Are videogames for children?

I've bought Bioshock: Infinite for under $10. Its cultural theming with what appears to be American imperialism looks interesting to experience. Any Bioshock fans? I've never played it.
Throw the rock/potato at the negro when offered the chance during the opening. That's the game in a nutshell. Still like it though.

And the EU is just shit. They recently changed the law for working hours and the restriction is so dumb. Trade specific unions and collective agreements should set the rules according to the wishes of their members as it relates to their work, not the fucking brussel sprouts that have never worked a day in their life!

Not sure if anyone anyone here play sports games but NBA 2K24 is going to have fucking season pass.

To no shock, NBA 2K24 is shaping up to be a worse game than the recent three games of the Madden series. As someone that played this game series in my youth, I will repeat: this is not the NBA 2K that I know of.

I’m glad I saw the light after stopping at 2K18.

I always feel bad for fans of sports games, the licenses are always tied up with the shittiest companies, and there is not even a chance of an alternative.
To be fair, one can be like me and play endless hours of NBA STREET or NBA JAM. There’s always a way to just simply not play, and in this case, sports gamers can simply choose to play different titles that are not Call of Duty or Street Fighter 6-related.

Digital Foundry just released a video about the Switch port of RDR. It looks to be pretty good as well. Much cleaner and better looking than the 360. Nearly comparable to the PS4 port. Locked at 30 fps but it's the Switch so it's understandable. The Switch doesn't have the same hardware the PS4 has. When that physical copy releases in October I will definitely get it. I will be playing Undead Nightmare on the Switch. It releases in October so it's the perfect game to play during the month that has Halloween as holiday.

Native 720p handheld and 1080p docked. That's better than the 360 version. Then you can always play it in handheld where ever you want.

I wish they would just release the physical copy at the same time. I won't be buying the digital release and the physical release. If it was $30 I might. I'm not giving Rockstar $100 for the same game. I hope it comes with a little map in the Switch case.

So I've dipped until Gears of War: Tactics and was wondering if the mainline games would be worth blasting through (I.e. campaign only, dumb dumb run and gun difficulties). I've never really gotten into the franchise before so don't know if the story and set pieces would be worth grappling with some fairly outdated games.

The first one was fine, not great. The second one was really fun, they knew what they were doing at that point. Haven't played 3 or 4 but I liked 5. It becomes a pseudo-open world game after an hour or two, that's pretty fun.

I only ever played 1 and 2, but I remember them being pretty fun shooters. I wouldn't say the stories are anything to write home about. I know 2 got darker with Dom trying to find his wife, but it mostly felt cheesy to me. I had fun playing them in co-op and doing team matches back in the day. Just don't put it on Insane difficulty or whatever it's called, that shit is grueling.

The Hammer of Dawn is one of my favorite weapons in any video game ever. I think that the cover system in 1 would have had a bit more polishing, but I absolutely loved gears when it first came out.
I wouldn't say there's much replay value, but for it's time it was an amazing title.

The first one released on PC, but has the GFWL cancer.

It happened again.
If it isn't audible, he's saying "I want GTA6".
Can't wait for the next Gamescom/Games Award to either have riot police or some retard taking this too far and hurting himself in the process.

Holy shit, this Gamescom presentation is a death march. Long, long way to Mortal Kombat and Ara (the Civ/Total War mash-up,) the first stuff to perk me since Starfield.

Lol next up was a game is fart with a gross looking tranny mc with a fucked up voice.

didn't even pay attention, pondered for a second to watch it to see what's new, then decided shit's not worth my time and attention.

considering I literally saw basically no news or other headlines afterwards, not even on /v/ to shit on it, guess I was right.

EDIT: watched the future game show instead, actually saw a few interesting games:

I also didn't watch GamesCom. Judging from the Discords I'm in, there were two big things to come out of it.

The PayDay 3 trailer. The game looks fine, but PD2 started to die late in life due to DLC bullshit like payed skins and random loot crates. Given Starbreeze wasted all their PD2 money on a failed VR headset, I'm going to believe they'll try that again. Plus, my friend group won't play co-op shooters any more, so I doubt I'll get to enjoy it.

Robocop looks ok. It appears fine. Seems to be a standard AAA follow the objective marker type game. If they do something like Urban Chaos Riot Response or Judge Dredd vs Death it could be good, but I have no faith in AAA games these days.

There was apparently some more Starfield shown. I haven't bothered to check.

Some really good hands on at least. The Space Marine 2 one looks really promising

The balance between armor/health/glory kills is back, everything looks bloody and beautiful, and the flow of nids around the battlefield looks really, really good.
