I had assumed Cartagra was very important to Kara no Shoujo and had put off reading the full series until the remaster for it got translated.

Still hoping that HBR has a non-gacha version when the game inevitably goes EOS. It looks interesting and it seems like it's only getting better as time goes by.
From what I gathered not really, you have a couple of characters from it in minor roles (though it seems they get more time in the Kara).

HBR will probably have at least youtube to fall back into. At least it's seemingly in good position now with enough money on the JP side and Global being a minor investment of only translation.

Finishing Cartagra after Umineko made me really appreciate Knox's Decalogue—especially since Cartagra breaks one of the main rules. I wasn’t a big fan of some of the weird, forced H-content, but I did enjoy the plot twists. Caragra is just what Muv Luv is Muv-Luv Alternative for Kara no Shoujo. It just add some favor to the bigger story down the line. Ergo, its a thematic introduction, not a direct one, to the series.

Started part 3, like the new portraits. One thing that isn't talked about with Kara no Shoujou is that a good chunk of the older women are grade A waifu material.

I did a classic detective literature binge and read of the stories that originated few of the rules. In their defence they made good twists at the time, but trying to replicate it with a worse writer is bad, and in general they detract more than they add.

So, I just got Gnosia and got hit with the double wammy of having the option of being non binary and seeing 2 of the very efeminate characters be not defined as female or male. How much faggotry am I getting into?

Aside from that, did first 3 loops and it's quick and snappy, loop 3 introducing a gray took me for a loop in the good way. I'm also constantly voting and hounding to freeze peacock tranny because fuck it.

It sucks they're remaking it instead of making a new entry.

I still get chills when some of the OST comes on.
It has some of the best battle music I've ever heard.

Got a screenshot of this stuff? Glad I never bought that shit now. I was hoping it was like Raging Loop.

By the way, did you ever play the other Utawarerumono games yet?

Okay I've decided to go into SciAdv next with Chaos;Head. I'm still in chapter 1 but I've noticed that a lot of people online seem to really hate the MC in this one. tbh I vibed with him immediately because he kinda reminds me of what I was like in high school.

Also half the discourse seems to be zoomers calling each other gooners but it just seems like a generic 2000s animu in terms of fanservice so far so iunno if I'm just out of touch or what
I hated him mostly due to the voice actor, the goddamn stuttering was getting a lot on my nerves. That and he was a disgusting gremlin (no offense if that was you as a teenager, I had my own "quirks"). Sadly, it never really enticed me that much. Steings;Gate I devoured, every other SciAdv I've had to force myself to go through and was left with a "meh" a the end. It's why I consider the Steins people a one hit wonder and I'm not surprised at all they are remaking it. Also, gives me another excuse to shit on Robotics;Notes, what an ugly piece of shit Christ.
Ive finished the Arcuied route of the Tsuckihime remake. Absoulte kino, got me tearing up. Sucks she couldn't stay. Fuck Roa. Too good man. Now im onto Ciel.
Only played original Tsukihime, but Ciel is best girl and I will die on that hill.

What I don't know if this is just localizer faggotry. Read something about the "non binary" being more of an alien thing than any sort of current year faggotry. You know the Japanese have fascinations with fucking around with gender that don't correlate to western sensibilities. Others in the thread have talked about it before, so I imagine it won't be a buzzkill or start giving me a goddamn LGBTQP sermon, but I rather ask before the steam return period passes.

I also find it very annoying that auto advance doesn't seem to be an option, I like putting VN in the background while I'm doing some other activity and auto play is very useful for that.

Not yet, very much in the queue. I'm trying to finish Lost Odyssey before I get into another big demanding game. Lost Odyssey is fantastic when it comes to presentation and atmosphere, but the gameplay is honestly tedious. Animation skips should be an obligatory option at this rate in any turn based game unless I can have any input during opponent turns.

I'm rewaching the old anime. Surprisingly it follows the old story beats fairly closely. Need to play through Ciel though. Burnt myself out by going full hog on Arcued and blowing through the majority in like 2 days lol.

Honestly I'd rather have non-binary than "Style" or whatever tranny term the devs choose. And I don't remember it becoming a sermon. Raqio is usual lots of flair character, and Setsu is designated love interest that in the olde days just have opposite gender.

Pretty certain there was never any Tsukihime anime.

Ha ha. There was in 2003 assuming you aren't being sarcastic. I don't get the hate. The animation is mid but it works.
It's an ongoing meme. Doesn't help that 2000's anime quality feels insane compared to what we have today. It was released with Bobobo, Cromaterie High School, FMA, Gunslinger Girl, Planetes and Read or Die TV.

I agree next to those it looks bad. Still it actually tells the story decently well. I feel it gets a bad rap for being essentially mediocre.

12 episode anime for a god tier VN is pretty insulting. Plus JC Staff was infamous at that time for low quality animation. At the very least a passable VN adaption should have one season every 10 hours.

It should be remade, fully agree. When Ufotable finally gets around to WOHN, I imagine Tsukihime is next. But for what it's worth, it got me interested in that side of the nasuverse way back, so I have a soft spot for it.

I took a look at the info for the anime, and considering that its another very effeminate character with no confirmed gender, plus Raqio and Setsu are the same, I'm pretty sure that is just how things were originally written. It is quite funny that all the nonbinary characters are probably female. I believe in Sha-Ming's introduction, he calls Setsu "babe" and she apparently needed you around so she wouldn't kill him in rage. Funnily enough, checking the wiki shows that your gender gives you romantic scenes with 2 specific characters of the opposite gender (unless you choose non-binary) so that might be it, no gay endings (at least with the player themselves). Otherwise player gender just makes certain characters like you more.

OK, so from both your posts I'm deducing that Setsu is just schrodingers waifubando, where she's always the opposite of the player. Raqio I shall still bully every chance I get. Aside from that, it's just the nips doing weird shit with aesthetics as per usual, got it. Will continue then

Interesting thread, I've currently put reading Katawa Shoujo through on hold due to studying but I was really enjoying it and have completed both Emi and Lilly character arcs, so far. Very touching stories that hit you right in the feels.
I also remember playing/reading VA-11 Hall-A and dropping it after the boss visited my house because I got really fed up with all the constant lesbo fetishism and sex shit the game kept shoving in my face. Literally every female character in that game is either a lesbian or unrealistically horny or both. Whoever wrote the dialogues and characters is a degenerate coomer who never interacts with women IRL because holy shit, they literally do not talk nor act like that. At least both the artstyle and the OST were pretty immersive.

Hopefully once you pick it up again you read the Hanako and Rin routes. Both are excellent

I'm planning to 100% it because it's just that good. I also heard there is apparently a Kenji route that you get if you fail to befriend anyone and numerous bad endings for each character but I never got them because I'm just that awesome and popular. 8)
