For whatever reason Vinny has abandoned the Vinesauce moniker on official highlight channed. Anyone happens to know the reason?

Anyone happen to know why this was privated and reuploaded? I was in the middle of watching the original upload when it happened and didn't notice anything more sussy than usual
EDIT: Never mind, I think it was just DMCA crap. Copyright and its consequences something something

No that's not it, it was because of this funny and frankly understandable message left at the bottom of the video:00071.jpg

The shit with copyright claims over music is fucking ridiculous on Youtube. I still remember some jackoff apparently sending Gwyn's Theme to some music management company (which did no vetting), who threw it up on Youtube under his name. So then, because the company had whatever distribution deal with Youtube, you had a whole bunch of Dark Souls videos getting retroactively hit by copyright/Song ID bots years after upload because it happened to have the final boss's track in them. What a joke.

It's unfortunately all too common on Youtube, especially video game music. If the song isn't put into the ID system by its creators then anyone can have it start thinking random covers and remixes are the original song and flagging everything. It can even flag videos because it thinks 2 seconds of audio is a completely unrelated song sometimes, it's terrible.

It can happen with footage too but since the user (that youtube decides owns Mario 64's ending cutscene) has to request the takedown for that themselves it isn't a big issue for most people.

2 Days ago Vinny did a very short segment before the stream explaining why stream VODs would disappear or never be uploaded.

His explanation for why he doesn't just avoid playing copyrighted music is a bit vague but I think the gist is "The whole copyright detection system is broken and bullshit anyways so I don't care."

The blame is all on Warner, Universal and Sony and agents of each musical artist. I think that's a better explanation for why you're not allowed to play even two seconds of a copyrighted song without permission from the original artist or record company.

Not to mention a lot of sites just allow them to do whatever the fuck they want without even giving a reason.

SoundCloud gave the keys to the site to Universal Music Group a long time ago, so if you decide to remix a song from their catalogue, even if it falls under fair use and it's transformative, too bad, your shit's gone without any reason, and you can't dispute it.

Which explains why the whole Soundclown subgenre of music had died by 2016 or 17 and needed to migrate somewhere else until UMG ends up fucking them over again.
