I played one of the older Thief games and they were kinda boring. The stealth genre in general is hit or miss.
Decades of Thief fan missions have improved on the formula and taken the engine to its limits... some Frenchman used source code for the engine to create several fan patches starting in 2012, allowing for much more complex levels.

For example, The Black Parade campaign:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly. I gave G.A.M.M.A. a shot and absolutely hated it. What is it with "immersive and realistic" mods having some of the most immersion breaking and unrealistic mechanics/features imaginable?
The sole purpose of "realism" in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is to make the experience more miserable. Every piece of "realism" that should benefit the player (such as veterans carrying supplies or weapons in good condition) is sacrificed for the sake of "balance", because getting an M82 and an Exoskeleton in your first week would trivialize the game and throw the hobo phase out the window (even though you won't have the money to keep that equipment in good condition anyway).

>Nintendo Switch: We hare having a SUPERCHARGED sale on some of our games!
<Only takes off $10
These faggots are so stingy with their 1st party titles, it's unreal. Every "sale" they've ever had, regardless of what adjective they stick in front of that word, they always ONLY take off $10 on their 1st parties.

I don't mind things like limiting high end gear for "balance" so much but GAMMA goes a step further and removes the ability to buy or sell ANY weapons and armor from traders. I get that the intent is to make the focus scavenging but it's completely nonsensical and the in game explanation for it is incredibly immersion breaking.

dmc 3 was heart pumping, i cant get the same feel from dmc 5
DMC3 is the best game in the series but 5 is also very good in spite of my problems with it (I.E. the demon and level design, shafting of Lady and Trish, Nero's combos still feeling bad when compared to other characters). Unpopular opinion: even though he was obviously not as fleshed out as Dante and Nero, I still like what V's style of play brought the game. He still feels extremely powerful and stylish if you know what you are doing, which is what all Devil May Cry characters should feel like.

It was especially weird that Trish and Lady got shafted as playable characters in 5 considering the whole boss bitch girl power thing was really in style at the time.

Maybe Capcom knew they'd have to cover them up to comply with ESG and didn't want to deal with the backlash.

It's so funny that Kate Higgins has been the voice of Lady longer than Kari Wahlgren has, but I always just think of Kari Wahlgren as the voice of Lady because she voiced her in the only game where she's actually relevant to the story.

The problem with V is most of his moves do no damage and then a select few do too much. He's only in 3 missions, 5 if you include the optional ones where youll never pick him. And he gains no new moves leaving him with very little complexity, at least one more summon to juggle wouldve been a good addition, especially since we'll never see him in another game and dante and nero both got late game additions to their kits that are intended for ng+. Even weirder is that vergil who already has multiple ultimates gets a V move.
DMCV is just a very casualized title in general, enemies aren't that aggressive, most can be juggled for free and and the game is much slower than previous entries even on turbo, it's just a simplied version of 4
Also Bayo 3 and Astral Chain just had better puppet mechanics and came around the same time.

Bayo 3 and Astral Chain
Speaking of Platinum, any Kiwis have suggestions for some of their other games? I've beaten Bayo 1 and Metal Gear Rising a few times before and tried to emulate MadWorld once. Do they have any titles that get kinda overlooked?

Wonderful 101, best action game ever made. As overlooked as can be. And since 2 Hideki Kamiya games have been cancelled its still his most recent title.

Not necessary, but if you want a little bit of a starter course you can watch part of this.

guys what games are you playing
The Outlast Trials. I got it last month when it was game of the month on Ps+. It’s fun, but very challenging for me as I have 0 sense of direction. It’s like playing hide and seek with murderous psychopaths while solving frustrating puzzles. My only issue with it is the gore. They can tune it down by 50% and it would still be too much. I tried Dead by Daylight too but it seems kinda dated in comparison.

What are you playing @9 IRON TO THE BALLS ?

I wasting a lot of time mindlessly on Warhammer dark tide, idk why but its very fun to me and it has started made me question whether I am a shabbos goy

Other games I am trying-
1. Pathologic 2
2. DmC 5
3. Command and Conquer 3
4. Half life opposing forces

I fell for the Metal Gear Rising hype. Annoying parry system, infuriating camera (which is extra annoying when the parry requires you to move the direction stick in the direction of said shitty cc=amera), God damn endless cutscenes, shitty instructions that make you go track down guides to actually explain how mechanics work, an ability on the skill list is quite literally wrong and listed as up up x when reality it's up down x. Embarrassing,

As far as I know, you can re-enable the weapon traders simply by disabling two add-ons in Mod Organizer. But of course, it's another one of those shitty changes made just to make the experience more miserable. Unless you're a loot goblin who enjoys collecting every last scrap of trash and spending hours sorting, crafting, and micromanaging your bottomless stashes, you won't have any fun. In other words, you won't have any fun unless you're autistic lmao

I started noticing them on like my 4th or so trial, before that I ran around like a headless chicken. It’s amazing how much the brain (at least my brain) filters out in stressful situations. Reading signs and remembering what they said ain’t my priority when I’m being chased by the kinky BDSM cop 😭
