I'm a few minutes into the Twitch Bwitch thot x chicken hat storyline. So far literally all her narration is about how she's alone because she's a bitch who keeps burning bridges with her boyfriends and all their friends, how abusive/stupid/pathetic her exes were, or assuming chicken hat secretly hates her for whatever reason. So quite possibly a crazy BPD cunt, great.

edit: Holy shit, as soon as the first date starts Ashlie gets fucking TRIGGERED by Yolanda mentioning safe spaces (because she's never had a safe space anywhere and Yolanda can never possibly know her pain, bwaaaaah) and almost blows up at her before they've even ordered food. This may be the most unlikeable protagonist I've ever seen

I'm playing the demo right now too, and I didn't realize you have to play AS one of these characters. That's a pretty weird choice from the start. And doubles the work the devs have to do rather than letting you make one character.

Anyway I'm doing the Malik route and guys, his fucking face changes are so jarring.

The route cut off early with a black screen happily-ever-after summary after the first date, where they just rambled about safe spaces and poetry and only ate appetisers. Ashlie is the only character with two date options (the other three can only date Malik), and on the other route you can instantly fail by choosing to buy energy drinks instead of food. Every ending has its own clear screen so that's nice at least, I guess?

That hurts their feelings. They can't handle criticism in any fashion other than treating it with hostility. Their identity is their race, gender, orientation. How dare you judge the product without paying homage to the tireless efforts the made.

I just finished the Anoki route and it's mediocre. There's no other way to describe it than that. It left a bad taste in my mouth. It's one of the most self fellating routes I've ever played. This went from making YIIK look like Persona 5 to making YIIK look like Nocturne.

But anyway, here are some screenshots of said game so you guys can truly realize how shit it is without having to suffer through it yourselves.

The game starts out with a slide show of pictures with text to describe a scenario which leads the main character of your choice to call someone to date. It's not really even relevant to the story. They could have had a generic opening that ended with "Who will you ValiDate!" and it would have fit better.

The title screen looks extremely amateurish and generic. The selection box looks like it's a stock Ren'py asset and the background is too flashy for what's basically a PowerPoint Presentation of all the characters.

I saw the list of playable characters and naturally picked the fuck whitey girl because why not. Little did I know that she was the most annoying cunt of them all.

It starts off with dangerhair at her job, thinking about her cosplay, which her entire personality is based around besides being trans.

This is where we meet Malik, the manager of Bobeyes and an aspiring rapper. Dangerhair and Malik have the laziest exchange of words I've ever seen, then Malik offers dangerhair a mixtape, which I chose to refuse. He still gives it to dangerhair because dangerhair felt bad and there's no conflict other than muh oppression.

We get a black screen after this scene where dangerhair bitches about being trans because some guys would rather have Stacy a cis girl over her. Boohoo.

The next scene we have a gay marriage announcement, which makes dangerhair think about when she's getting married. Maybe get rid of the dyed hair, clown clothing, and gender bullshit?

Dangerhair then gives us the absolute worst that this game has to offer. She texts Malik about how she's trans and has multiple pronouns and how special she is. The game treats it like "coming out" and "a big moment". Like...you dress like a humanized sharpie I think Malik already knew you were a tranny.

Ok Arihi's route is the best by far. Not only is Malik kind of a lovable shitlord (you pass out on the floor and dude's response is to stick a mixtape in your pocket and leave), not only is Arihi a laughably edgy ball of "logical" incel rage who somehow fails at picking up a bottle of ibuprofen off a shelf, but the bad ending is amazing. Arihi gets misgendered and goes into a full on villain monologue about all the ways Malik sucks... and he is completely unaffected and just throws Arihi out of his fast food restaurant to cry all the way home :story:

It's full of "cis men bad" shit though so I have no clue how it can possibly have a happy ending.

Man with the way this VN demo is written, this has to be some kind of 6d chess parody. You can't just write shit like the native girl rambling about how dare people assume my gender, write horribly racist caricatures like Malik with him being a deadbeat dad and constantly attempting to get someone to listen to his mixtapes and make some playable characters unironically racist like the gamer girl (already forgot her name) walking into a hair salon filled with blacks and she's already upset seriously. There's just no way.
How the fuck did they get away with this?
Also I still really like the UI I think I am just damaged by too many default assets RenPy games.
