Possible RCE exploit that's currently being investigated by Gaijin. The person responsible has uploaded various videos of cheating before (near 100% accuracy with manually guided missiles on moving planes) and now has been kicking people out of their accounts it seems like. Unfortunately, I can't access the videos due to Gaijin copyright claiming them but there was this screenshot from the War Thunder subreddit.

Is this like the least low effort april fools gaijin have ever done?

I love post apocalyptic/dystopian sci-fi and Mad Max, but this is just some quick remodels, has a gay crafting element and doesn't seem to be showcasing or testing some future mechanic.

But the mobile version gets flying ponies.

The Ponies were actually the first War Thunder April Fools event, pretty lazy to just do it again but lock it to mobile.

The Mad Max event is fun and I think the event might be testing new gamemodes? I hope we finally see some new modes instead of Capture the Point and the very rare team deathmatch mode.

Yeah I would like some new game modes, like some co-op/team based objectives, capturaing/defending points. Or something like the Battle of Britain that was in BF42. A horde of German planes flying over the channel to bomb repairable bases/airfields vs Spitfires and Lancasters in return and other specific historical scenarios in a co/op - objective mode.

I guess what this thing with collecting resources could be testing maybe some game mode with support classes to reload, but I just think it's laziness, they are copying the rust survival thing without the base building or in game crafting shit. Seems a bit too much effort with the tech tree that could be put into the real game tech tree grinding.

Isn't team deathmatch pretty much squadron battles?
That's kind of autistic to get into and would be hard to implement with the matchmaker and casuals/randoms outside of an EC/Sim kinda thing where certain vehicles were locked if in use.

Anyway I will give the AF mode a bit more of a go.

I think it is super gay that Gaijin locked all jet fighters behind a very long progression. I just want to fly a jet fighter. I don't give a shit what specific plane it is and autists would have always paid for that. But helicopters and jet fighters are locked off, kept at such a distance I will never get them.

Lmao. One of their CM (Powerword: Janny) left and their lead CM had an argument that devolved into slav slapfight. Turns out, the head Jan jan is used to work in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. VK posters claims he was a politican while he claim he was just a "civil servant". He's been at since 2019 before being pushed out recently (and I don't think anyone who plays WT ever heard of him).

Key points include:
  • Janny was mentally ill supposedly and couldn't sweep it up.
  • Head Janny got pushed out after Russian VK dogpiled him
  • Jannies aren't your friends irl ever.
  • Head CM (Powerword: Alexander Tolkach) was the one who told players to fuck off before the steam review bomb

He's now been given the boot (Archive wont load properly) for glowing harder than Chernobyl.

So, the lead of the Community Managers got in a shit flinging fight with one of the (older and most liked) community moderators.

It went back and forth on Reddit if I recall correctly the CM claiming that the fired old moderator was mentally ill and the old moderator calling the lead CM a manipulative bastard who turned people against him or something alike to that.

This was a few weeks ago already unless this is another incident?

I find your post rather unclear, so they both got fired now you mean?

Perhaps reformulate the explanation a bit because I find it hard to read, others might feel the same.

I think it should be possible to find an archive of the shitflinging on Reddit archive as this was a post with thousands of updoots once it kicked off between those two, for whoever feels like searching it.

Several of the reddit posts have been swept and deleted, hence why I posted the videos. Reddit also refuses archive services right now. I'm still trying to piece this together as well, it's a complete cluster because half of this is reddit related, while the other half is VK related and I don't read slav runes.

There's at least three (four?) people involved:
1) Keofox, a well-liked CM
2) An un-named CM who "leaked" the fight in the CM internal chats
3) An (anonymous) CM who made claims against Alexander for being a shithead
4) Alexander Tolkach, head of Community relations.

