There was a bit of a situation in Mike's discord server.

The mods added a new rule against streaming in the server, it effectively removed vc entirely. They say it's because "moderating vc is difficult", apparently you are supposed to nanny all of your members, because they could say mean things or something.
The instant reaction was "why" "this makes no sense" "why is vc gone"

One of the members was particularly fucked over with this, because he would do game nights with other members, a very common thing for losers people to do in discord while hanging out with others. because sure, you could DM people to join, but picture yourself as a discord user that doesn't really know the 500 or so members of a server. You'd be effectively stuck to voice chatting with people you already know.

Either way, this post seems like a load of nothing so far, but what really bothered me about this situation is how Mike singled out this member after he said he's in the server for the community

I would complain about how the server is run, but I genuinely don't care, it's all full of trannies and utter losers. But Mike reacting like this gave me second hand embarrassment
well im not in the discord myself so i dont have the full context i dont think this was out of the blue for know reason, on one of mikes mother streams he opened with a PSA cuz apprently there was some sort of drama between discord members, he didnt say what but i think it was some sexual harrasment shit that happened in the DMs, and people brought it up to both Mike and the discord mods and was basically like "resolve this for us/take my side" and he basically said the reasonable "this shouldnt be my responsibility fuck off"

I like Vinesauce because the streamers I follow (Vinny, Joel, Limes) tend to stay away from the hot button issues and just play video games. It's refreshing to see pure entertainment these days. If I want politisperging I'll just read A&N here or pop into Beanie Man's downward spiral.
Vinny has his brand of pseudoboomer humor, Joel is a salty ascended /a/non (meaner every day), and Limes offers nice relaxing streams usually of more lax games or things like Monster Hunter. Limes' cutesy schtick can get a bit tiresome, but her streams are small enough to offer decent interaction which can't be said of the mile a minute chats of both Vinny and Joel.

Video games and streaming is a hotbed for sexual deviants and predators (specially of the tranny kind), this is why moderating a 100+ people server that is open to the public is hell, people can just dip in and fuck shit up, but the real danger is the ones that pretend to be functional members of society, until boom someone is crying holy mary for being sexually harassed, and who gets the blame? the owner who allowed it to happen of course, having a big Discord server is nothing short of running a daycare of autistic manchildren and requires people paying attention to all the pockets it might have, otherwise shit like that slips in and finding it again takes time, this all for jannies who do it for free, is just NOT worth it man, having the Discord server was the first mistake Mike made, keeping it up is the second one.

Reading that stuff made me understand why some content creators opt for a sub only discord instead. Sure, retards can still get in as long as they pay up but compared to a completely open public discord you're at least putting some sort of gatekeeping in.

Mike's Discord server is not open, you have to go through a number of hoops in order to get in. I don't know the specifics as I'm not in myself but from what my friends have told me, you need to go through email channels with the mods or something to that effect.

Considering some of Mike's mods, however... that might be the problem.

It does stop a lot of trolls and predators but as long as there isn't a paywall they will be willing to go trough the hoops and more, paywalls are a very good filter for spergs because not many of them are willing to spend the money to just shit up a discord server, nothing willl stop the sexual deviants tho which is what they had trouble with

I guess the new Amnesia game is another example of "Vinny letting other people formulate his opinion on a game" streams. Literally 5 minutes into the game and he's already complaining about it. He even said before he streamed it that he mad mixed feelings on it before even playing it while playing Spelunky 2. Not defending the game, I didn't particularly care for the first one either.

Be fair, everyone I've watched play it had a miserable time. It's not very subtle and seems to not understand what made the horror aspects of the first Amnesia work

Just because the majority of people don't like something doesn't mean everybody should dislike it, I like the Army Men series of video games and all but a few of the games in that series are universally panned. I'm not saying Vinny can't not like a thing, I'm more pointing out his behavior of coming into the game already planning on not liking it and then within the first few minutes before even really giving it a chance start saying negative things about it. You can have a negative first impression of a game sure, but Vinny already seemed to form his impression of the game before even playing it.

I still can't believe I live in a world where Vinny was playing the same game as JaidenAnimations and fucking Daithidenogla. These names mean nothing to some, the same way Vinesauce does to plenty of others, but it's just crazy to see considering I rarely saw this sorta shit like, 5, 8 years back. Used to be only those in a group would do shit with each other, so a non group collaboration would be unheard of. Doesn't make it any less awkward, though.

Why does it seem Joel has been streaming just the most uninteresting stuff since maybe Spring of this year? Spelunky 2 is fucking boring. At least give me Dorf Season 3.

There are stll a few gems from time to time, like GTA Criminal Russia, which is as Joel-y as it can get.

Have you seen the general communication among most members of Vincesauce? Joel couldn't even align 3 other people for his L4D2 stream.

Among Us has indirectly been a fantastic networking tool for a lot of creatives under lockdown, as it's allowed for the most unlikely of dynamics and team-ups across the board. Take PDP. I don't think anyone ever imagined he'd play with James Charles and KSI. Yet here we are. Of course, you do have a downside; most creatives are socially inept. So when an investigation happens, you have some who are dead silent and add nothing to the game or others that scream constantly.

Perfect example of that being the PeachJars chick in tonight's stream. Also, I did say 5, 8 years back. 5 years back, the Vinesauce group wasn't just a name, it was actually something that existed and was way more often shown as a group than it is now. That's not to say nothing happens now, it's just it's clearly changed, as you said.

Joel has a tendency to read something in chat and take it out of context and then does what the person was trying to tell him wrong and then everyone in chat posts ONE GUY and the advice goes completely unnoticed or is brought up again after it's already too late. Even worse is when somebody tells Joel something wrong and he fully commits to it and no one ever corrects him or like 10 streams of Joel doing something wrong will go by until finally he notices people pointing it out. It's so frustrating and it happens so often.

I wonder which one of the participants could have possibly prompted John Fullsauce into making this statement and pinning it on the YouTube upload? Hmm...
