Did you like GTAV's ending? It kinda felt rushed to me, like maybe they were running out of time or budget and had to find a quick way to wrap it all up. It's been a long time since I've played it, though, so I don't remember specifics.Almost finished GTAV again and still bitter that it never got a DLC story expansion like Episodes for Liberty City. I get that the Online received all the post-release love because Shark cards are Take 2's money maker, but I wasn't much a fan of the online due to all the griefers and cheaters. Give me relaxing single player times which I can tackle at my own slow pace than online bloodsports for 12 year olds.

I’m glad I stumbled on this post.Skyrim is unironically better than Oblivion. I have no clue how people think Oblivion is a good game, especially since I distinctly remember a time during the late 2000s when it was considered a half-assed Morrowind for normies.
To be fair, if I had gotten the chance to kill Franklin, I would've taken it on the off chance I could finally fucking murder that stupid nigger Lamar. My final issue with the story is the ending dilemma of who Franklin has to kill. It seemed to me like Rockstar were trying to do another clever ending scenario like they did with Red Dead Revolver. However, giving the player the option to not kill either Michael or Trevor, and just go kill the FIB douchebags instead, completely deflates the weight of the choice. NOBODY ON THIS GREEN EARTH is going to permanently kill off an interesting main character, for an under-developed plot reason, when the choice of saving both exists. Why even bother giving the player that choice at all?
Anything new enough to have a PS5 version is probably getting ported but PS4 games from earlier in its life or by dead devs are probably staying exclusive, leaving the PS5 some niche use as a faster PS4 for its few exclusives. It'll end up in the same position as Xbox Series X with owners having nothing to brag about but emulating older Xbox games without PC ports. If Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, Bloodborne and Persona 5 all end up receving ports to other platforms like on PC or elswhere, then there is basically no major hook or killer app for you to justify currently owning a Sony system (just PS4 and 5) what so ever, unless you value a video game console over a personal computer.
The biggest issue is that most sites don't go under a 6, unless the game won't even boot.People act like a 6-7/10 is a "bad game", i always thought that meant an average game that the majority of people like (hence the 6-7/10), not every game has to be GOTY tier shit. I swear a lot of people just parrot what their favorite youtubers say. leading to some games getting too much unwarranted hate, or leading to circlejerks (IE Fallout New Vegas or any Fromsoftware game), while a review may tell me some basics info about the game, I rather play it and make my own assessment. I wonder if people that either hate/circlejerk certain games have actually played them.
With digital downloads being pretty common now preordering is basically a waste of time these days. They will never run out of digital copies. You can buy the game digitally and play it then just pick up a physical copy later on. Just wait till the price drops if that's an issue or buy it used. But a lot of games these days tend to be garbage so it might not even be worth it.I can understand that time, buying it over the internet (for console games) was usually not an option for PS3/360 games and the big midnight releases could be fun. It was a stupid event filled with hype and hype + stupid is fun! Sometimes, at some places, they added in free swag as well (if it was the location the publisher was backing).
And in an era of physical formats they could run out of games but the only time it was very important to pre-order was for imports. Getting RE4 a day after the NA release in Europe meant that the shop paid for turbo express shipping and only had a box with 20 copies on hand.
It's like movies, some movies I really enjoy might have a 6.3 on IMDB but that just means it's not for everyone. The score might not mean it's a good movie, it could be crappy, lackluster and mediocre, but it's not necessarily a bad movie, it might just lack mass appeal or deal with something many people aren't interested in. Same thing with games.
I think it's a holdover from back in the day when video game magazines and sites were still a big thing. When people depended on those magazines and sites for the reviews. When you only have so much money to spend on a game people wanted the best games. The 6's and 7's could be picked up later on when the price dropped. No one wanted to spend a $50 on a game that was a 6-7 experience. Another guess it's just being passed down culturally as well.People act like a 6-7/10 is a "bad game", i always thought that meant an average game that the majority of people like (hence the 6-7/10), not every game has to be GOTY tier shit. That's one of the things I hate about GTAV. It never got any story DLC. I don't like GTAO and have never played it much. There was story DLC Rockstar was working on but they made it DLC for GTAO. GTAO is a huge grind fest.Almost finished GTAV again and still bitter that it never got a DLC story expansion like Episodes for Liberty City. I thought the ending was ok. But I didn't care for how short the game felt. I also got the feeling it was just a big tutorial for GTAO. I know GTAO didn't have much when it first started but Rockstar had to work on the content first. I enjoyed the story mode, and it was fun, but I was left wanting more. Instead, they started putting all the content into GTAO. I bought GTAV for PC back when it released in 2015 and I finished the story in 2016. I didn't do much of the side stuff. How the game went with GTAO is what disappointed me. I was pretty fed up with Rockstar. Then they released RDR2 and I really liked that. I don't want another GTA game where the story mode feels like a tutorial for the online part of the game.Did you like GTAV's ending? Absolutely, I was talking about the past. The places I bought from didn't have any money down policy either, they just put you on a list and held the game for a couple of days. One thing that was bizarre if looked at from todays perspective was importing PC games, there was no real point to it other than getting it one or two weeks early. With digital downloads being pretty common now preordering is basically a waste of time these days. I never preordered a game back in the 6th gen. All my games were bought after release. I didn't preorder a game till 2018 and that was on Steam. I only did it to get the preorder bonuses and also because I had the money at the time. I might not have had the money for it on release. That's about the only two reasons to preorder games digitally I can possibly think of. Since then, I have preordered other games but not many. I only preorder from developers that know won't put out a shitty game on release. I bought Doom 2016 on release and made sure I had my PC built before it released. I preordered Doom Eternal. I would not preorder anything from EA or Ubisoft. I preordered RDR2 and figured after GTAV they finally figured out how to make a decent PC port. I was totally wrong with RDR2 and that game was a mess for weeks or months after release. Poor optimization and all. So I have Rockstar on my no preorder list.Absolutely, I was talking about the past.
