I've been enjoying Apathetic Empathy from Realign lately myself. I go back and forth between Another Light and Realign being my favorite album of theirs, but I'm enough of a Red Vox simp that I have all 4 of the vinyls they've released. Even Blood Bagel is a legitimately good EP despite the shitpost vibes of songs like Fuck and Vomit in the Ballpit.

So this is why the boys always tell us not to sub and instead wait until the charity event. I wonder what Vinny was making while he was still streaming full time.

The child and edgy teenager in me is satisfied that the Swedish metal streamer made $7,666 in a month. Actually glad to see these guys are doing well enough for themselves. Most everyone currently in Vinesauce or VS adjacent is entertaining and actually deserve their popularity.

Joel is from the Swedish north. A tigers stripes don't wash away and rain follows sunshine. It's a pessimistic culture, basically waiting to get fucked over once again. Plus, the cheapest tagliatelle was also the best, it was like a thick linguine.

It's really no wonder guys like him and Vinny straight up say you don't have to sub or do whatever. They're not retards with money, live within means and sock the surplus away for the inevitable end.

Re Twitch income: I'd imagine you have to hoard Twitchbux as much as possible, which is why Joel shops at Lidl and Vin streams in his kitchen. Imagine going out of popularity, or getting cancelled, or developing a disease that induces physical pain when you stream and just like that your regular income is gone. Streaming is not a stable job, especially in today's Internet landscape. Now you have to get a real job - employers are going to be skeptical hiring someone that hasn't done any real work in the past 5 years. Unless you know people in good jobs you'd have a hard time getting anywhere that doesn't pay minimum wage. I'd hope our guys would know that and work towards having savings so they can still survive. I know this is a Vinesauce thread, but Jerma on stream today said he would be putting some of his sub money into investments (here's hoping its not some meme coin) because he knows streaming won't last forever. I'd hope a lot of our other favourite streamers have a similar attitude.

Back to Vinesauce content, who's excited for new Red Vox? I liked Realign, but Vin said the new album is going to be Blood Bagel 2 iirc. And I didn't like Blood Bagel too much, mainly because it was very generic and felt dated. Would be interesting if it were a bit darker and angrier, rather than comical like Blood Bagel.

The Joel/Mike Geoguesser had some really funny moments, but I wouldn't lie if I said I didn't find Mike going on hour long anti capitalist rants on McDonalds and shit really fucking annoying.

Even Joel was a little nervous at times when Mike would just randomly go off. He tried to essentially make Joel feel guilty for liking McDonalds and Dominos. That said, Joel has chemistry with just about anyone, so it worked.

Both Vinny and Joel have stated that they live frugally, not specifically for the sake of longevity, but because that's just how they are. We know Vinny's got some significant savings, so I wouldn't be surprised if Joel hadn't done the same thing; he's all but stated that he could be living a lot more lavishly, and actively chooses not to because he prefers a simpler lifestyle.

Streaming is a "real job" when you have name recognition, and Vinny and Joel both do. Neither Vinny nor Joel could ever work in something mundane, like a generic office job, but to be quite honest that's not something they would have been doing even if their streaming hadn't taken off. If and when they do stop streaming for good, they have a lot of options behind the scenes of the e-celeb world to fall back on - for example, Joel is a fantastic video editor and was editing pretty much every Vinesauce highlight from 2011 to 2015 (and I mean EVERY highlight, not just his own). That's absolutely something he could make a career out of without changing his lifestyle all that much, and given his popularity and the quality of his edits, he'd make a pretty penny for it, too.

Gonna touch on a couple of your points.

Firstly, yes, twitch is unstable. Very. You can really only get a footing if you get enough hit productions (usually clips), and gain a loyal following. And yes, you can see it all crash down if you misstep one small bit. But I don’t think the act of getting cancelled is what does it…it’s giving in when you did nothing inherently wrong that’ll do it.
Secondly, Vin and Joel have more marketable skills than their streaming. Vin apparently edits well (as someone here said), and I’m sure Joel has other skills, too. And may even have real-world skills usable in non-technological applications. Physical stuff!

Now, about Red Vox. Vinny already said that the name of the album is Visions. It’s gonna have a SOUND similar to Bagel, but he didn’t say anything about it being WRITTEN similarly. If he was gonna do a Bagel 2, he would let us know.

Vinny has a history in public broadcasting with his old pre-stream stuff like the Labor Day special. He easily could fall back on that, between the connections he probably has in the NYC media and the editing and broadcasting skills he's developed as an Internet personality. Both Joel and Vinny could probably make it in music nowadays too, taking session gigs in between albums and stuff like that.

Streaming and YouTube is just media production in another name and if you know how to sell yourself, which you probably do if you are a successful personality, it's not hard to transfer these skills into something appealing for a traditional job.

[ramble about Joel editing an old highlight to remove Vinny saying a bad word]

Dredging this back up to say that I've unintentionally stumbled on yet another conspicuous edit. This time it's Bork Facade, and he cut a pretty significant part of the video too - 45 seconds - because he made a rape joke immediately followed by a bestiality joke in the original cut. There's a comment on the official highlight mentioning that bit from a year ago, and then a comment from 10 months ago saying that that bit had been removed, so I wonder if what's happening is that Joel goes back and removes particularly questionable jokes that could reflect poorly on himself (or Vinny, in the case of the CSGO one) every time a comment reminds him that they exist. The idea of him playing retroactive jannie with his own content is VERY funny to me.

I skimmed through the archive channel out of curiosity, and from what I can see it looks like only Drunk CSGO, Bork Facade, and Rollercoaster Tycoon were re-edited (someone else mentioned the latter a while back, though). I find it extra funny that he has not edited the Gaben Row highlight, but part of me wonders if that's because taking all the slurs out of it would cut this highlight down to, like, 30 seconds. Either way, I find this really funny.
