Truly. After all, this is the perfect product for the people who don't care about quality or writing. Rather they are so desperate for representation that they love to see themselves in media no matter how horrendous the media is. That is blood in the water for people like Dani who take advantage of that.

Now, I get people wanting representation, although I think people should stop relying on media to get self-worth like retards. If someone's standard of media relies on the narcissistic aspect of "seeing yourself represented", that to me speaks volumes of the autism of that person.

Funny how it's always the most privileged of people screaming about representation.

Also, I find it really generous to refer to a couple of random bullet points as a "personality"

A lot of dating sims have the sprite and a list of likes/dislikes, birthday, job, age, etc for you to know the character before choosing a route, but of course the random shit dani/these people wrote were snarky sentences you'd read in a shitpost or just plain racism.

Of course the real personality of the character is shown on their route, but I don't think this game is ever going to be released at this point. I still can't wait until someone comes to tell their story and how they didn't get paid, were ghosted by dani, etc.

i bet my peanuts dani or the artist looked only at a google search of "visual novel sprite poses", saw the hand on hip pose and called it a day. i would know, i did the same when i was prototyping my own game before i looked into more character design courses

it's a staple in like, super old visual novels because of lack of enough space to make variants of static images. but surely there will be enough variants of poses in the full game, right? the demo with the old artists had those, so it's worth questioning if this new one is just really lazy.

Default/profile poses are usually employed to depict the character's personality. The one-hand-on-hip pose is in most cases shorthand for someone who's cool, easygoing and/or confident. Depending on their default expression, of course. Two hands on hips is usually coded as either arrogant, or tsundere.

I'm sure Dani would like to believe all her "struggling singles" are cool and confident, but since we don't really have any kind of personality for any of them outside of "community-made" lolsorandom memes it just looks lazy.

Oh totally agreed. Although the bullet points of Dani's Tumblr ho OCs are so obtuse, you don't really get a basic idea of the characters other than the flattest of flat introductions. They read like "le epic random memes" rather than traits for the characters. Although the "ugh white people" from Anoki's bio makes it very apparent that she's a miserable racist.

Also, no doubt in my mind that a Dani callout post (my money is on a TwitLonger) is just an inevitability at this point when you consider the shitshow that is the entire project. All while the game will end up like StarCraft except with no hype.
Although I am hyped ironically to see the shitshow in its fullest.

I can’t begin to say how much I LOATHE this concept. A lot of autistic twittards will use this exact notion and start bitching about anime lacking “black representation” even though that’s as stupid as demanding a Mexican show have more Asian representation or an African show having more Latino representation. Just because a show doesn’t include a particular race doesn’t mean it’s racist.
