Yes, and as far as I can tell, there are no signs of any woke retardation to be found. Heavily steeped in Japanese culture and iconography. The main female character is attractive and there were no signs of useless and recently inspired sexuality, politics and whatnot. The game seems to be from a bygone era.

Yep, I'm surprised someone was able to convince the higher ups and CrapCom to greenlight his passion project. Probably was able to call in some massive favors. Would be surprised if this breaks even, though I would like to see that. But yeah, almost unbelievable that we are getting this kind of game from an AAA developer in 2024.

I don't know, but if their past is anything to go by, it's getting the rights to some obscure game (or in the case of Shantae, paying for the game to be finished) and then making the only way to get it be through one of their physical releases. I don't know if they still do this, but LRG used to under supply their games. Even pre-ordering wasn't enough because those that did bulk orders (ie. scalpers) got priority.

I'm really curious what the future plans are for smash, will they just port ultimate? Can they even do that with how many licenses are tied to that game? Will they scale way back and become lame like every fighting game has?

Porting isn't necessary if it's backwards compatible (though both Wii and Wii U received new Smash games, so it's expected Switch 2 will be the same).
The original DS could only play physical GBA games, not GB/GBC ones, at least not officially. Then the DSi dropped support for the GameBoy Advance. It can run games still via flashcarts with performance issues, and I bet it's because Nintendo could've removed the processor that handled GBA compatibility in earlier DS models.
The GB/GBC games had a unique processor that the GBA had internally but wasn't in the DS. It makes some sense on some levels but Game Boy Color games were still popular (into 2002-2003, there were still Game Boy Color games on store shelves; after all, it was 100% compatible with GBA).
The hybrid form factor of the Switch is more an answer to the fact that home consoles had reached a point of diminishing returns while portable consoles (including Sony handhelds) were naturally catching up and progressively narrowing the gap.
I have fond memories of QuickTime and .mov but it's a deprecated format that doesn't play in-browser so I re-added it in MP4.
