Minor happenings in the world of indie games:

Channel37 put out a game in (Way Too) Early Access with full retail pricing and their first major update is an absolute shitshow. The Discord is currently rife with people reporting new issues from it and optimization is ass (my friend's water cooled 9 fan PC sounded like a F-35 on takeoff) because the damn game is barely past the state of being able to compile and run.

Not surprising. The average gamer under 30 would flip the table, throw the controller and cry for mommy the first time they found out there wasn't a 4k walkthrough or a godmode cheat when they got stuck.

I sincerely hope that the upcoming unaffordability/unavailability of high-performance computers forces people to fire up some of the better retro titles and discover all the hidden gems.

What was the last game you actually enjoyed playing ? What genres do you like or is there something that you usually don't play, but it looks interesting ? I am not familiar with Destiny but from my understanding it's a grindy game, so if you like that why not play something adjacent ? Or maybe if you only play MP just switch to SP games ? Or maybe take a break from gaming for a couple of days or weeks, that can help to enjoy it again.

I don't think sales are shit, more often than not underwhelming. But you can still get great deals if you keep looking. Are you using something like gg.deals, wingamestore, greenmangaming etc. ?

I wanted to play a couple of different things recently, but sort of got stuck with World of Warships. It's fun grinding for new ships, combat feels nice and different depending on the class of ship.

Fate Samurai Remnant which I was close to finishing before but ragequit when I got softlocked in the final chapter and didn't have a backup save.

Me and my buddies got it when it was given away for free on epic and we had fun (it was before any dlcs were released i think so idk how good are they) and on 3rd party sites keys are below 6euros (but no refunds) so solo is probably not worth it.

Its fun, basically l4d with a progression grind and classes. PvP is unplayable so dont get it for that. l4d does almost everything better but the way it handles hoardes is more like a tower defense game and it does it pretty well.

Dont waste points on prestige just grab skills you are going to use and then upgrade weapons because unlocking suppressors asap is important.

I haven’t played it but I’ve seen it in the PS plus library if you’re on console. As is Days Gone, which is also a zombie horde killing game if that’s what you’re into.

I recently got a PS5 and fell in love with Astro bots playroom and wanted to get the full game, the digital is fucking 80 dollars??!?! Luckily it went on sale today but wtf, the physical edition is almost half the price of the digital. I may have screwed myself getting the digital edition PS5 :'(

Yeah I'm more of a PvE guy, I don't care about PvP. I was worried about the state of the playerbase in 2025 since the game came out 4 years ago.

Sorry I'm a PC player, lol.
As for the physical copy these days you need to make sure that the entire game is actually on the disc.

its got crossplay so its still active. Also its getting another expansion soon with a walking dead campaign. Which is funny cause its already a liscensed title. But yea if you have an itch for a zombie hoard shooter, youll have a good time.

What do you mean? They surely can’t sell incomplete games? Or do you mean without additional DLC content?

I looked into CD keys where you can get digital games a lot cheaper but that seemed sketchy so I’m happy it went on sale today lol.

Days Gone is available on PC too btw!
 
For the divinity games, should I get the bundle that has all the Divinity games from Divine Divinity->DOS2 or just DOS1/2?
Is Dragon Commander any good?
And since I'd probably be moving onto BG3 after DOS2, what's the best way to play the original two Baldur's Gate games?

The maps are actually really fun, as long as you have at least one buddy even with bots its very fun. Most of the people sit in higher levels now or play the tower defence maps (really fucking fun) You can get your prestige up really quick as there is a completed save floating around from the devs due to some old patch shenanigans wiping peoples saves.

Anyone else playing ball x pit i'm enjoying it but wondering when i give up because the grind is so boring?
