General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

She is a grown woman, a bad childhood is not an excuse.
Agreeing with half mast here:
Still no reason to treat her more than anything other than a kid in a grown woman's body who made mistakes. It's no one's job to baby sit her, but treating her like an annoying sped for her mistakes isn't going to fix her.

This was also about a simple bad comparison. You can't compare her to a grown man choosing to do things for his own clout, to a grown woman who's experienced some harsh life and makes some mistakes.
It's a false equivalence. You're comparing an idiotic autistic decision that in the end only affected herself, made years in the past when she's barely started being an adult, to the autistic behavior in the present by a man trying to influence many people and use that clout for his own gain, affecting many people.

You know you can set your MSQ notification to be hidden until a new MSQ is available, right?
I'm more triggered by the multitude of bars with all of the class sets laying on the screen. Get yourself some collapsible hotbar macros son!

Plenty of people do that from what I've seen.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for a chocolate Raen with Returner status and that title though.

Actually, the pre-chat Discord group hates that guy's fucking guts and they're the ones who a-log him whenever he shows up. But I will agree completely that the group tends to take the Calli obsession a bit too far at times, so much so that there was a recent in-group callout over people not understanding what a parasocial relationship is, so while it does have some of the more "notable" Deadbeats participating in it, I would second that recommendation to avoid the group. Is your friend Revan? Because I know he left the group a little while ago and for good reason.

There's definitely more I could say about a few of the incredibly exceptional individuals in that Discord, but I'll leave it at that. One of them Rectum/Prolapse lurks this thread on occasion and he might have another meltdown if I went any further. It's just funny to know for sure that the pre-chat group is starting to establish a negative reputation among other fans.
Maybe my guy was wrong; and no, it ain't him. Not sure what his name on Youtube is, but it's Ravstar52. We also got Stormtag with us, but dude's hella inactive on Discord. I know a couple other people from the dedicated Karen discord who lurk here; there's a reason why I'm spending more time in there than I am in anything else related to her content. Main Mori is kind of a shitshow, and while the Karen server experienced a bit of growth after a merge with a different dedicated server, it's still an incredibly small group that's far less spergy than anything I've come across related to her following.

I'm also not exactly sure what happened with guy 2, but I heard it was kinda bad and pretty personal so I won't push further. I just hope he's alright, he seemed like a fine enough fellow.
She is a grown woman, a bad childhood is not an excuse.
She's made mistakes, yes, but she seems to be growing past them with her content and hasn't really been doing anything too compromising as much as we doompost about her. Domo actively does stupid shit and acts like a clown for clout.

No, you can't tell me for a moment that that's not happening behind the scenes.
There is not because there is no point on doing it, even when they all are in the same company their channels are like lets say their own rooms, they can visit each other or play with each other but at the best they do friendly competition (like the undokan) you dont see any other talent going to the room of other and trashing it, if you expect team siren shit you are looking to the wrong group, now in nijisanji and the indie scene well, backstabbing is pretty much a given, maybe im biased but i dont see cat fights happening in hololive

All the girls are in it for their own reasons but I do agree with this; they just want to help everyone else have a good time together. It's a very Japanese way of thinking to act on behalf of the group. The EN crew is mainly sectioned off only due to a language barrier, but if that weren't there we know they'd be interacting with the JP girls far more often. Haachama and Watson seemed to have hit it off fairly well, as did Moona and Kiara (although their first introduction was fighting each other.) Fubuki and Coco in particular definitely want to make Hololive the best it can be and Fubuki does so much to help out everyone else and the company behind the scenes that it's a wonder the poor girl is still standing after all that.

Also, real subtle, Playboard.

This is very sad and kinda creepy, how can you guys like her when you hate guys like Domo?
You're going to make me post the Dolemite clip a second time? Because "Bitch, are you for real?" is probably the best response to this.

She is a grown woman, a bad childhood is not an excuse.
Apparently, it isn't because I'm the only person who can see what is patently obvious.

Karen made mistakes, learned from them, and most importantly, started to produce content. In this case, rap. Over time, her technique has improved so her product has gradually but steadily increased in quality.

Domo is an influence peddler trying to have the head seat at the Cool Kids' Table that he and the other clout-chasers are trying to set up.

...

And that's it. No substantive creative content. No actual benefit for the talents or the community or anyone else. Karen produces rap songs. Domo & Co. create bottlenecks for entry so if you want in, you have to kiss ass, make nice, and look the other way when he or one of the other influencers tries to rufi-&-fuck your underage little sister at a convention.

Also, lurk, please? What is this, the third or fourth time I've linked this goddamn explanation of what people like Domo are like? Plus there's this addendum. I'm getting tired of repeating myself. You look like a veteran, here, but haven't actually read all of the posts full of enough information that you should be capable of a 7th-grade-level compare-and-contrast exercise to see the differences between the two.

