From the sounds of it, I think the cast actually got close during production and most of them overlapped in other projects, on top of the Californian VA clique being close-knit. You can still love someone even if they're spewing insane shit.

In other news, one of my problems with people who gush and sperg about Japanese Voice Actors (retards who say Seiyuu are nuclear waste level red flags) is that they like to say “English voice actors all sound the same and like they don’t even try”

That’s true about some of them most definitely.
But it 100% applies to Jap actors as well.
Look at some of the most beloved ones like Masako Nozawa. She uses the same voice for Goku, Gohan and Goten and only slightly changed it for Goku Black.
I love Masako Nozawa, she’s this sweet little grandma from what I’ve seen about her.

Kenjiro Tsuda is another one. I like the guy a lot but he literally uses the exact same voice for every single character he plays which I’m pretty sure is just his regular voice.

Compare that to Dan Green with Yugi and Atem. The average person wouldn’t know it’s the same dude unless they listened pretty hard. Once you know you can hear it but until then not so much.
Eric Stuart as James vs Brock is an even better example. Those voices are nothing alike.

I always thought Wayne Grayson was pretty versatile too, I only recently learned he voiced Michaelangelo, Joey Wheeler and the villain from the second Pokemon movie, among others.

Ted Lewis is also surprisingly versatile, you just usually hear the same two voices. Honestly, him being both King DeDeDe and Escargoon proved he deserved so much better roles to just show off his impersonations, he only ever did his Paul Lynde impression twice, and the only other time was for the obscure Gran Doll OVA.