1) The first CM got fired ("Left of his own accord") sometime back close to a month ago.
2)The Russian Warthunder community was really not happy about it and appears (?) to have long running complaints with the lead CM for shitstirring.
3) Meanwhile there is some sort of shitflinging between the two CMs on an internal WT chat that spills into Russian WT. Claims are made Alexander pushed out any CM that wasn't 100% bootlicking him and was just a jackass in general.
4) Russian WT community on VK figures out who the lead CM was, claims he was responsible for the economy issue that lead to steam review bombs. Points out that he previously worked at the Russian ministry of foreign affairs as a politician are made alongside his partial but significant ownership of a few state owned companies.
5) Keofox versus Lead CM spills into reddit with Keo making a post about Alexander used his mental health as a weapon against him (by saying he went to see a psychiatrist which Alexander paid for).
6) Keofox (on reddit) and lead CM (On VK?) put out statements stating the following:
  • Keofox was not "fired" but left after "lengthy discussion"
  • Both Keo and Alexander catagorically deny the allegation that Alexander made remarks that Keo was pro-Ukraine in the Russia conflict (which carries a 15 year sentence)
  • Keo admits mental health issues and that Alexander paid for his psychiatry sessions
  • Keo removes a post with "agreement to both sides" here
  • Alexander issues a "suspiciously worded denial", stating that he was just a civil servant"and not a politician, said job was early in his youth and he stayed in PR roles at state companies because it paid well.
  • Keofox deletes his previous complaint post wishing everyone well and not wishing to hurt anyone "Guys, I hug you all and remove this post. Be friendly.".
7) Russian VK is not happy with Alexander still and out for blood due to it being alleged he suppressed the complaints about economy changes (I can't find the VK sources in the video)
8 ) Alexander makes this post in the VK (See photo), he also allegedly makes a post (unverified is reddit sourced) that mocks the subreddit for being shit.
9) Alexander is "reassigned" from head janjan to the leader of CIS publishing and media relations (Unverified)
10) Continued reddit unrest
11) Alexander is let go by Gaijin, forms a group making a media piece called Squad 22 supposedly supporting the SMO (Reddit source only, haven't located the VK source). It has been suggested this project is funded by Gajin.

The best advice for War Thunder is to not play it. But if you do play it don't play top tier. Top tier is gay. It's sad to see so many people be hyped to get their Abrams or F-16 or whatever when the gameplay at that BR is the most mind-numbing shit...On second thought, maybe that is why they want to play it.

Airfield campers deserve to be hunted for sport, most of them are chinks or brazilians so no surprise there.

I agree with this statement, this game is a literal digital crack that is meant to hook you up on a dopamine rush, so that you would want to get back to it, again and again, just to get your fix. And with how the points multiplier for the events (which isc arguably the only way to get rare vehicles, which, in many cases, compliment a line-up or are just straight-up busted) have been changed, it forces you to play realistic high-tier's, lest you would have to play even more to balance the difference. Maybe if you are young, playing this game for 5 hours a day, for two weeks straight isn't a problem, but i would bet even the most hardcore militaryboos would be fed up with shitty teams, worse RNG and sneaky cheaters, after the first coupla days. It's just isn't worth it, and i say this as a veteran, who started playing in 2014, went through 5 tech trees to 6 tier (on both tanks and planes), and played most winter and summer events till 2023.

Edit: spelling

Top tier Air RB is in such a bad state because the devs refuse to implement 8v8 or 12v12 matches. The most they did was make a toggleable option to have a chance of getting a 12v12 match.

Fuck AF campers too.

I'm not even old and I'm tired of it already. I used to play Air RB with friends a lot in 2016-2018, but many of them moved on and honestly, I don't blame them. I don't enjoy it anymore outside of the bare monkey brain activation of "Aircraft/Target destroyed" and mostly just do my dailies in tanks because it is faster paced and lower pressure. I don't even bother with events either. I'm good enough to grind the points in ~4 hours or so but really, a more efficient way would be to take a couple hours of overtime and buy the vehicle later. It'd be less stressful too because everyone tryhards during events.

For me you can't make either top tier good. It is filled with mechanics that are either unfair or I simply don't enjoy using. An example of the former is guided bombs or drones for tanks, and an example of the latter is guided missiles for Air RB. The highest I go is 9.3 in my Ariete and that is mostly because hey, best subsonic, great when you want low effort...until you come across an F-104 because of course that thing has to face subsonics. I think the highest tank I've played regularly was the Object 292 and that was only because big HE is always funny.
Fuck AF campers too.
They really need to fix that safe space shit. It allows some of the most toxic ways of playing. For example, there is this guy who only plays the B7A2, climbs to space, camps there all match only going for the easiest of kills and if he can't or gets in trouble goes to the airfield to camp. All while talking shit about his KD.

"Top tier is gay" is only true if you pick the wrong vehicles to play
playing the AV-8B+ and swatting premium F-4S droolers out of the air with the fist of god (the AIM-120 AMRAAM) is some of the most fun you can have in a video game
