The different styles don't excuse how bad the game looks as a whole. Again, this is why you need a Head Artist.

Truly this character's original description sheet is amazing. Every part of it is designed to make anyone's genitalia, male or female, climb up inside their abdomen.
Touch their beanie baby collection and she and her crotch droppings will reee at you? Wow, such a turn on.

"Characters are set up to complement"? Half of them seem like the type of person to write a blog post on sexual harassment after being called pretty! Puns aside, it doesn't work that way when they all look like they were pulled from random artists toyhou.se accounts. None of the characters share a theme in their design apart from looking beyond undateable.
wow, your redesigns have much more flair and personality to the originals. This just goes to show that some of these designs could be salvageable if the team actually gave a shit.

The artists most likely didn't collaborate on any of the designs. They just drew an "interesting" character then posted it in their discord server. No first drafts or sketches or anything that would allow the project heads to coordinate things.

The problem the artists have is that they either can't add enough to a character or they add too much. The best solution would be starting from scratch, taking one trait of a character and building from there.

I just noticed the Cuban flag and felt like i got hit with a brick. Thank God they didn't do the obvious tone-deaf thing and dress her up with a "Che Guevara" ensemble.
Also, a Cuban (if not 90% of latina/hispanic) mother is often like a honey badger than a screaming mimi; you'd sooner find yourself in the ER with a team removing a chancleta from your trachea than going deaf over a "REEEEE" episode. Which I'm not saying they don't have, just...

i think the worst thing about the game is how they're going about advertising it with memes of all things.
even if the art and character designs are extremely undesirable, i'd still think that decent writing and character bios could save them. if the characters are nuanced, 3 dimensional and have unique personalities, that could still attract some people to the game.
but instead of that they just go for 3 sentences to describe the characters in the most vague way possible, and rely on memes to get potential fans invested in them.
shitty memes are usually made by the fandom after the media is published. not the creators. its a really bad and embarrassing way of getting people to like the game. showing me generic memes with your characters pasted in isn't going to make anyone find them endearing. its just lazy

I was hoping they would at least clean up Ashlie a bit. But she still looks like a kid traced over a picture in a magazine using three whole crayons. She is so flat and poorly detailed. And what the holy fuck os going on with Yolanda's left sleeve?
These artists need to stop asspatting each other for being so talented and actually put some effort into unifying the art style. Maybe take an anatomy class while they are at it.
I am still astounded that Ashlie is not a troon. What with being a professional gamer girl. Seems like she would be a shoo in for troondom.

a major issue I’ve been thinking about was how they keep trying to present the game as “diverse“ and yet an overwhelming majority of the characters are black (with a couple ambiguously brown people).
if you don’t want any white characters that’s fine but where are the asians and Latinos??? No native Americans??? :/

I'm pretty sure some of the characters are fully or part Asian/Latino/Native American, but they're drawn either ethnically ambiguous or with "black" features.
