No, that and Grim Grimoire are the ones I've never touched. I definitely want to give Muramasa a go eventually though and dragon Crown I barely played, so I don't consider that I gave it a proper shake.

Grim Grimoire is one I'm pretty confident I won't like due to its genre, which is another thing that isn't really selling me on 13 Sentinels. Dragon's Crown is nothing special in single player, it shines in multiplayer, as is the norm for the genre imo.

Muramasa is amazing, part of it is I just like the ancient Japan setting, otherwise it's similar to Odin Sphere but snappier. It's safe to assume if you like one you'll like the other.

Nowadays, yeah. I think I remember it having online, which is probably dead now. I know I played it with a friend but also I'm pretty sure online with a rando too.
 
I can agree that UO was average in the story department, but at least it was servicable high fantasy and not a subversion. The rampant furries and especially the poop skin elves running around didn't help though. Once again most Japs are simply too literal to comprehend what Tolkien's Dark Elves were (dark of Temperment, those who rejected the light of Valanor). The Dark Elves should actually be Paler than their kin, and even the shitskin elves in UO live in caves away from the light! So how the fuck do you get that shitskin? That's the same dilemma as the dung dwarves from Bezos' Rangs of Powuh, it not only buttfucks the lore, but it destroys the world building as mud people are just sprinkled around everywhere, as though a modern day semitically-funded replacement agenda happened or something...

Another thing that is desperately needed is period-appropriate dialogue. If you've ever played Tactics Ogre you'd know the dialogue is leagues above other JRPGs. UO is like a nintendo treehouse fire emblem-tier dub. I can't say anything bad about the visuals though, that's something that has remained quality since the sega saturn days. And the sheer amount of options is mind boggling. I also like the ability to pair with so many different characters. There's even the odd detail where you can ignore an objective and have it bite you in the ass if you take too long to rescue Scarlett, she turns evil. Really wish the game was full of tough choices to make, and that it allowed Alain to be a true conqueror if he wanted, not the predictable """"Liberator"""" wank. Whether Unifying or Conquering, it's the same shit, they just try to pretty it up with words like "Liberator", it's very American in that regard... Tactics Ogre doesn't do shit like that, you can make some cruel choices and the MC isn't a pussy about it. He defends your choices as though they were his own, naturally.

At least Vanilla knows how to make some damn good >pendulums<.

You're wasting your breath. Japs have long decided that elves all have pales skin and blond hair, and dark elves all have brown skin and white hair, and there's so much anime, games, and porn reinforcing this that it's not changing in the foreseeable future.

This is kind of pedantic, but calling Alain a liberator does make sense since he really doesn't conquer anything. All the other countries go back to being independent states run by their original ruling families at the end, so all Alain conquered was the area that was already Cornia in the first place. The only unifying he did was becoming besties with the other heads of state so that national relations are friendlier after the war is over.

Dark Elves being brown skinned is pretty much an established trope in Japanese media, with the one defining it probably being Pirotessa
Tbf, that design works far better in a visual medium to show the difference of the two groups. And those characters are definitely not nigger/indian coded.

It's not really the case, you need to basically enter the end game to do it and that's pretty much impossible without hours of grinding.
