I am just waiting for the day that Vinny's mind shatters into tiny pieces and he finally succumbs to the gamer curse and becomes a woman. You all laugh now, but one day he will start a stream with [his] webcam showing off [his] new long frilly dress and high heels and refer to [himself] as "Rinny," and it will be beautiful. 🌝

In other news, gloop.

Apparently, Meme House Part XV has already aired, but I missed it because Joel didn't bother changing the stram title from Animal Crossing I have no interest in. Good job.

You didn't miss much from what I've seen, he fucked around for like two hours trying to create CDI Zelda and the Hyrule castle.
VOD is also available on twitch.tv/vargskelethor/videos.

That's exactly where I found that out, accidentally pointing a cursor on preview and seeing Sims 4 interface.
CD-I Zelda household kinda reminds of earlier parts with less blood and action, that's still fine. Joel also made a shitty Sonic, during which all the chat was making references to blue arms, and when he brushed it off, chat started laughing at "he doesn't know" moment. I'm pretty sure he knows that very well, he did references to Chris a long time ago, for example, by drawing him in alltogether image of early days Vinesauce.

Honestly, I know we joked a lot about the Vinesauce audience being really young these days (especially when they think things like Chris Chan is this ebin thing Joel possibly can't know about), but I'm starting to think we actually underestimated how young most of them are nowadays earlier in this thread.

When Vinny played his Java phone game section last night, you literally had some people go "phones looked like this????" and others "that was a thing????". Mind you, those games came out mostly in 2005-2009. Although... I think it just hit me that someone born in 2005 is already potentially 15 now LMAO, Jesus time flies.

To be fair, phones like that were completely skipped by a lot of people, normal flip phones never had those full-assed java games they sold at a kiosk in CompUSA, and enthusiasts were busy trying to make windows ce a thing. At least thats what I personally witnessed back in the day.

Wasn't Doom RPG from this era of cell games?

That's interesting to hear, (TMI) here in Europe those kind of games were really popular for flip phones and you'd see them advertised on the back of magazines (like when you buy a Spiderman comic there'd be an ad for a new Java Marvel game etc.) or on the back of some PS2 game manuals (God of War , Splinter Cell and Ratchet & Clank come to mind).

Same for Russia, many youth-oriented magazines advertised phone-related content (games, gifs, wallpapers, ringtones) on their backs. You were supposed to get it by sending an SMS to a short number, which might cost you from tens to hundreds of rubles from you phone bill. Then you just get an SMS with a link to download a file you requested, which is useless if you don't have GPRS set up, and even if you do, you can download all of it for free from dozens of WAP sites. Haven't seen anyone ever considering trying that out over the age of 11.

Joel just got Raymond forced onto him in Animal Crossing, by the game. What fun!
He took it like a champ, he was made aware and managed to deter the horny furries by turning Raymond into the most unsexy furry of them all, Garfield

TMI but When I had a flip phone back in the day (family plan I think) the only games I had on it was snake and I think brick break, and forget going on the internet on those phones. I do remember Elf Bowling being a bit of a thing on phones (but it was quickly ported to the DS or GBA? I don't remember) around Christmas for other games but that's about it. All else I remember is being pinched almost every time i'd close it

I had a pirated copy of Doom RPG and a GBC emulator on my Razer back in the day. Doom RPG actually holds up as a mobile game and I wish they'd port it somewhere, but there's a very similar game called Orcs & Elves on the DS. Like most phone games I barely played any of them though.

More related to Vinesauce, Vinny also played a new high-effort fan game and I love those. Stuff like this and Grand Dad Mania that put a ton of effort in a shitpost strikes a chord with me.

Honestly nothing will be more legendary than the Terminal 7 mod for Half-Life. That shit was a journey.

I had a slide phone that had guitar hero, snake, and some other game back in the day. They were slow as shit so I never bothered with them. I had internet access with it and I believe the homepage for my browser was limewire. Never went on there too much because I thought that accessing the internet would cost a shitton and I wasn't the one paying the bill, so you know.

Whatever happened to that fan game made by breadotop? It had some really good concept art and lore behind it, and then was suddenly abandoned. I was hyped for that shit too. *sigh*

Has anyone on this thread donated to Vinesauce is Hope, not trying to get power-levels, just wondering.

I tried applying for the charity volunteer, but never got word back so i assume i was just denied.
But after thinking about it i figured i'd just enjoy the show, wrangling spergs would just drain all the fun from it.
As for donations i don't have that kind of money but im happy with doing art for it.

I did last year on the PCRF stream, also usually order the pins to collect. Haven't for any of the more recent ones though, don't have it right now.

Also they teamed up with Chronogg to sell the streamers' game picks for the PCRF charity last year and that's where I grabbed Slay the Spire. Well worth the price.

I've bought pins for the last 2 years, since I got fucked over for conventions this year I've got a little more money to spare and I might go for pin and a vineshroom for the upcoming stream.

Does anyone else have a love hate relationship with Vinesauce is Hope streams?

It's complicated to explain but there's something great about them having a schedule for once because you can make sure to catch it at a reasonable time (instead of the middle of the night) but on another hand (especially) Joel's streams don't really work out as well as they usually do because the chaos factor is missing and he shines when he can be spontaneous rather than stick to a fixed time slot (which ironically enough has been demonstrated even during ViH in the last years since Joel always got an extra 20 minutes or so).

But yeah, I plan on donating again this year. Hopefully there will be fun merch as well.

This is true for all the streamers, usually they have all the time they want and more on their regular streams, they can stream for as long as they want and in the case of Joel a complete random stream can turn into a 2 day odyssey of 10 hours streams of absolute madness with no warning, but the charity is a planned event with limitations and rules, if anything is a bit of a newbie friendly introduction to each streamer and their style (although it does hurt Joel in the way that his banter is often not safe for charity)
