Vanillaware needs to rerelease Muramasa for the switch, ps4/5, etc. Not sure why they haven't

I have not played Odin's Sphere, 13 Sentinels, or Dragon's Crown (it reminds me of the witch lady boob jiggle or whatever that pissed Jason Schier off iirc?)

I still have my copy of Muramasa on the wii. I won't ever part with it unless we get the updated version on ps4 or switch tbh...

13 Sentinels got positive reception but I've also seen criticism because it turns into an Evangelion episode in its game play at certain points?

Odins Sphere and Dragon's Crown worth a look?

I played Odin Sphere back on the PS2 because so many people recommended it to me. They all said "It's so visually stunning, every frame is a painting, I have never seen something so beautiful", and all the usual shit. It's true tho, it's incredibly pretty, but that's really about as far as it's qualities go.

It runs terrible, plays like dogshit, progression is super awkward and time consuming and I found the story book system to be a mess. I hear 90% of this got fixed in the PS4 re-release tho, that it's actually an excellent game now, so if you're gonna give it a shot, stay away from the original version.

Dragon's Crown is pretty good. Classic beat 'em up format upgraded for the modern times and with some A tier big tiddy waifus to boot.

No idea about 13 Sentinels tho.

Dragon's Crown also suffered issues when it was on the PSVita and the PS4 port fixed a lot of those issues, there seems to be a pattern here....

Odin's Sphere is similar to Muramasa minus any platformer elements, each zone is just a place to fight enemies. About Dragon's Crown, have you played Capcom's Dungeons and Dragons? They're both by the same director. I won't say they feel like the same experience but it should give you an idea on what it's like.

I got 13 centinels for my wife, but the game is spoken in Japanese, and because she has dislexia she can't play it.
For shame, she played all other games released in English by them.

The one thing with Muramasa is that the difficulty for it is not balanced. There's a ton of bullshit hard as balls sections for it if you plan on doing the whole game. The base game needs to be speed run in under 3 hours and the additional DLC has similar challenges and stuff on fury mode.

I'd go for a PC version of GrimmGrimoire. Did they ever release that game to anything outside the PS2?

Again the artwork is stunning, I like the setting and the characters, but the gameplay is so handicapped and slow because of it being a RTS game on the PlayStation.

I can vouch that both Odin Sphere and 13 Sentinels are great. Just keep in mind that 13 Sentinels is foremost a visual novel with a segregated side of adequate turn-based strategy gameplay. As a mystery story, part of the fun is in analyzing what you've seen so far to piece together what's going on, and an elaborate in-game archive is provided to enable you to do just that.

I played Odin Sphere back when it first came out on the PS2, and though I was most into the Shakespearian fairy tale of a story, I also enjoyed its combat and gameplay loop despite the criticisms you generally hear about it. Regardless, as already mentioned, I've heard that the modern Leifthrasir remake on the PS4 improves the gameplay that leaves everyone satisfied.

What are you talking about? Not only does 13 Sentinels have an excellent English audio track, I'm pretty sure the game defaults to it, too.

It Does? I need to try that, i did not Find anything in the game for it.

that reminds me, Anyone played grimgrimoire on the PS2? It's a primitive command and conker, it was not bad, but really needed mouse support. It also does not help that the game itself has a time loop for a story.

Odin Sphere is 100% worth a look and is easily accessible on PS4.

It is not worth $60 but it is regularly discounted down to $15 sometimes $8.

Good story. Decent graphics. Good battle/crafting mechanics. Fun all round.

If you are a sticker hunter then it is a fairly easy platinum which can be done with low effort over 60-odd hours.

Well worth $15/$20 on sale. YMMV on physical prices.

All the games are great, except 13 sentinels. The game feels like it got through a huge change late in development (which it likely did) that had it chopped down to a VN style segment and gameplay segment that feel completely disjointed. The plot was unnecessarily convoluted and it could have been far better if it was just played in a linear order.

Been meaning to play one of their games for ages, but have to get around to it, I agree that Muramasa desperately needs another re-release.

Oh hey 13 Sentinels has one of those sukiban deka girls or whatever they're called. You rarely see them in games...

Iirc MTDB added new characters to vita version? I assumed the two fox girls with milk jugs were playable in that version. I assume it doesn't add to the main story though?

DLC that includes other characters unrelated to the main plot and have their own self-contained stories.
