Does anyone care that Chrono Cross is getting a remake? It's rumored to now be the first game in the series.

There is a real bit of excitement to finding interesting games, either for cheap or to just see them in person in the wild. I have a physical version of the majority for the games you listed and I found them in that time, mostly for great deals. Even things that I might not care about too much on their own are exciting when they are unexpected and cheap. I'm never going to seriously play a Fairchild Channel F, but when you buy a complete boxed one for $5 from grandpa's garage sale it's a story.

I absolutely agree with you. This atmosphere is worth a lot.
 
People forget that it's longstanding tradition to have a Playstation launch with crap.

This is why people are saying the PS5's launch wasn't bad because it actually came with games that many would want to buy under normal circumstances rather than just having something to play because it's a new system.

Finally, the Golden Joystick Awards worth watching that isn't scammed by The Last Of Us Part 2.
 
Kotaku put up their latest BOBBY KOTICK IS THE DEVIL article, and surprisingly gamergate is not mentioned even once in the article. Not surprisingly, they put up a photo of Mitch McConnell in the article, despite Kotick having nothing to do with politics or the government.

And then they wonder why no one takes games journalism seriously....

No, PS1 had a bunch of great shit going for it during the launch window. PS5 did not have something like a Wipeout, a launch game that really captured the mainstream imagination in trailers, commercials and news articles.

Not to mention Ridge Racer and Rayman. Japan also got Parodius, Twinbee, King's Field, Motor Toon Grand Prix, A-Train within the first month of the console (in December 1994).

Most of those were not particularly good.

A-Train is a city management sim and it's always been less than optimal to play it on a console. Early on in the console's life they didn't want 2D games for the specific reason of not having it be compared to the Genesis or SNES.

King's Field was one that got very mixed reviews because it's why the US got KF2 labeled as 1 because it was a vast improvement over the original game. The OG King's Field plays like a proof of concept.

What’s it like playing Bayonetta 1 & 2 for the first time? I used to remember the first time I see her, the first thing that came to mind was, “She’d be a wonderful librarian”.
