On Steam the game has 219 followers, the kickstarter had 1616 backers, and their twitter has 8000 followers. The KS backers averaged $28 per pledge, which is enough to preorder the game so they're out as potential customers. Would any of the big 3 even be interested in a port of this VN that might move 1k-2k units on their platform?

The game has a release date of May 2021 on Steam. What are the chances of a social meltdown happening by then that derails this entire project? 30%?

Sony does not care. Similar to steam, if you pay their publisher fee, you can put whatever trash you want on their store. The only requirement is that the game passes compliance (all trophies obtainable and no hard crashes, soft crashes allowed if its infrequent or unnoticed).

Considering the number of "programmers" they have for Ren'py, I can say for sure it's not getting a console port without another kickstarter.

Part of me wants to believe that that's what they're doing, but the other part says they got that many programmers because they are too incompetent to get Ren'Py working.

Ren'Py is the VN engine that would make Todd Howard proud, "it just works".

You wouldn't want to be accused of racism, transphobia or whatever. Approving Anoki was just horrible. Fuck white people? It goes without saying, but if a white dev made a game with a character whose profile said "Fuck black/Native/Latino/Trans/insert neo-gender here people" they'd be doxed and fire bombed within days. Well maybe that's a little much. But who knows these days.

The game's designs just look like Xir's Wild Ride on Tumblr. Crazy colors, ugly clothes, ugly characters, bizarre ethnic combos and meme blurbs for profiles.

Anoki is dressed like a 90s Nicktoons character that took too much LSD. Catherine and Rocky are pretty much wearing the same damn top and no one noticed or cared. Unless they have some connection it just looks like a stupid oversight.

Keaton's profile says he exclusively listens to Boundcloud rappers. Yet he is dressed like a guy who listens to punk and metal. Why is that? Because he's white?

This game is likely a hot mess not just because it's Tumblr: The Dating Sim, but because the person in charge let everything overbloat to accommodate friends. Thus we get a bunch of characters who look like they are from different games. And Ashlie, who looks like a child drew her.
