Finally trudged through the rest of Phantom Fury and good lord. Even if you ignored the bugs that would randomly softlock you or remove all of your upgrades out of nowhere, the game itself just goes to shit after the first couple levels. The last 2-3 are such an unfun slog I almost threw in the towel. This is my first experience with Slipgate Ironworks as a developer and it was not a good first impression. I've got another of their games, Wrath: Aeon of Ruins ready to play soon but this whole experience has kind of made me worry it'll just be another exercise in tedium.

I just think its funny as fuck they legit tried a gacha tactical third person shoot with girls in tactical cool gear and tried so hard to avoid the normal softcore porn games other gaches turn into. Its didn't work, and after a moderate successful summer swimsuit run dipped their toes into gooner bait.

And it saved the devs ass. The more they went in with the horny the more money they made to the point they could hire all new VA for the English cast (since the old ones left after refusing to be in a late night cinimax game). And now they are going to get shutdown a second time since they flew too close to the horny sun.
What's more hilarious? This is Seasun's only surviving cashcow. Mecha Break, their other live-service game, is going absolutely shit with bad balancing that has not been addressed since the start and it is only around 1k players since, on a game that has peaked around 70k players. If Snowbreak EoS'd, its game over for the Chinks there.

Speaking of Snowbreak

Actually speaking of Marathon. Let's combine the two

What if China- Korean men, here listen to me check this out. What if you had an extraction shooter, but instead of regular old guns and shit you are trying to loot and get out. What if you and everyone else were fighting over extracting HOT CHICKS.

There we go, saved Korea again. You can thank me later sub-Japs

Worst Korea's ultra-feminist movements, which are exponentially worse than Western Gender Wars, would literally go Hiroshima on a studio that dares to try to make such a game.

Then make it historically accurate. You play as vikings, the maps are all in the UK, different women will have different loot value and the guns came from a wizards time machine or aliens.

Was trying to emulate spiderman 2 with my new chink xbox 360 controller and realized it's the euro version so capped at 25 fps, i'm a retard. gotta download the US version now.
UPDATE: PIZZA TIME at 1080p with 8x msaa.

I just saw a clip of that Burnt Peanut guy for the first time and holy fuck he genuinely may be the most annoying person I've ever seen.

It's kind of like if you took Fleekazoid and removed all the jokes and humor but kept the yelling. I genuinely think I would rather listen to 40 year old OnlyFans girls pretending to be anime foxgirls. I can't believe zoomers get gaming takes from this retard.

Wrath: Aeon of Ruins
I've played a good amount of Wrath, I think you're in for the same level of frustration as Phantom Fury. Wrath is nowhere near as buggy, but yeah holy shit it feels tedious. Numerous enemy spawns in every outdoor room that are just a bit too strong, not great variety, and levels that aren't fun to navigate.

I really really wanted to like Wrath because I wanted to see some real cool Darkplaces Engine shit succeed, but I could feel the too-many-cooks issues just a couple levels in.

Yep, I got a couple hours in and threw in the towel. Can only handle so much Slipgate Ironworks.

Slipgate Ironworks.
That made me laugh at first, but then I went and looked at their wiki page and read the "Games Developed" section.

Everything Slipgate Ironworks has developed is a game that I was super excited about when it was announced, and then profoundly disappointed at what we got. RotT remake, Ghostrunner, Phantom Fury, Kingpin Reloaded, Wrath, Bombshell, and a couple others. Shit, since it's in the list, it wouldn't surprise me if they're responsible for all the parts of an old Tempest Rising demo I played that completely turned me off the game.

I don't see GhostRunner 2 in the list, though. I found GhostRunner 1 to be insanely below-mid, like if Hotline Miami was on rails but pretending not to be. Kinda gives me hope GhostRunner 2 isn't as shit if SGI isn't involved.

I've been playing a lot of Nioh 3 recently and I noticed that when you get near a giant monster the camera dynamically pulls back so that you're not stuck up the monster's asshole and unable to see.

I genuinely want an explain for why Team Ninja was able to include this feature but even after 15+ Souls titles Fromsoft can't.

At this point I assume the shitty fixed camera in Fromslop titles is intentional because they believe it makes the game harder or some shit.

idk if this deserves its own thread, but I just found some 100% unfiltered kino – a lyrical walkthrough rap album based on Cave Story. you'd think this would be some autist's shitty mumbling, and I thought so too, but then... I clicked one song at random.

Full playlist here.
It's also on Bandcamp, and here's the original /v/ thread I found this on.

That's something that really bothered me about the Souls games. In Elden Ring I despised radan because I couldn't see what he was doing when I was on the ground swinging at his ankles. I really wished for a zoomed out camera. And in their games less swording at someones ankles.

I've done very well at smaller bosses. Ornstein and Smaug, first try. Smelter Demon, first try. That's off the top of my head but I beat those because I could learn what they were up to and space myself accordingly before really engaging in the fight.
