Wallace & Gromit Thread - No crack Gromit! We've forgotten the crack!

In your opinion, what's the best Wallace and Gromit short/film?

The new film is pretty solid and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Much better than the painfully mediocre Chicken Run sequel that Aardman released last year. My only real complaints are that it could've been trimmed down a bit, with less emphasis on the police woman.

Also, Peter Sallis will be sorely missed; while Ben Whitehead does a decent job it's clear the voices are not quite the same and it feels off. Perhaps it'll grow on me, but I miss the guy.

My favorite Wallace and Gromit moment was when "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature during the 2006 Oscars, beating "Howl's Moving Castle" by Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. This proves that claymation is indeed, superior to anime.

They sent a message board to the wider studio, so I doubt there's bad blood between them, maybe a little from the head man himself, but some humility would serve him well to quell that ego.

They just sound like an idiot, a really boring grating voice. Wish they weren't in the film.

But it's still pretty bad without her, having a villain return (even if it's the best villain in all of the films) is such a waste, why couldn't they make another iconic mute villain, they pulled it off with Preston. The film's plot is pretty stupid, this should've been a short film or had an entirely different plot. The smart gnomes are stupid ideas. They Flanderize the penguin in to being obsessed with the diamond, you don't get that impression from the original film he only stole it because it was valuable. Poor writing and jokes throughout. Nick Park is getting too old I don't know what to say. It is well animated and looks good. The CGI effects are a bit disappointing to see though tbh.

In order of best to worst imo:
1. The Wrong Trousers (Perfect, later films try to recreate this to some success but never truly surpass it)
2. The Curse of the Ware-Rabbit (All around great and even better at many points, proves a feature W&G film can be great, not that there was much doubt. Still kind of wish there was only 3-4 characters shown in the whole film like in the previous ones. I haven't seen all of Aardman's feature films but after this one they all seem pretty mediocre)
3. A Close Shave (Trys to recreate the success of The Wrong Trousers with some success whilst having it's own merits. Copies the mute psychopathic villain Wrong Trousers well. But the chase scene is no where near as good, having W&G do a different gig every film is fun. Preston is scary af and it's great.)
4. A Grand Day Out (A fun short film, the basic animation is charming, the escape from the moon from the oven is actually really tense lol. The whole film is a single concept executed well. Doesn't out stay it's welcome)
5. A Matter of Loaf and Death (Disappointing after Ware-Rabbit, okay I guess)
6. Vengeance Most Fowl (Doesn't really try anything new, what it does do is just sub-par or even straight bad)
