The most they've said is they're appreciative of all the feedback, and they've got plenty of it on the overtuned teen stuff. And it's only a few numbers that need tweaking as opposed to DbD probably needing an entire ground-up rework. They just need to not listen to the discord junkies sitting in there all day and yelling about pie-in-the-sky counterplay options.

This game is already infested with Troons, may as well bait in furries as well.

So can someone tell me how this game is going to cause DBD gamers to walk out into this game? Because from the gameplay it seems like VHS is just toxic bully squads made into an official game objective, while the monster is much more of a bitch compared to DBD killers and just as stressful and sweaty. Isn't that the reason why killer mains hate DBD now? Why migrate to a game that is just as awful. Am I missing something? Cause it seems like if anything, VHS is exactly the appeal of survivor mains that DBD panders to already.

Well, it's been down for a little over a month now. Devs have said nothing when it might be coming back up.

As to your 2nd point, honestly I have lost faith in this. It's a closed beta so there's a chance of fixes being made to address balance concerns but I would say it's a snowball's chance in hell kind of thing. The big question is if the devs are going to listen and are they just going to listen to the echo chamber they've cultivated on their Discord? We don't know. But I'm not optimistic about it.

In the future, I will refrain from making threads about asym horror games because I've lost all hope of there being an actual good one.

I agree with your last point. An asymm game where the killer isn't oppressive nor dogwater at the same time seems to go against the rules of this world.

Also, this asymm talk reminded me of the canceled Fable asymm I played, which is depressing because I thought it was nifty.
 
The most recent development beyond them saying the game is coming back Soon, was the blowing up of the VHS steam community. About 600+ threads got nuked. All the free cleaning labor have to say about it is that "it had to be done" due to "toxic negativity."

There's also a non-dev or mod account vehemently defending the decision and the game in general. It's been accused of being a mod alt. Also thought it was funny that the new thread rules specifically mentioned furries as being a protected group. Several of the mods are furries.

To me it looks like they wanted to nuke a bunch of negativity about the game before it comes back online. I've been thoroughly unimpressed with their mod team and by extension, the devs that are letting them behave like this.

Yeah, the game is dead. @CisnaHet Scumale Is right that with any luck the game will bring in the more deranged survivor mains from DbD and split the base enough to make Behavior address some of the many issues they've ignored.

Okay, yes, I was obviously tempting fate but the tranny jannies or whatever vernacular the Kool Kids Klub uses these days, are obviously mad as fuck. How many times have you seen just a permanent ban on a Steam forum? Not a temp ban that lasts 1-2 weeks or whatever. Not even a ban over doxxing someone, or making an actual legit threat or somesuch. Just a straight up permaban fuck you we don't want you as a customer.

I wonder if the owner(s) of Hellbent Software are cool with their mod team and devs waving the middle finger to hundreds if not thousands of customers like this.

If you get banned for a simple observation and not for saying stuff like euthanasia for furries or smth.

Welp, I'll add another entry to the list of "ASS game that failed", serves me right for getting hyped before even trying out the game.
Although to be honest, this shit is taking so long to come out, lost all interest/hype for it back in january. What the hell is taking them so long even?

I've made so many threads about asym games and every single one has failed:


Granted, this is more about the drama but this was the first to be announced and the first epic fail. Devs didn't listen to the community, a lot of BTS bullshit with selling keys for the Hell Jason, horrible optimization, terrible balance and legit game-breaking glitchs/exploits that were never addressed, game was up and abandoned (with Uber Jason fully completed AND glitch-free but never added to the game) so Illfonic can milk other licenses.


Devs didn't listen to the community, released a deeply unoptimized game with tutorial that doesn't tell you a lot of things, and then just rushed out a new mode (while deleting the old mode people liked) that made it into a blatant DbD clone before shutting it all down barely 2 months later.


Devs released exclusively on Discord first, didn't want to listen to the community, created an echo chamber, released later on Steam with questionable balance, took them too long to address the balance where for some reason survivors got a blood web with perks first before killers. Then, icing on top, they re-release the original busted Discord version for full price.


Same chucklefucks behind F13, Epic Gay Store exclusivity for a year, terrible balance, poor optimization, lazy Steam release with no hype behind it.


Epic Gay Store exclusivity and the devs have been very dodgy with releasing gameplay footage. Keep in mind the game launches next month and there's barely any gameplay videos.

Oh I remember the hell jason keys drama, but what does BTS even mean in this context? and wasn't the evil dead game supposed to come out in march? guess that got delayed. man this genre is truly cursed

I heard shit where other devs had offered to help Illfonic (for free) and they were turned away. BTS is all-encompassing for massive levels of incompetence up to and including claiming they can't make any changes because of the lawsuit but that didn't stop from porting it to Switch a year afterwards and fucking over the dedicated servers for console/PC by allocating some of the server space to Switch players. Oh yeah, and it was discovered the Hell Jason wasn't actually designed by Tom Savini, he just signed away his name. Keep in mind they kept saying "An exclusive Jason designed by Tom Savini!"

The Evil Dead game is due for a May release.
