I want an AquaPlus crossover wrestling spinoff by the end of the year.
I too would like to be suplexed by Tamaki.

Yeah, in Hollow, he gives off a lot of Zhuang Zhou vibes.

I'm not touching the remake until I get my Yumizuka route. I was so mad it never was in the original. The foundation for it was literally there, and it never fucking happened. I will wait as long as I need. 10, 20 years - I don't care. Besides Lancealot, she's one of the most tragic characters in the Nasu-verse.
But we need the route-let joke I guess. Really surprised, could've sworn it was one of those promised things with the remake a while back but I'm probably gaslighting myself, or mixing it up with Ilya.

Be careful what you wish for, as AEW Fight Forever turned out to be a dud, where the only good part was the Wresting gameplay itself, while everything else was half-baked.

I read Atarxia back in the day, and Lancer made me laugh my ass off so hard. He's the best dude in that VN.
He's the best character in the whole thing, period. I loved the whole segment when he just tells you the whole story of Cu Chulainn from his perspective, so much horrible shit is happening yet he always has that sort of "well, it is what it is" attitude through all of it, not cursing his destiny, his pacts and the betrayals that came or his existence. He really is the highlight of the whole thing. And yes, he is hilarious and has great chemistry with Taiga.

For anybody interested in Hollow Atharaxia, there is a "main plot" of sorts, but honestly, it's decent at best and just an excuse to end up in this sort of meta space where all the characters can coexist and chill. I love this sort of crap and really enjoyed for that reason the Today's Menu for the Emiya Family anime. If you really liked the characters and just want to see more of them, definitely give it a go. If you are in it for the grail lore... meh, salright

Isn't Ataraxia the proper introduction point of Angra Mainyu and thus kind of one of the more important entries for the overall Fate side of the Nasuverse?

Ataraxia characterizes him beyond what he was in Heaven's feel (essentially just a different flavor of Satan). Which is nice. But the real draw of Ataraxia is that you get to listen to Rider's voice a little more, and who doesn't want that?

I'm not too deep into nasuverse, but knowing that particular character arc didn't suddenly make me look at Fat Stay Night in a new way. I just filed it as "neat, can I see another cooking class with Caster or Lancer flirting in his job?".

True that is very nice, Rider is very nice to listen to.

Hollow Ataraxia Remastered has dropped BTW and i am pleased to say, no glitches, achievements work, and despite redrawing a bunch of shit to 16x9 format, it only came in at 7.5gb. Literally reverse of the meme:

Its fucking good son. Don't know if they changed shit, i'm not that deep obviously, but it is to be noted that Nintendo rates it T for Teen. The seggs scenes are likely gone lmao.

I might actually buy and read the remasters instead of the Ultimate editions because apparently the new translations are great and an upgrade from the mirror moon/FBates ones. I also want to support when Type Moon does GOOD releases as opposed to when they decide to do more gachashit.

I'd recommend it. It plays well. I like the interactive map that you can tell was updated, but also still fits with the style. It feels premium. And I'm sure they'll have fan patches in a few months if you want that old school experience. It's worth it imo

I don't know dude, 7.5gb for a visual novel is pretty ridiculous. Pretty sure the cgs are from a PS2 game, it shouldn't even be 1gb.
I dunno what PS2 games you were playing, but it was common for PS2 games to be upwards of 8 GB thanks to dual-layer DVDs.

Looking online, just the standard def CGs for the original Ataraxia were ~800 MB compressed as a RAR file. RAR compression is about 30% for just image data, so the real size is probably around 1 GB. Storage requirements going from standard def to 1080p are about 6.75x, so bumping that up to HD resolution would be roughly 6.5 GB. Add in higher-bitrate audio and some newly upscaled video and 7.5 GB is quite reasonable.

As for why the original CGs are so large - my understanding is that most JP VN engines don't really do lossy compression for images due to the artifacting produced on sharp lines which is considered undesirable.

Anyway, tech spergery aside - I wish Nasu would stop being a cuck and release Tsukihime remake on PC. Playing it on my Switch feels so lame.

I will say, it looks fucking gorgeous. My monitor isn't that great, but it's still 1080p, 60hz, and was a high end office monitor when it was built in 2010. I can still tell they enhanced the hell out of it, beyond just making it widescreen. The colors are rich, sound is good, and there's other little things they tweaked to bring it up to date with modern Type Moon VNs, made it much smoother. All of this, and they only jumped from 5.6 gb to 7.5 gb.

Bro I know. Best rationalization I've heard is that he wants the experience to feel like a movie when it's hooked in to your TV. Tbf, it does. No excuse not to have a PC port.

Well that doesn't work because I just hook my switch up to my OLED monitor and play it at my battlestation anyway.

A lot of older JPs still seem to think you can't easily connect consoles to computer monitors and PCs to televisions.
