Ya know, we don't have a "general videos n such" thread in Multimedia so I figured I'd make one.

Mostly because a Britbong network (ITV) has been making some neat little trailers on their Great Characters. So far two are out featuring Roger Allam as his character DCI Fred Thursday from hit show Endeavour and Brenda Bletheryn who plays titular Vera Stanhope in Vera.

Pretty much all of Jan Svankmajer's stuff is neat. Here's his most famous one. My favourite is the one with the Stalin head but I can't seem to find that one at the moment.
This tickles my film bone, it really does. I love shorts. But I imagine that all but a few of the people of set hated every fucking minute of making it.

This scene in a film I love, Children of men is a massively long take - like 4 minutes....the Goodfellas Copacabana scene was only 3 minutes and that's legendary (for other reasons also....what a scene). Anyway this is an amazing high octane chase scene and during filming about 2m20 in a blood splatter hits the lens (you see it briefly) and the 1st AD actually shouted cut but nobody heard him.....so they kept going and you get what in many people's opinions is a fucking great and uniquely long take (they edited the blood out in post - hilarious to anyone who works in film cos saying you'll "fix it in post" is enraging to any editor - it's a lazy way of not doing your job properly during the production process)....a unique video not worthy of its own thread but I love it...

Does anyone ever watch Weird Paul's videos? I suppose there's something in it where I'm thinking, at least someone thought videotaping themselves as kids in the 80's at least didn't go to far to waste once a platform to share it happened. I just noticed his recent one of him and his friends performing a Led Zeppelin number that brought a smile to my face!

"Rabbi Sid - The Rappin' Rabbi"

This novelty rap song got played often on Montreal radio in the mid-to-late 1980s. I want to say it was on Aaron Rand's old show on the now defunct "AM 60" (CFCF 600) though I was only a tween at the time and I'm not 100% sure about that.

Here's an interview with a grandson of "Rabbi Sid" (real name Jerry J. Glantz).

The video opens with stock footage of New York City from a helicopter but I think the video itself may have been shot in Montreal. The Jewish community in Montreal is centred in Cote St. Luc, west of downtown Montreal, but some of those streets look Outremont-ish. I'm not sure where that park with a pedestrian bridge over a creek running through it is, though.

Actual effort ☑
Long ☑
Multi-part ☑
Isn't just one second repeated 10 times, ear-raped, or reversed multiple times throughout the video ☑

I don't know why, but computer restoration videos are endlessly satisfying.
