So got into a really heated discussion at work about this and some really cool concepts came out of it. I figured hey, why not get my fellow kiwis in on it? It's a great way to nerd out and discuss some interesting choices. Of course there are a few stipulations, because fuck you, that's why.

1.)You can only pick something that appears in more than one game, and in other franchises, i.e. Super Mario has power-ups, but so does Sonic the Hedgehog so you could pick the ability to use powerups in real life.
2.)No picking 'I want the powers of Sephiroth' or stupid shit like that. God-modding is bitch tactic.
3.)Sorry, but you can't have unlimited lives/continues. Going with the classic motif, however, you can have three lives but you'd come back to life right where you died or you get one continue...but you have to start over at the beginning. Of your life.
4.) Powers aren't limited to things just like 'pick up flowers and shoot fire out my hands' or flying. You can pick a specific facet, like being able to wield stupidly huge swords with ease or hide behind cover to regain health.

I myself would want the power of inventory; carrying tons of stuff around without any weight constraints; like I could carry around a bunch of bottled waters or transport gold bars around like nothing.

As an unabashed fan of Alice Margatroid, I would love to have the ability that I've seen some places in the fanon dub "Soul-String Puppetry."

Essentially, the ability to magically animate and control puppets and channel magic through them.

I can think of another game that has 'puppeteering' as a skill so yeah, very interesting.

Save points.
I assume you use them to go back to previous points in your life?

I'd want to have powers from multiple games and switch at will or based on the context of a situation, like in the show ReBoot.

I want the Game Character Pocket Power.

Anyone who has played an RPG knows exactly what I'm talking about. The ability to somehow carry like fifteen different kinds of guns, 20 cheese wheels, four different sets of clothing, a gas mask, enough artifacts to start a small museum, thirty first aid kits, and somehow 1) be completely unhindered to an astronomical degree; and 2) somehow have all of these items on my person and no matter what happens to me, the stuff in my pockets never becomes damaged.

If that isn't available, then I want the weaponized smugness of your typical hardcore Silent Hill fan who loves two or three of the games, hates the majority of the other games, the movies, and the comics and yet still has the balls to say that Silent Hill is one of the best series ever.

Reboots more of a show but I totally see the appeal of a context sensitivity power like Conkers Bad Fur Day.

That's what I picked. Just being able to carry tons of shit on my person at all times with no weight involved.
