Jerma is vinny if he bothered fucking engaging with his chat. Think for a moment how much of Jerma's memery and references are one guys or chat engagement. Vinny? "SOMEONE FROM CHAT SAID-" or acting like chat is one singular person. God fucking forbid he goes "youre funny and contribute"
I don't really care that much about the "someone from chat" shit. IMHO if you're going for a parasocial approach, you'll rake in the the shekels, but you'll lose your "soul" (and also a bit of your sanity in Jerma's case) in the process. Might as well shill out for DEI and LGBTBBQ and cement your status as a grifter while you're at it.
If you're going for streaming "career" lmao, the best thing is to keep a wall of "professionalism" between you and your audience. There were several accounts of groomer discord mods, internal drama or #MeToo shit, (which actually happened to Vinny despite being false allegations, it was documented in this very thread) when streamers engaged with their audience to an unhealthy level.
Not to mention turning into a cow, like Hasan Piker. I know, an extreme example, but you should know what I mean.
My explanation would be, that he was burned once with the false allegations years ago and is actually a bit wary of his audience. With the furfags and especially the trannies, I can't blame him. If he utters a word or a single sentence that could be misconstrued, he's going to be hounded down and forced to grovel to the heckin' wholesome trans cause. Otherwise he's fucked and will definitely lose his Twitch channel at minimum.

Silence is violence. I can see the lack of addressing it becoming either the cause of a tranny attack or the catalyst for a tranny to use their welfare powers to try and fuck with Vinny.

His channel would be less enjoyable if he interacted with chat. They're retarded zoomers and gen-A desperate for his parasocial attention, and the few times he interacts with them, it's always an annoying waste of breath.

He's good because he mostly doesn't stream for the audience; he streams because he appreciates a game and wants to share his appreciation. Sadly he's broken this philosophy more often lately, resulting in him not enjoying himself, and the video quality suffers for it.

And people in this thread give me shit for talking shit about him?
Piggybacking off your comment from a couple pages ago about him treating streaming like a job, there's this comment going into full detail:

I had idea he was paying that many people. Thought it was maybe 3 or 4.

Honestly, "Vinny tries working at a steel mill" would probably be more interesting than stuff like "Vinny eats frozen slop" or "Vinny plays with 'friends' again."

I guess that total includes the people who vet game packs + johnny + main channel editors. I'd do all that shit myself to save even $5 so call me a Jew I guess

I do not think Vinny has enough time to do everything himself and it seems like now more than ever him having enough money to pay people to do things he could do himself is an issue.

Considering how long Vinny has been around, it's remarkable that he hasn't slid into the shameless, guilt-tripping e-begging that the vast majority of youtube/twitch people start to do when they see the line go down. Of course if I were him I'd leave NYC but that's probably hard to do with family there.

The thing I don't get is why that many? Does he pay some of his moderators, too? Even big channels that rely on editors and scriptwriters for some don't use even half of that. Also:

You're saying that as if he isn't doing EXACTLY that in that screenshot during the second paragraph. You can say it's being said more matter of fact than anything, but it still boils down to "I want money and lost a bunch of money please don't yell at me for trying to get more money using tactics I would mock in the past".

If anything, he probably still has some war flashbacks from when he opened up a Patreon account shortly after quitting his public access job to transition into full time streaming— and that happened around this same time 10 years ago. There were some viewers that thought he was being irresponsible with quitting his job without a solid plan, and there were a few others complaining that he was being greedy with taking donations in the first place. Even though the complaints seemed to have come from a small majority from what I remember of those days, it was still enough for Vinny to feel guilty about asking for donations and he closed the Patreon account altogether.

Yeah, he's talked about viewer numbers lately and it's been a little bit grating to hear about, but at least there's an understandable purpose behind the recent algorithm pandering. It's not like he's starting every video with his Youtube and Twitch analytics on screen or reopening donations and bits. I'd honestly feel more uncomfortable if he was being blatant about asking for financial help if the distributor bankruptcy thing didn't happen in the first place. If he's gotta go full SPEEN and attention whore for a few months to recoup the costs and pay the Vinesauce payroll committee their fair share, I'll take that over reading donations every 2 seconds on stream and a Soylent/NerdWallet sponsorship in his future videos lmao.

He's exhausting, he's unfunny, and I grew out of him years ago. I can barely even bother with his stuff at 2x speed, and [insert some other goofy shit that I insist on sperging over etc. here]
...and yet you've made a handful of other posts after this one from a few pages back and are still here yodeling. Never change, Kiwis. :story:

I've made, including this post; 5 contributions to this thread in the past year, I think. All of them within less than 5 pages. If that qualifies as obsessive considering the shit you guys were pulling not even 20 pages ago over gay jokes in a CDI based fangame, then go right ahead and keep calling a kettle black.

I don't get how he can afford NYC anymore, does he live with his family or just around them? His streaming isn't huge anymore and I doubt it makes nearly as much money in the current day, even if his audience was as large as it used to be. What is he actually making in gross income from his Youtube and Twitch?

Vinny got popular when he was already well into adulthood, so he probably had the good sense to invest his money smartly, that's my guess. He doesn't seem to live extravagantly, either.

Can anybody help me grasp how Vinny lost so much money with the distributor closing? I remember hearing about that, but surely he couldn't have lost any product in the meantime right? Is he just referring to lost potential gains?

So, SCP had this thing where they'd collect debts through IOUs, which was a bit messy. They needed investments to keep their product rolling. But instead of using that money wisely, they'd use it to pay off old debts to content creators. Then they'd make and ship the product, but the profits from sales would just go back into paying off more old debts. It was a cycle that couldn't sustain itself, and eventually, SCP went belly up.

Vinny got caught in the mess, and didn't even get paid for a large portion of the product he sold. Now, he's stuck with the headache of moving the product to a new warehouse and footing the bill for the transfer and storage.

And get this – SCP started dabbling in all this tech stuff like crypto and NFTs, which probably didn't help matters. Rumor has it the CEO even offed himself. Nobody really knew how messed up their system was until it all came crashing down. It's a wonder it lasted as long as it did with all that chaos going on behind the scenes.

The most based thing Vinny still does is not acknowledging individual chat members by name. I wish he would stop responding to them in general but it's better than Jerma looking at his disgusting chat more than the game he is playing. Vinny comes across as bored/disinterested but at least he's not completely brain-dead.

At least Jerma doesn't bang his chat.
