Decided to grab a few other metroidvanias after I finished Ori 1 and 2, and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

After about four hours of Dust: An Elysian Tale (split over two days), I've completely lost interest in it. I'm glad I got it on sale, because I don't think I'm going to bother finishing it. The combat sucks and the story is boring. I got to a part where some side character I never actually met died, and I just skipped the cutscene of his kid mourning and then the following cutscene of his funeral, because I just couldn't give a shit.

I just realized Dust is where quite a few of the younger insufferable voice actors got their start. Barbaric.

They still do that in advertising internet speeds. You'll see questions about why "Gigabit internet" isn't giving you 1 gigabyte downloads online sometimes.

While most people should learn to fucking read and stop being so tech illiterate, it's still scummy for ISPs because I'm absolutely sure they know what they're doing by advertising it with that word.

Finally finished Hi-Fi Rush. Mid game with some problems that a now unlikely sequel could have fixed.

It was a little on the short side and the end game stuff feels like an afterthought to pad out the game. Something that wasn't necessary was the the bi-lesbian hint of romance between Peppermint and Korsica, where the game was doing good without introducing any romance other than that recurring gag of the robots, it just felt tacked on for extra current year points.

Iirc, they said they are removing rape references make it accessible in current year. This means one of the characters entire arc is all but destroyed.

Had to look up if that was a meme. Guess not. To the game's credit the environments, lighting and monsters all look nice but redesigning all characters into being as unappealing as possible is just baffling. Just why? They were already quite grounded to begin with.

Hard disavow. Angela is a good character that was both written and acted very well for her role in the original game and her backstory and the trauma she endured is pivotal to her story like you said. If they're willing to go that far in the name of being overly PC in a psychological horror title, what else are they willing to throw into the woodchipper? Eddie's episodes of animal cruelty? Angela's self-harm? What about Jame's own suicidal inclinations?

Obviously just speculating here, but if they're cutting out major story beats to be PC then a lot of it is on the chopping block.

Just to be clear, I've not been following the game closely. SH2 isn't one I really care about, so I could be completely wrong. I don't remember the source for the claim.

From the outset it's been hit with drama because people see SH2 as a classic, and any attempt to mess with it beyond a straight port is sacrilege.

One of the dudes involved did a huge doc drop. There's some hilarious disposition excerpts in the replies.

That's rough. Thanks for the link. When you couple it with all the developer statements there's just no hope for this one, no redder a flag than someone going "we want to be faithful to the original but we need to do some changes for the modern audience".

I can't seem to find that claim on my feed other than people finding that Hit Detection has offices in Tokyo and that his head consultant has privated his account.

This however, made me lost my shit.
