Valve unhappy with Epic's copying of user data - Shills unhappy over bounced checks

We already know they're corrupt whores who are easily paid off with blowjobs so cash money would be almost a step up for these bottom feeders.

Most of Gamergate was just reactions to the slimeball shit these crooked little pissants did trying to distract from their bullshit and lies.

The great revelation of Gamergate wasn't the corruption but rather the realization that these people were all coordinating to push an ideology.

(Presumably) In the Steam EULA, if not at the very least for the VAC EULA: consent to scan all computer files and running programs.
If Epic Games also presumably has the same, can Valve really say anything? After all, they both get that right from the user (no matter how unethically), so they both have access to every file. Epic has every right to inspect Steam files, and vice versa.

Technically yes but Steam is not linked to the U.S government whereas Epic is linked to Chinese corporate and state entities which historically have not had benign motives. I don't like Steam spying on me either but it's different levels of shit.

Basically people becoming aware about the Social engineering attempts from the failed journalists.
And I am completely in favor of a big Epic page. Even if we have to wait for their next fuck up to justify it.

Similarly Google no longer works with the US Military but apparently has no problems helping China's indirectly; granted it's entirely different levels of magnitude, but it popped into my head all the same. However, actively mining data from a competitor feels like corporate espionage to me for some reason, I have no idea if it actually qualifies or not, though. Just doesn't feel quite legal... kind of like code plagiarism maybe, I'm not entirely sure how to put my finger on it. Hopefully someone else can explain for me better.

Games media shilled Epic at about the same time.

I suspect there was alot of under the table payouts. Even Resetera was incredulous towards Jim's argument.

His argument is "There is literally too much freedom on Steam and it won't protect me." Nigger, its not a grocery store's job to wipe the drool from your chin if you buy SPAM when you wanted prime rib. A store's job is not to protect you from your own re.tardation motherfucker. You stupid fucking anglo faggot. Its there to sell you shit.

It is so. fucking. stupid. he had to be paid to state it.

Steam's level of spying: "OK, what computer specs and what games does this guy run so I best know what to populate his front page is?"

China's level of spying: "OK, what computer specs do the majority of Americans have and how can we build a botnet out of them?"

Yeah.

I think I'll 100% go with Steam instead.

Its definitely a sueable offense. Whether Valve will or not....ehhh. My money is on the above example I used for Steam being farmed for data to what you like to play to offer you ads on the Epic store. So instead of building one of their own, they lazily basically used Steam's data to do the exact same thing. That's really the only purpose. And maybe trying to harvest your friend's info to send them spam emails or something.

Its pure scum and it is painfully clear Epic is willing to play dirty and fuck over consumers for a dollar. Not to mention it harvests other data too. I'm sure other apps do too. But of course, I'd rather have a company selling me something than fucking China sending out one big net for who the fuck knows what.

I tried to steer more towards the aspect of Epic v. Steam. I think being able to scan every single thing based on "consent" is still unethical. It's more of a Valve itself has no leg to stand on kind of thing.

What are they actually doing with it, though? It's not like it's unprecedented for one app to access another app's data for the purpose of interoperability.

I assume it's some chinky malware thing just because it's Epic but is it actually?

If any of you haven't seen this, it's worth taking a look at. It shows the scope of Epic's spying.

If the shitstorm that comes out of this is anything below the level that causes the Epic Store to end up getting abandoned I will lose all hope.
Best you can hope for is that it scares all of the people who actually would spend money on anything other then Fortnite and they eventually stop giving out piles of money to devs for exclusivity and free games because it stops working. Anyone who downloaded for Fortnite still will play Fortnite and anyone who wants to play their free games will still play their free games so it's really unlikely to spectacularly implode.

Kinda sad b/c I got subnautica free and its beautiful. Guess Ill see if i can find an emu for it...

I picked it up during the craze, hated it, and stopped after one game. I'm now going over my computer trying to triple check I got rid of it, any tips?

Bulk Crap Uninstaller is what I use, after it uninstalls a program it runs through and finds "leftovers", like files left on the system and registry entries.
Honestly, I've never heard of this, and I really can clean out my computer. Thanks.
