Steam has Dragon's Dogma on a deep discount right now. Really enjoying it. Story is passable but the combat is great and the Pawn system makes for interesting party compositions. Still a little confused on some mechanics - e.g., the game gives you tips like "Don't be afraid to run away from some encounters!" and actually puts you in situations where running away IS the only option, but since I'm stubborn I kept thinking I was losing encounters because I wasn't playing right and played the same sections over and over. Feels weird. Guess I'll return to those areas later with better gear and wipe them out?

Basically yes. You'll level up and get skills in various class and in general know how to play the game a ton better. If you are really stuck there are a couple of gimmicks you can do that will absolutely break the game but don't worry about that till later.

Dragon Dogma has ton of shit going on that it doesn't explain very well and is not afraid of having your miss out stuff. (And fuck up something until you do New Game+). Its a great game but one thing I would suggest is actually hoofing it out to the endpoint of a escort quest, playing down a portal stone, and THEN starting the escort quest with teleportation to the end. The escort people can die pretty easily and once they are dead they are DEAD. (Along with the good gear you could have gotten).

Since you are playing on the PC you should have a portable Portcrystals in your storage and there are 4 more to pick up in the open world. Use and abuse them.

After a whole damn year since I touched The Outer Worlds and moaned about how utterly disappointing and comparatively un-fun to both NV (story) and Fallout 4 (gameplay), I decided to come back to it (didn't buy relatively new DLC) during the weekend. IDK what it is, but I enjoyed it this time. Still blitzed through the story and finished a play-through earlier today, but that was less "lets get this done ASAP I'm not enjoying this" and more '"I want to see where the story goes". IDK what they updated in the year since it launched, or maybe because I played as the "bad guy", but it was far, far less tedious and more enjoyable than at launch.

It's got me engaged enough that I might just throw out the money for the DLC and roll a character again. Apparently it wasn't that well received, but it is more tied in to the overall story than other DLCs of this nature on other games.
 
Anyone remember the Kairosoft games? Those were dope as fuck phone games, hard to believe they were actually made for Japanese cell phones in the early 2000s. I'm gonna retry Software Inc and see how it goes.

WWE All-Stars is a very under appreciated gem in its history of wrestling games. I think with WWE 2K Battlegrounds out for the last few days, it really starts to show why I’m surprised they never decided to remaster that game for the PS4 or XBOX One.

Nintendo Power had some neat exclusive stuff, but Gamepro was kind of crap. EGM was fun for a bit. Diehard Gamefan was honestly pretty good. Gamepro's saving grace was that it never reached Game Informer levels of awful to my knowledge. There was another rag out there that I liked but fuck if I can remember what it was called.

I've noticed Freedom Fighters has gotten a digital re-release.

Killing Commies would be much more fun now than it was in 2003 and I wonder if that's why someone felt the game needed a re-release now.

Do Normies really give that much of a shit about the angle that Sony censors Anime Titties? I mean, there alot of people saying that Sony will lose this console generation because of their censorship policies. But will the casuals actually give a shit an buy Sonys products anyway?

Also, anyone who thinks that Microsoft isn't woke is kidding themselves.

Most normies I know didn’t even care that much for anime made games until the remaster for FF came out last year. It’s a lot different in North America than it is in Japan.

The Senran Kagura incident still is memorable for me, even when it was in the West considered as a mediocre game.

Rocket league going free to play has brought out so many smurfs, they had a soft rank reset and I was clearly playing Diamond level guys in Gold III as I went back to my normal Platinum II level.

Probably not, it's been a long time now since sexual content was really a big thing in mainstream games, there's probably an entire generation of gamers now who have never known a game you could bust a nut to.

You see the problem is they censored games that were trash (senran kagura) or things that were not games (visual novels)

You can't get people to care about garbage.

Case in point X-Seed just released jet Girls uncensored in the US, nobody fucking bought it and their 90 dollar special editions have had a 30 dollar price cut in a month. The game is fucking awful on all grounds. The racing cotnrols are shit, the level design is shit, and putting the main focus on boobs failed again because even the boobs are fucking shit.

The sequel already cleared the hurdles needed to get past the regulations and they're releasing official merch like this. Don't release shit games for the sake of softcore porn and you won't get hit, that's been the unifying thread in all these cases.
