ValiDate - an upcoming (and unsurprisingly racist) visual novel made by SJW's, for SJW's. Currently MIA.

Got a link for that Reddit thread?

I think it was already posted here since its archived already, but that's the only thing I've found that comes up for it at all regarding Reddit.

Whoever said earlier in the thread that the person who chose the name didn't think over SEO was on the goddamn mark because attempting to sort through actual game validation process questions to get to this game is no joke.

Bonus points if the uncle's name is Tom.

Also, if you look under the categories of where that page is placed for Keaton its filed under "White Boy Shame Zone" for maximum transparency on where he stands in their community.

I feel bad for him already. Maybe we should make a drinking game out of how many times he gets white shamed.

I'm sensing a school shooter bad ending. Don't disappoint me guys,.

We he does crimes. Mass shooting is a crime.

I'm pretty sure his uncle will never come up.

Like how none of the other character's sound bite things ever really came up.

Character profiles should not consist of forced memes. It's uninformative and not funny. But the team thinks it is and I'm sure they gush over each other's writing like they do with the art. Everybody is just soooo talented. I can't wait to see what kind of inconsistencies occur over different routes. I have a feeling writing cohesion will be as issue just like art cohesion is.

Since you play as each character and not yourself or a single main character with a backstory there's no main player-centric plot. There likely isn't much going on to keep the routes centered somehow. They could have at least built it around an upcoming event every cast member is attending. Things are going to be all over the place and feel rather empty and disjointed.

You mean a school shooter "bad" ending.

I've been wracking my brain trying to come up with a good "surprised pikachu" meme for this whole shitshow but I'm having considerable difficulty pinning it down to one problem to make fun of.

Being that Keaton is white, I wonder if he will get compared to the uncle a lot. Because you know they are going to have to bring up whyboy's whiteness again and again. Especially when interacting with Anoki.

Also, ain't no one Italian American named Keaton. Even a stereotypical Tony or Vinnie would have been better.
I’m not American so forgive me if I’m wrong, but having racist relatives seems more like a stereotype of your bog standard Anglo American, possibly from the south, than an Italian one - then again these people have demonstrated repeatedly that they believe Europe is some homogenous land of racist colonisers with bland taste in food.

“Keaton” also strikes me as the sort of name a stereotypical preppy boy would have, and those also tend to be of Northern European descent from my understanding? So yeah these devs know jack shit about Europe and its numerous cultures or the different European immigrant groups to the US, it’s all “lol white people” to them.

Everyone hates somebody over here in the states.

Right now, it's the Muslims who are getting the worst of it. Makes you wonder why they never put an actual Muslim in this trainwreck.

I have an aunt who was born in 1934. Her father was a dark Italian and her mother was a white as paste Pole whose parents were immigrants. My aunt was dark with black hair and raised by her Polish grandparents. She told me that she was called nigger and kids at school told her she wasn't welcome in this neighborhood. Despite being Polish culturally and speaking the language she was physically a dark Italian. The high school she went to is ironically just about all black now.

When people talk about the story of racism in America they conveniently forget or push aside that fact that some people were just not seen as white enough even though technically they were white. They like to forget how certain ethnicities were treated just because they had an accent or a certain last name. There's a pretty intricate layering to hate that isn't just about black and white. It's unfortunate that identity politics just likes to make it sound so much more basic and simple for the sake of BLM.

And colorism is actually a huge problem in the black community. Light skin and good hair gets you more attention. I knew a lady that paraded around her light skinned, red haired biracial grandson like he was a designer accessory. I was friends with the younger daughter who told me her mother liked the baby more than her because he was light skinned. All my friend's mother's kids were pretty dark.

I think that someone's bitterness may have fueled the skin palettes here to a degree.

I think they chose spicy white because it was less unappealing to them than the Wonderbread look. Never mind that they can't even make biracial people look biracial. I assumed they were scared to death of light skin privilege in any capacity.

Well let's make something up to have Keaton sound less random and unfitting. His mom had a huge crush on Alex Keaton from Family Ties. Lol so retro.

Too hard. They'd have to research something other than tumblrisms and memes.

Being Aussie I often forget that race relations in ‘Murica aren’t what the USA obsessed leftists I know make them out to be - I was under the impression that most black Americans were fairly insular in so much as they prefer their own kind, and accuse anyone who doesn’t act stereotypically black of “trying to be white” (amongst minorities here the word for that is “coconut” - brown on the outside white on the inside), people who wear their hair in braids, dreads or an Afro are celebrated, and if someone has lighter skin but makes a big deal out of being black, any white heritage they might have is downplayed (Beyonce for example - she’s got French ancestry but since her current image is a REVOLUTIONARY AFRIKAN KWEEN nobody seems to remember that she’s mixed)

And isn’t Inaya (the Pakistani girl) Muslim, or Emhari (the black/Arab troon)? Though neither of them wear a hijab or anything that would immediately identify them as Muslim so they probably don't count.

No, that sounds about right. Or, at least, that's what I had to deal with.

Let this 'coconut' tell you that no one's more racist towards black people than other blacks. Long story short: If you're not going to fall in line, you need to know how to fight. You can NOT be meek. Especially now with all this BLM crap going on.

Though exchange downplaying white heritage for grossly exaggerating native American heritage.

Where I came from even trying to get good grades would get a black kid ostracized for "trying to be white"

The artist's Twitter is filled with OCs, so they're another Chris-Chan. This Antoine "Tony" person is part of something called "The Circle", which is more made up roleplay shit. The leader of "The Circle" is a character called Jade Curtiss, some character from Tales of Arise and other Tales games. I also saw a "ToA" abbreviation on a different Tweet for a 2nd confirmation. That's as far as I'm willing to dig.

tl:dr It's an OC fanfic and the flag comes from a videogame, or is also made up. Now I need some booze & bleach to scrub this shit from my brain.
