Day two of VLOGtember.

Jace is still, in his own words, "emo" for what happened on the LiveStream #19 last night.
Apparently, it was Rob the one who came up with the idea of long-plays.

Also, something interesting is that Jace is well aware that he starts hallucinating when he's off his meds with his "Jack Stryker" persona, something that he doesn't wants, he also said that he hates it when he's ON his meds and he just has to face the reality in which he lives.

Things of note:

  • Jace calls Rob when he needs moral support and guidance
  • Jace is trying to not do weed / shrooms because that's what Jesus would want and Rob has recommended.
  • Rob doesn't want him doing Vlog-tember, but...
    • ...he is a fan of Jace continuing to produce for Youtube in the form of long-plays. The unspoken theory Rob presented being that Jace playing games can't dox / hurt himself, could make some money a la DarkSydePhil, and wouldn't have the immediate hostile viewer interactions to trigger his behavior like during streams.
  • Jace almost admits he is not a marine twice and his whole persona is fabricated, before becoming overly emotional and dropping the topic entirely.
 
That's the most lucid I've ever seen him. If he can stay on his meds and drop the Stryker persona, a lot of his problems will go away. He can't come out and say it, but he seems to finally get that the Marine shit is making his life worse. If he can keep up with Rob and throw himself into game stuff, he has some potential to eventually progress to just an unemployed gamerbro.

For Jace, that's about as big a victory as we can hope for.
 
IIRC there was one stream where he was breaking down, came right to the verge of this level of seeing reality and instead psyched himself up by doubling down on the fantasy.
 
I don't usually watch Jace's streams because of the time he streams, and I haven't watched the any of the recorded ones, just the highlights. But when I watched the ending of the last stream... that was really fucked up. I mean, I understand that people trolled him before, and he freaked out like crazy, but this is alot different than covering himself in aluminium and smoking a joint while telling himself he ain't gay, this is a whole other level. I don't know if it's just me, but i do believe that this went alot too far now. He seemed so sincere and honest in this video, it made him seem like a realy nice guy, somewhat at least. I was fine with making fun of him, and trolling him to make him freak out once or twice, but fueling his hallucinations and fantasies and then turning it on him to the point of him breaking down like that, that is a bit far, and not funny at all. He's supposed to be a lolcow, someone we get laughs out of, not someone we want to drive into suicide.

Jace is under stressful situations because people tell him his fantasy world isn't real, and his brother's encouraging him to try and make something of his life.
Hard times, man. Hard times.
 
It looks like he has some clarity of thought and the meds are working. Maybe if he stays on his meds and heeds Rob's advice he can be, as Hellblazer said, an unemployed gamerbro on disability. Heck, he might even spend his disability wisely if Rob gives him some guidance.

Then again . . .

I don't mean to be a downer, but Jace's moods are cyclical. He often crashes and realizes he's not happy with his fantasy life, but then he goes back to screaming for people to respect him as a future wounded retired Marine gamer of the battlefield.

That's one thing I don't get about some of Jace's "friends." They claim they're helping him by encouraging his delusions when doing so is actually harmful to Jace. If they really were Jace's friends they wouldn't tolerate his idiot fantasies. Weird.

Jace's 'friends' are idiots and stoners who only hang out with him because there's no one else that wants them around.
 
Things that I took note of:

  • Last night he was going on about "nuke tumblr!!!" and yet he's still plugging his own tumblr blog
I kind of feel bad for him, all that about how he has to pretend to be someone he's not in order to be happy. I mean I'm sure soon he'll do something that will make me regret ever feeling bad for him, but whatever.

^ This, plus I get the impression that they hang around him when he has money/weed. Kyle sells him his weed. Eli went to Israel because Jace promised him an Xbone if he played the secret agent. Without the cash-or-weed flow, they'd book it and go mooch off someone else. Tyce needed somewhere to crash for a bit and still trashed the place/puked in Dew Jace drank/etc.

"With friends like that," and so on.
 
I wanna feel bad. I really do. Yesterday I was enjoying the whole "wake up" Jace thing because it did seem like it was freaking him out but it went on too long. But I almost positive he'll revert back to his old ways. Besides Rob, he doesnt have that support base he needs.
 
There is a chance Jace could graduate from his past behavior with Rob's help as long as some steps are taken:
  1. Stop hanging out with his current crop of friends
  2. Stop with the military fetishism / fake military ranks
  3. Stop using drugs until his head is in a better place
  4. Actually take his psychiatrist seriously and if he's not already seeing a talk therapist, start
  5. Disable all comments on youtube / refrain from engaging people on twitter
  6. Continue to make videos but only related to video games and no more live streams.
That's a road-map to turn Jace from... Jace, to your average, forgettable, awful dudebro youtuber. I don't think he'd be happy though, because the interactions are what fuel him. He's hit the point where he needs immediate, constant validating in a way that Pressing 1 fakes. Introspection is really hard, there's a reason a lot of people never get better, because admitting fault, admitting personal failures, asking for help and then having the stomach to follow through with it, that's a awfully hard thing to recognize and do.
 
I'm glad to see that Jace knows that some of the stuff he says, does and believes are really weird and does not help him at all. Hopefully he will stay that way, but he does have his way of going back to Future Retired Wounded Veteran U.S Marine Rape Survivor Wolf Appreciator mode.

I agree. If Chris was any example, consistently fucking with someone who is clearly mentally unstable and can barely control themselves never ends well. Jace can be really funny when he freaks out, and it can be hilarious to see his misconceptions and fantasies, but we have to learn from our mistakes and put limits on how far we go. In fact, I think last night's livestream really was like the point where reality finally hit, just like when Bob died. I hope Jace gets the help he needs, but I also hope he still produces unintentionally funny content like he used to. Though if he does get help, he's probably going to have to come to terms with how terrible his lifestyle has been, which in that case, I have no idea how he's going to still produce funny content, considering his racist fantasies were basically what made Jace so funny to begin with.
