Turned off the game and swore off playing any "adventure game" created in the last decade. Absolutely fuck modern gaming.
double reply because it already started, knew it was gonna be sometime in october, not just literally first week (dunny why the link already has the next one in the title):

point & click even has it's on sub-category. some games of note I plan to give a try (way too many games, my download list is already over 40 demos):

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1605320/Unusual_Findings/ - first impression is maniac mansion riding the stranger things wave, but that doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1967390/Lenny_Loosejocks_in_Space/ - similar vibe, but without the 80's pull (just "classic" point & click).
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2091740/Press_Lex_to_Metaverx/ - monkey island with 90's references?
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1848440/Foolish_Mortals/ - broken sword meets gabriel knight
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1692550/The_Journey_of_AutUmn/ - machinarium vibes with handdrawn graphics
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1116480/Slender_Threads/ - quirky nu-lucasarts artstyle, mite b good
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1581680/Stories_of_Blossom/ - handdrawn graphics again (gotta admin got a soft spot for those), and while I don't expect to be blown away I look forward to wholesome and SOVL
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1578990/Midnight_Girl/ - interesting artstyle and inspiration (paris and belgian comics from the 60's, although it's not ligne claire)

and those are just the ones I linked, there are even a few more that look interesting imo but this post is already long enough. and that's only this category without all the management/farm sims, metroidvanias and other stuff...

EDIT: if you browse steam in a browser (which makes it less sluggish), I recommend this: https://augmentedsteam.com/ - among the price info that feels like cheating, it also lets you put notes on wishlist entries.

I don't jrpg that much but ever since Tales of Arise (or Scarlet Nexus) I noticed boxart for those types of games are just a guy and girl facing forward, this a new trend or something?
Just like movies the anime shows and games are now plagued with that very thing, they just show you some of the characters standing next to each other and you are left none the wiser to what it's all about.

Playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Never have I tried collecting all the collectibles in a game. I think I'm nearing the end of the campaign, though.
I think that series sums up the terrible "media is now mature" attitude of the 10s/20s pretty well.

OG TR: mythological creatures exist
TR remakes: It's hallucination gas and a guy with a sock on his hand

I wish Fall Guys and Cuphead came out for physical edition cases with their respective consoles (Nintendo Switch, Xbox One Series X, PS4/PS5, etc.) *sigh*

Those games look like fun to play on the road.

Anything good on recent discounts?

something with great workshop content and replayability?
Bit of a left field one, but this is on sale for a good price and has a lot of workshop content.
Basically it's Picross 3D but not.

Good news for Science Adventure enjoyers and weebs whose brains haven't rotted from watching [insert current mainstream anime], Steam has officially lifted the retarded ban on CHAOS franchise (presumably over some optional spicy costumes made just for fanservice...not to say anything about Steam's quality control, but lmao) and, as of today, both CHAOS;CHILD & CHAOS;HEAD NOAH are now on Steam.

Link to a bundle: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/28397/CHAOSHEAD_NOAH__CHAOSCHILD_DOUBLE_PACK_BUNDLE/

Out of nowhere I randomly remembered this old Worms clone called Gunbound, and I started playing that. But it sucks because they made a 'new version' and it seems like it was basically meant to be a mobile/tablet port that they just never put onto those. It kind of has that cheap Chinese/Korean MMO stank to it, and I wish they kept it with real controls instead of mouse/touch only, but its still kinda fun. Also wish they cut out the mobile cash store, and had more interesting maps. I miss the old version.

I do remember reading that Cuphead was confirmed by the developer that they wanted to put out a physical version. They continued to confirm it so I do believe its happening, they said they wanted to wait for the DLC, and when that came out, they still had an article saying theyre gonna put one out. It may be some dumb shit like through Fangamer or whatever those sites like that are, like Limited Run or whatever that one kind of scummy site is.

I remember wanting Fall Guys on switch too and they said it would come out, but then they 'put it on hiatus' so its only on whatever console and the Epic Games store which kinda sucks.

Replaying Judgment now that it's on Steam and boy do I wish I could understand Mahjong since this franchise loves to hide stuff behind doing good at it.

Just learn how to do Riichi and hope for the best. Idk how it is in Judgment but its hard in Yakuza 0. RNG plays a huge part of it. If you dont have a good Han, just restart.

Fall Guys has been out on Switch for some time.

On a lark, I searched for "video game menus" on YouTube, and the top two results are two unrelated videos from different channels that look like parallel world versions of one another:

I have no idea who these channels are, it just made me laugh that they used the same exact thumbnail format with Persona 5's graphics for such a broad topic

I'm trying to look for a website that showed interesting video game-related auctions. One of them was for a Japanese-only Saturn or PlayStation game that included the clothes the booth babes had (or whatever they called them in Japan), like the tights and gloves. I can't find anything related to it anymore...there's a lot of rare video game-related stuff that I remember seeing on the Internet that has simply vanished with little proof it was there.

Don't most Japanese games get auctioned on Yahoo! Auctions Japan?

It somehow made it to whatever this site was. It had a black cover and red text, and it wasn't that they were auctioning it, it HAD been auctioned. I think it even got mentioned on Kotaku or some other site at some point, you know, back before it got ruined by Patricia Hernandez. (It wouldn't surprise me if the archives from the late 2000s/early 2010s got purged at some point).
