From the Sunday stream just before it, he expressed his first-hand displeasure with the political machine (i.e., the media playing fuckaround games with his interview, primarily), but jesus that's a drubbing. I doubt their election is going to do much for his, or most people's, perception of the system, from what little I can tell of how much of a wasted effort it was for everyone involved.

On the other hand, I guess he finally has an out to fuck off out of Leafland while he has the opprotunity. He did what he could.

I don't think it's a grift. In the lead up he was constantly bringing up the history of electorate and how it was heavy liberal and his chances of winning being slim.

I think what happened is a combination of his self-admitted naivety and him getting invested in the effort he was putting in along with the feedback he was getting planted the idea in his head that he might actually have a chance.

Overall he's more upset about the PPC not winning any seats in general than he is about losing his race, that's the main thing that's gotten him worked up and that being combined with the fact that he does seem exhausted by the effort he put in is making him make this.

I think Viva's a genuine guy who's far from a grifter, he just lost sight of what his chances actually were in the heat of the moment.

I hope Viva moves to Amedigo and fucks of from Leafland. At least here he can have a gun and shoot his smarmy opponents at 1000 yards.

Some random observations:
  • Barnes hates Gab because of trolls and seems to hate Torba personally.
  • Rumble raised $400 million and are going to use that to bring "gamers" to the platform. So an edgier Twitch?
  • CEO dude keeps saying he wants to be a "common carrier" yet wants to ban hate speech. He also wants to branch into cloud services so maybe Null's hosting problems will be solved for good.
  • Viva has all the Viva & Barnes company and bank accounts in his name exclusively.
Didn't watch the rest but did they mention even once that both Viva and Barnes were shareholders in Locals that merged with Rumble? Viva said the CEO is going to get a big payday when Rumble finally goes public.. so Viva and Barnes will get some of that too.

Barnes hates Gab/Torba because of anti-Semitism by Torba and the users of Gab, and given the CEO's comments, I'm not sure Joshua "Jew Finger Necklace" Moon would be welcome on their hosting service. All this Rumble shit is just trading one set of tech overlords for another.

Viva mentions the criticism of Barnes being paid by Rumble and Barnes doesn't address it at all. He was very quick to deflect and move on to shitting on Torba/Odysee.:thinking:

At the start of this week's sidebar, they bring up the Jack Murphy/John (((Goldman))) fiasco:

Viva seemed confused as to why mentioning hypocrisy is so relevant when they're bringing a 'positive message today' and that public execution/evisceration is not good in the long run. He said that it might be relevant for someone high profile like Trudeau. Masterful backhanded compliment.

Barnes then says he represented Murphy "when he was targeted by antifa groups...to run him out of his job", but never entered into any litigation with him at the time, only giving him advice and so wouldn't go further into detail. I'd be very interested as to why they didn't pursue anything against his former employers. He agrees with Viva's view - "I don't see the great, grand significance of what Jack Murphy wrote six years ago or what his personal life is, has any great bearing on the public agenda of today" and generally dismisses it as drama.

On an entirely, completely unrelated note, can anyone remember what Viva's reaction to the Barnes vs Fuentes debate was?

The general excuse seems to be that they "lawyers" are not "drama people". Which I kind of understand. But lawyers.

It is probably a bad look to dunk on guests, too. That would be off-brand and might fuck up getting future guests. Unless the guest ends up murdering someone or whatever. Which may yet happen with our friend Jack "Little Dick Nickles" Murphy.
