Vita

I somehow missed that there were DS ports of the first two games, I'll have to see if I can find the ROMs and put them on my DSTwo.

Well the DS games are the 2nd and 3rd games(The latter heavily modified to resemble the other games in the series mechanics-wise). The first one was remade for the Wonderswan Color(and later ported said remake to cellphones, oddly with less features than the WSC version), but that was fan translated, as were both DS remakes.

Anyways the Vita is a pretty good system for JRPGs, the problem is that because of its poor sales outside of japan many good games are not being translated, I wouldn't be surprised if SaGa 2015 is one of those games because of the bad sales the PS2 games got overseas. I wonder if it will be the same for the upcoming Seiken Densetsu/Mana game for the same system I heard about. Unlike SaGa the US has only really missed out on a single major title (Seiken Densetsu 3 for the SNES/SFC), so hopefully we can get it stateside. Even in neither title is brought over there are many hidden gems for the Vita of various genres.

Man Sony, they really screwed up with this system. I really love this thing. Despite it lacking big games/spin-offs of mainstream franchises, I still disagree that the overall library in general is terrible.

For anyone who's interested, these are titles I personally recommend or heard great feedback from other Vita fans:
FPS:
Killzone Mercenary

Twin stick shooter or shmup:
Super Stardust Delta
Resogun
Helldivers
Velocity Ultra
Velocity 2X

Platformer:
LBP Vita
Tearaway
Sly 4
Rayman Origins
Rayman Legends
Guacamelee

Fighting:
Mortal Kombat
Dead or Alive 5
Capcom vs Marvel 3
Street Fighter X Tekken

RPG:

YS: Memories of Celceta
Persona 4 Golden
Soul Sacrifice Delta
Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention
Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisted

Racing:
Wipeout 2048
Need for Speed Most Wanted
Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed

Visual novel:
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc
Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair

Adventure/action:
Dragons Crown
Muramasa Rebirth
Gravity Rush
Hotline Miami
Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus

Along with being able to play PS1/PSP/Ps2 titles, stream PS4 games, and watch Netflix/YouTube on an beautiful OLED screen, the Vita is pretty much the dream handheld for me. It's just too bad Sony didn't bring the system to it fullest potential. And why the memory cards are still expensive going in 3 years since launch is beyond me.

I'm into helldivers atm- anyone else?
I've been playing the PS4 version. Really fun game. I've spent over 30 hours on it so far.

Dun gave me a Vita and some games for Christmas/Birthday/Anniversary. I must say when I am impressed with how clear and crisp everything look on screen. The games I have are Persona, Muramasa, and Dragon's Crown. I love Dragon's Crown, I main as Amazon.

I almost forgot one thing. I don't know if you're into visual novels, but I heard Hatoful Boyfriend is really good. I believe it comes to the Vita during the summer time.

If you don't have the 3DS version already, I highly recommend Virtue's Last Reward. Playthrough of its prequel, "Nine Doors, Nine Persons, Nine Hours" (only on the DS) is highly recommended though.

Y-you did actually research the plot of that game, right?

or are you being ironic

Oh god, it's that bird dating sim. I knew the name sounded familiar.

@BirdSim have you played this?

Are you including PSP titles as well? I'll throw in Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre if you like strategy RPGs.
