Opinions on the new Red Vox album that dropped a while back? Haven't been in the mood to give it a try yet

Card games are based though it feels like since Slay the Spire Vinnys been trying to find the same high and hasn't found it yet. Ultimately he just comes back to Spire in the end.
 
It isn't a Vinesauce stream unless he does no research and somehow has a version that is 3 years out of date.

I haven't watched a Vinny stream in a very long time but I like rock sometimes so I still listen to RV. Gotta say both Visions and Afterthoughts are the worst RV albums since What Could Go Wrong (that album still had Atom Bomb so I forgive it). Couple good songs but no cohesive feel and the tracks that aren't good are totally forgettable and lame. Maybe Realign was the tail end of their peak.
Idk; if you liked Kerosene's sad boi stuff you might like V & A, I don't like to listen to rock for that stuff.

quite good. it's a lot more disjointed since it seems to just be a supercut of songs that didn't make it on previous albums, but i liked what i heard.
it truly feels like there's a new degree of growth that comes with every new album and that is really all i want to see from a band. vinny has broken the curse of all tuber/streamer music being talentless drivel or gimmicky parody rap

pretty much anything he plays with jerma and ster is instant kino. those 3 guys really need to do more things together in general

I'm almost with you on this, there feels like only one albums worth of good material between them and it really shouldn't have been a double album.

Came back to this thread after a few months. A potential fling, wigsauce discussions, weird furry sexual fetishes, old Vinny and Joel clips, and Red Vox album discussion? Good shit fellas.

On Red Vox: liked the album for the most part. I'd say at least 50% of the album was a hit in my book, which is honestly better than most of the crap that comes out nowadays. Big fan of Forgetter, Jumped the Gun, Playing by the Rules, Saturnine, and Almost A Stranger.

Wonder if we'll have a Summer Charity Stream this year? Guessing yes after taking the last year off and just doing some smaller ones.

I've been sick for far longer since there was a time a few years ago where some sped kept harassing discord servers trying to leak a ton of dev builds, and playing one of them made me think "wow I really don't need a whole game based on holding R down in Wario Land 4"

Agreed. I think his very best was during 2014 - 2016. I think it was part him being able to act completely candid at that time and also the atmosphere of the Internet then -- it's hard to pinpoint the reasons exactly, but that boy was just weaving gold left and right, and there were a lot of pretty solid artists in the community that would make cool and fun stuff out of the in-jokes. You could just tell he was having so much fun with streaming then. His Tumblr posts from 7 - 8 years ago are a nice walk down memory lane. It's been a while since I've watched him regularly, but a lot of the new schticks and memes feel ham-fisted. Still love the guy, but it's just too jarring for me. BBQ Quest 2 never.

I actually discovered Vinesauce through the pre-written skit stuff that Vinny used to upload a long time ago, like the Mario Show dubs and the Douk Nouk Kems. I didn't even know Vinesauce was mainly a video game streaming show thing for a good while. Besides Vin's dry humor, the crew interacting with viewers in a down-to-earth way and playing weird obscure stuff on their own accord is what drew me in. It gave me the impression that they were all pretty humble and grounded people who genuinely just loved vidya and that was pretty cool.

I watched Vinny's reaction to the new Breath of the Wild trailer and him seemingly having forgotten that the original champions died is some peak Vinememory. Alternatively he forgot that Age of calamity is an alternate timeline.
 
I watched the VOD of MyHouse.wad, and it just hurt. I don't really watch Vinny stuff outside of the occasional Sunday stream collection, but this interested me because its a funky doom wad that does cool stuff. Too bad Vinny is incapable of paying attention to the game he is playing and forgot stuff immediately or blinded something way too many times. He ended up just having chat tell him everything to do, even the simplest thing he's asking chat what to do like an autistic baby. I should have just played the wad myself tbh. I didn't realize Vinny got this bad, I guess because I usually just watch the weird Sunday stuff