I for one refuse to believe that hololive is some kind of magical rainbow land where strong personalities and mostly women can gather in one place and not clash. While not at the level of "backstabbing", drama due to personalities definitely happens. This may be hyberbole on my part but Fubuki used to refuse to collab with matsuri for a long time due to the later being an out of control raging lesbian basically.
Some of the more mature members of the group just either know how to hide it better or experience enough to work it out. Mio for example while doesn't have as much of a presence, is level headed enough to be the go-to person for settling dispute.

thinking they are that pure as seen on screen is too much, but i believe at least they have some pessimistic mindset on their mind, i think like some girl stated in their previous work when they made single or small mistake, "am i fucked it up?" due japanese being japanese.
hence even marine bring it up

and how anxious our doggo looking at situation irl
i think they all have a bit mindset like that, its not bad. but they might slightly thinking like that

at least what am thinking. Hololive already in a good pace at running, dont do it too fast! like Niji to keep recruit, otherwise cover might not able handle it sooner or later. they are still new company that running virtual idol, give it a rest. let yagoo learn more on stuff, even if it needed. gotta need to stop on recruiting for a while and focus on their talent. idk what gift Cover have to pick a good talent. that need to be keep

what make indie aint work is that they act too.. free (?)
yes they are indie for a reason but they dont seems bother to make a borderline what good and what not. + all their role model prolly an irl twitch streamer or streamer in general. while the only role model vtuber they can look at are japanese, BUT again they dont want to be like them, they want to be "Different". + the indie love drama ofc that alone already a ticking bomb ready to explode. avoiding twitter and discord prolly the best way indie might not get canceled, although that the only market that seems promising to keep promote yourself.

EDIT : Dumbass cant put link right

I'm not going to harp too much on this because Jaeger made my main points before I did, but how do you make this connection? I don't know Karen's past as well as some of the others here but, trying to compare Karen's desire to live in the cool weeb country in some sort of romantic fantasy to Domo's desire to control who makes it and who doesn't in a particular hobby seems like a hell of a reach, nevermind equating the two.

Unfortunately, I've had to resort to threadbanning a few users after warning people in this thread to stop posting full-sized images (the users in question will be able to post in this thread after a week).

How do you use thumbnails? I only see regular images in the options.

Edit: Aki Rosenthal probably going to hit 400k subs in the next day or so.

thanks themehouse.
Everything went to shit after n0ll changed them

I was going to comment on that. I don't think that name has anything to do with her roommate or anything, so I'm wondering why she seemed so nervous and panicked when it appeared on screen. Searching "Amiki" returned a bunch of info and pictures of a brand of sleepwear for children, so I guess it's cool that I've got that in my search history now, I guess.
I don't think so either, her real name isn't even close to that, at least. Doubt it means anything, but of course people will speculate.

A little bit of the mindset is good and sorely lacking among the western vtubers. I feel as though I am a guest in the world of vtubers and that things should to be based on Japanese standards, at least for the most part. I think the lack of that is what leads to the idiots whining about loli characters meanwhile you have some of the biggest vtubers talk about loving loli, hell even Winning Son Roberu said he likes Onee/Shota cause someone asked if he like Iida Pochi's manga.
Oh no, trust me, I agree that indies should adopt a Japanese mindset when it comes to standards of operation and engagement but that's just not gonna happen, it's way too different for them. Even the HoloEN girls really kinda-sorta don't do it unless they get tardwrangled after a stream by Enma or whoever, seemingly.

But yes they absolutely should stop the puritism and other such faggotry, and stop trying to cancel parts of Japanese culture in a predominantly-Japanese industry because it's seen as "weird" in the West. Like, no shit, stay in your lane.

Quick question, how the f*** were you guys able to discover who Delta is and who first discovered her and how?! It's simply just amusing. Seems she used to upload there loong ago.

Edit: Also, what's behind her showing and then hiding her streams? Just lack of confidence?
I found her through total happenstance, some other people I know were talking about Del and alluding to the Aloe Incident™ in rather clandestine fashion, so I looked it up and made the connection. As for her privating her streams and whatnot, she's still slowly recovering from the fallout and everything that happened. I dunno if you read the .txt file Deluxe posted a little while ago, which was a direct copy/paste from her Fanbox, but it, uh, was enlightening for pretty much everyone, as she told some stuff she'd never mentioned before to anyone there.

As I said, she's very slowly becoming more and more public. Shit, back in October, she had everything in full lockdown, including her Twitter (which is now public), and even her Discord server was unknown to pretty much everyone besides her most faithful inner circle (that is also now publicly available). She just did her first public livestream, which brought in a massive new amount of fans when they heard "that voice," so she's still making steps forward. I'm very happy for her and excited to see how she can grow.

I help and do my part as well, from time to time I'll comment on a popular Aloe drawing on Twitter and just say that I'm glad she's doing well and is finding success now. Then fans will ask me how I know and I'll vet them to make sure they aren't gonna start trouble. If I find them trustworthy, I'll send a DM with Del's info. I got her something like 100+ new followers in a day alone doing that a bit ago, lol.

is the only one i can think of where the corporate ones have better attitude than the indies
Voms seems to be doing pretty good, and I’d consider them indie. Also Shigure Ui and Kagura Nana. But the latter two have the advantage of being mothers for Hololive girls, so that may be the exception that proves the rule.

also don’t forget about the upd8 implosion which had Kizuna Ai and the Nanashi group under them.

VOMS or Pikamee? Because the other 2 girls get a fraction of what the adhd shark does, which sucks because they are great.

I agree, though Tomoshika is nearly at the sub level of mid-tier 2J3J tubers like Nishizono Chigusa and Hayama Marin. TMSK is about 110k, Monoe about 100k.

and they’re still well ahead of the VAPART girls.

i do hope Monoe blows up this year. She has the same comfiness as Ina, and she’s a great singer.
