uses Python, Most game consoles use C++. Unless you are using a game engine that supports some script, like unity 3D with C#, the development will mainly be in C++. This means in order to get the game on different devices, they will need to rewrite the code.

I think by "porting company", they mean companies that have made nothing but ports or were known for them exclusively when they are talked about, such as Blind Squirel Studios or M2 for example.
The bigger question would be who or why'd they want to port it to consoles anyways.
