A little side story from the ongoing Glass thread, Glass had a stream on Friday March 14th, which UrghBla joined call with him to argue with him, as per usual. What is interesting is that a random Glass viewer asked to join the call to get mad at UrghBla for not taking his predator claims seriously from an earlier discussion in UrghBla's Discord.

For context, UrghBla is a regular character in the Glass story, being someone who presents themselves as a VRC "To Catch a Predator" content creator, before focusing on Glass A-logging.

Glass used this as a situation to shit on UrghBla for not actually doing real work to protect children (while Glass himself has twice sent pictures of his balloon shaped penis to underage girls). The conversation takes a turn when chatters uncover that this caller (MicKux) has himself been exposed for being a VRC Predator himself. MicKux eventually stops talking, leaves call, and leaves their Discords.

How does this even happen? How do you get two retards fighting each other in one stream, one of them being a pedo themselves, and then ANOTHER retard comes in out of nowhere to join in on the conversation, just for them to be revealed as a pedophile too?

I don't know if it's a combination of guilt, projection, and/or hiding degeneracy ("how can I be a predator if I catch them?"). But the culture of VRC seems to breed this degenerate behavior which attracts predators at a relatively high rate.

I suspect part of it is also the fact that these "content creators" have audiences mostly made up of children, and their active discord communities they spend all day on are also full of children. I would think given the subject matter of the videos Urgblah or similar would have their discord not allow minors at all.

Derafog blames Youtube's constant push of negative videos for VRChat's bad reputation, and pointing out how when looking up the name of the game in the search bar results in videos about exposing sexual predators or hostile trolling videos (typically ones where the troll sexually harasses random female players regardless of knowing their age, not that it's acceptable sex pest behavior either way). More mainstream exposure to VRC degeneracy seems like it would do some good to help shed more light on the blatant predator problem. I think that VRC has slipped under the radar, as I can't easily find news articles about VRC predators, like I can for Roblox. I suspect recent lawsuits have led to updates like so to restrict accesses for children in Roblox: Major Updates to Our Safety Systems and Parental Controls

Limiting options for private conversations I think it especially crucial, as predators love moving things outside of public view to perform their manipulations and grooming. Predators like Glass would quickly move VRC women/girls into his Discord community, to then act lovebomby through Discord DMs until he eventually pressures them into moving the conversation sexually (including sending his own nudes first to pressure reciprocity). This approach only works when they can have direct private conversations, as publicly, this would be mocked for being obviously manipulative but these predators would be too ashamed to even attempt anything publicly anyways.

As Ruben Sim has said, predators are everywhere it's how you deal with them that matters. If your platform doesn't proactively seek out and ban pedophiles, sex pests and other freaks, then it deserves to have a reputation of being the virtual child molester paradise.

I think this is also a key point too. If predators can easily get away with their degenerate behavior, it encourages other predators to flock to the platform as a result of the low risk involved. Putting in barriers, while not a perfect solution to 100% protect every possible interaction a child would have, do provide enough friction to reduce the platform's value for predators. Predators should not feel welcome in such spaces. Placating such people just sends the wrong message.

It probably wouldn't matter much anyway, as I don't believe VRChat has anything that incentivizes not using alternative accounts like inventories or something like Roblox would have. You watch any of the videos about VRChat predators and they all have more accounts than fingers.
