I'd like to make a small sidebar here to talk about another thing I like ruined by this shit taking control of everything that only tech autists like myself would care about. There was this terrific blog that ran over a few years called Sonic 3 Unlocked, and it basically went into the minutia about bugs and other technical oddities that Sonic 3 had. I, as a resident Sonicfag, enjoyed reading the tech mumbo jumbo, but I was saddened to see over the years that the author, who went by Fred Bronze, had stopped posting on it. Fred Bronze also worked on the phenomenal Sonic 3 ROM hack Sonic 3 Complete, which basically just served to improve the experience of playing Sonic 3.

Well, I checked out his social media profiles to see what he was up to, hoping he was still working on this other ROM hack project promised a while back, and...

Now I'd known they were a leftist politisperg a few years prior when I did a similar check, but this was pre-troon out. But the reason I made this post in the first place was the first thing on their timeline, the very thing that caught my eye.

I know this isn't a popular opinion here but if Null didn't facilitate personal contact information on the website public or not I feel like this would be an easier thing to avoid. Just saying, removing the “Here's someone's phone number, don't call this number and yell at their mom” factor might help the optics a bit. I'll take my downdoots now thanks.

Here's the thing: At this point it literally doesn't matter what we do. We ban all doxing, nobody will ever forget the history of this site and will still want to shut us down. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Better to just stand our ground and not let these degenerates dictate what we can or can't do or say. You give these people an inch, they'll take a mile.

Thinking about things, chopping off one's own genitals does not HAVE to come with an insufferable attitude. My guess is that there is "dark matter" of transsexuals who have undergone transition and quietly gone about their business. We don't hear about them because they don't cause any trouble.

Maybe the gulf in thinking between thinking one's gender is fluid vs. not is too wide, which causes issues?

Or maybe it's similar to veganism, which also has a lot of obnoxious followers. I believe in that case they feel moral superiority vs people who continue to eat meat, and that manifests as an obnoxious attitude in some people.

Taken in isolation I don't have any problems with someone choosing for themselves to alter their body, but the obnoxious behavior that (sometimes? always?) comes along with it is the real problem. Look at "Lily Tino" for example, the type of crazed behavior where one sits in Disney World making public videos talking about genitals.

I think if a male sat in front of Disney World talking about his penis, there'd be almost universal disgust, however, if that same individual transitions to female, some people think that's brave and excellent?

Quite some interesting issues in this year of our Lord, 2025.

In a way they are, in other ways they aren't; people vary along the amount of investment they bring to a community, as well as the quality of contributions. Tourists are expendable as there are plenty of them and they bring in relatively little. High-skill, high-investment contributors are much, much rarer, and are not expendable. Additionally, the composition of the community, along this axis as well as axes like ideology/attitudes, skillsets, psychological tendencies, etc., strongly determine the future trajectory of the community. And not every aspect separates cleanly from others, and the relationship between the composition and trajectory isn't linear. I think the mistake here is basing ban decisions on aspects not closely related to the core mission. What they are banning on will become the core mission. I think he is aware that he's setting the future trajectory by increments, otherwise he wouldn't be trying to ban "bigots" in the first place. But the usual janny's model is linear and fails to consider second-order effects. Also "ban decisions will become the core mission" is how every forum gets subverted into a globohomo mouthpiece, in a nutshell. They are basing their ban decisions on what is important to globohomo, not the community. There's also a good chance that it is not a mistake and it can be said that banning people over dissent over pride flags is the point.

Also shutting off the intake valve definitely sets it on a trajectory of stagnation and eventual dissolution, if from nothing else, attrition. And brother decided he's gonna be the main source of attrition.

Nothing says "trust and compassion" like:
  • Perma-banning a long-time contributor over not liking the new LED logo, then Fortnite-dancing on their userpage after-the-fact
    • This is the same person who called changing a logo "incredibly petty"
  • Telling anyone who visits your site from soyjak.party, Kiwi Farms - or even fucking 4chan (for any reason whatsoever) - to kill themselves (despite evidently visiting said haven for doxing, himself)
  • Instilling a chilling effect on anyone who isn't a zealous activist (all on a site about unused stuff in video games, mind you)
  • Doubling down on this egotistical standoff with people who are clearly just fucking with him and who don't even use the site, to the detriment of literally everyone else on the site who does not give nearly as much of a fuck and just wants to grill.
He's basically saying "you know what, I may end up expelling like 10% of the site, and I may be making most everyone else here miserable, but at least I'm doing what I believe in."

I would argue they have a financial incentive NOT to fuck with these people either, considering they have a patreon and have berated their staff for behavior that threatens it. Though. my point is more this: There are many many autistics willing, no, foaming at the mouth to write up the next Sonic, Mario, Pokemon, Splatoon, UnderRune, any of the autistic mainstream titles. THOSE people are truly replaceable, but there's an insane amount of games beyond that, stuff that people would still care about, or are bound to have something truly fascinating, but isn't necessarily what's "popular" in the groups xkeeper wants to foster, and the people with the skills or dedication necessary to document those are likely to be shut out simply because they're less likely to follow the herd in matters such as mandatory pride. Thus, the article never gets made and the site is forever stuck as a daycare center for retards until the day it dies.

I have a childhood friend who trooned out. He pretty much cut off his father because he "doesnt respect his pronouns". Man has early onset dementia, no shit he doesnt respect your pronouns, he literally cant understand it. Hes noticeably absent from holidays. Its sad. His sister who lives several states over has more contact with their parents.

There is a lot of binary thinking going on with some of these folks. Anything less than showing overwhelming amounts of support is "not believing they have a right to exist" or "trans genocide".

If I like chocolate ice cream and don't prefer vanilla, that doesn't mean I want to wipe vanilla from the earth, but a lot of people would have you believe that this is true.
