I downloaded Everspace 2 and I'm enjoying the overall gameplay, though I'm only a couple quests into the game. It has already made me laugh out loud at this, though.

Your first companion is a black dude named Dax and he mentions he had a moronic partner named "Maddocks". This is done completely straight-faced and I respect the commitment.

It was never great but it was interesting. People scoffed at it at release and it failed for a reason, then it became some sort of cult hit and people demanded a sequel that would (obviously) fail. I was one of the not-that-many people that bought it on release and enjoyed it. Not because it was good but because it was interesting.
Honestly on repeat playthroughs now the game is starting to click now. Its one of those games where you have multiple ways of parkouring through the enviroment and when you start to learn which route is the best one the game starts to really click. the problem looking back was the shit control scheme and the fact combat is not great, the story being a confusing mess doesnt help. If Were'nt for current year id love to see a remake with the original cut story and a revamped combat,a decent control scheme would be nice too.

Yooka Laylee is getting a remaster and it seems they're turning it into the game it (more or less) should've been.
I doubt this will adress some of the level design issues and one of my personal biggest gripes has been the designs of Yooka and Laylee themselves, they still haven't grown on me.
The main issue for me was also the character design, I don't like them much at all.

I didn't play N&B, she's not hideous? That's funny.
N&B Gruntilda is her skull after Tooie in some kind of suit. Its a pretty cool direction for her.

But the models for every other character look disgusting. Remember the polar bear from Freezeezy Peak?

Just found Path of Achra, it's a real gemmy and a half, tickles my autism just the way I like it.

I think the best way to describe it is that it's sort of a roguelike autobattler? I don't think calling it an autobattler does it justice though. It's all about theorycrafting a build for yourself, as opposed to making tactical decisions- if you enjoy building combo decks in mtg or theorycrafting builds in POE or whatever, you'll love it.

The aesthetics is nice little pixelart and the flavor is that you're a champion of one out many gods (you pick) that evoke the Canaanite deities in design and naming while you wreck shit in a hellscape full of pillars of salt and dung, it's great, especially for 10 bucks on Steam.

Yes, and its delicious. Never for one moment did I believe that a cute Japanese girl uwu was talking to the resetera-verse and being proven right is as rewarding as always.

Yeah I agree. It didn’t fit. Cute Japanese girl dating a head honcho at Atlus and leaking info to a bunch of white nerds on Twitter for what exactly? Greasy Simps? It just didn’t make sense to me.

Also responses that just seemed a bit too “perfect” iykwim

I still find it wild that not even Vimm’s Lair was safe from actual corporations trying to send cease and desist letters to remove their famous and cherished games.

Even more so that Lego of all corps came in, too.
Vimm's owners must live in a developed country where corporate lawyers can reach them. Wild these copyright holders hadn't DMCA'd the Lair sooner.
