Warframe Community Staff - Social Justice Tumblr Tards Against Their Own Community

People actually use Region Chat? Is Trade Chat not punishment enough?
Some cheeky fuck said:
Hey that Ember Prime you are selling for 100pl, I'm gonna invite you to my Trade Hall but then offer you 60pl :)

But yeah most people I know avoid region chat in case some troon takes offense at weeb jokes. Good game otherwise.

This is why I keep telling my friends to not use game chats in any form and just get on TeamSpeak or private Discords. It's not like it used back in the 2000s to be where you could talk mad shit and nobody cared.
Imagine what the old Barrens chat in WoW would be like today.

With the AllTheFoxes drama, people found out that he was a former Reddit powermod (an old archive of him shows he was a mod of a bunch of subreddits) who had gotten demodded from /r/gaming after his role in the Remove Horror saga when he deleted posts to cover for Horror. Discord literally hired a Reddit moderator to moderate their service and Reddit moderators are even more hated than 4chan's janitors. Chances are they hired him based on his experience and not his reputation.

There's probably a bit of diversity hiring here or there in the industry as well.

As for how it encompasses things after GamerGate, it's because not a lot has changed to be honest after GamerGate. It sped up the death of "genres" like walking simulators and a very specific "indie clique" but itch.io is still full of hipster crap. I also remember that the only lasting thing that happened to game journalism was that journalists started writing about how "I'm friends with the developer of this game I'm promoting" at the very end of articles and I haven't seen those messages in a while in gaming journalism (I've still seen them elsewhere at times, like in financial website articles) so I'm not sure if that's changed.

One friend I know who had pals in the industry told me that the Western gaming industry is swamped with far left political views and he's not wrong. Look how hard Anita was being shilled to the point where she was giving speeches at game developers left and right and the latter was before GamerGate. Look at Randy Pitchford's bigot song or Tim Schafer's sockpuppet. When you have these kinds of people at even the top of studios, you're going to find people like Dina or the Warframe mods running communities, and anyone who doesn't share those views is going to remain silent. They know what happened to Simon Chylinski, they know what happened to Tim Soret, and they know it's not worth being blacklisted and losing a job over.

GG accomplished quite a few tangible things - biggest for our community being the breaching of the hugboxes that have brought us so much mockable Autism these last five years - but the underlying problems that helped cause that particular shitstorm remain. It's why after the Autism Holy War ended, you had its fucking sequels (involving the same fucking people no less) over in Comicsgate.

Things're getting better in some ways (going woke in the industry increasingly is an economic death sentence and we're seeing these clowns bleed their influence white trying to stay relevant), but more fucking intractable in others (Sony's bullshit recently is basically ruining the PS4 as a platform, and essentially involves all games having to go through Sony of America's dangerhair-infested SOA branch, even if the games are solely being released in Japan), and it's going to be a while before this disease fully burns itself out.

Which is great news for us at least, since we'll be right here to make fun of that shit.

The funniest part about the whole thing is that Warframe is fine as it is if you just avoid user chat in the first place, which, if you're doing missions at all with friends or even just randos, you're going to be doing anyway. 99.99% of the playerbase didn't even know this shit was happening until shit hit full burn. The reason the community got its anger all up in a dander was because of the potential for abuse, not because anyone gives a single fuck about Region chat.

The interesting part is that Digital Extremes is clearly aware of the problem; there's plenty of evidence that when Telluric had her little "SORRY NOT SORRY" shtick in her profile on the official forums, basically telling everyone who took issue with her to go fuck themselves, that a bunch of DE's staff saw it right before she was forced to correct it.

One thing though: this is a case of very vocal minority. The community in general is extremely friendly because it's a PvE: there's no competition so people simply help each other - new players barely suffer, they get free stuff from veterans, etc.

When people like Telluric appears they get attention because they are not only the exception, they taint the rest. Same reason the community is not found at all of an youtuber called A Gay Guy Plays - because the guy tard rage and insult people because of a game (specially because game mechanics he disagrees with) and talk about sucking dicks on stage, representing the fucking game, he's also protected by Danielle apparently.

Funny shit is: Rob/AGGP admits having a DUI.

DE brought it onto themselves and the community is picking the pieces.

Edit: forgot some shit.

Video games are worse than ever and everything is tightly moderated to the point of ruin. GamerGate did nothing but accelerate this. All the "Literally Who?"s have $100k+ a year jobs ruining your fun. Give it up and learn how to make a point in less than 4 paragraphs.

I can agree to this somewhat. While games are in the shitter we are seeing a somewhat Triple A western gaming crash happen. Now how you view it is entirely up to you as some people blame the tech bubble and others blame the multiple government bodies involved on the whole Loot Box controversy. What is apparent though would be the rise of Japanese games that normally would never have garnered the popularity or views that we have seen today.

The Yakuza series, Monster Hunter series, Persona series and many others come to mind on this. Basically what I am saying is, from the viewpoint of a informed consumer it seems the market is slowly starting to dictate what people want which is good solid games that arent heavily micromanaged or filled with shady business practices. Japan keeps pumping out games without those things and people are now buying japan titles they never knew existed or never took the time to want to play and refusing to buy your Battlefields and CoDs. We now see stocks crashing for major western devs. EA and Activision losing billions in one year and starting a slow consolidation with there Studios and IPs. Its a shot in the dark but the market is trying to change the way things are as we speak.

Lmao, this is literally the /r/planetside drama all over again. It only needs a "write an essay saying you're sorry and why the word trap is transphobic to be unbanned" for it to be complete.

Company of Heroes
Fallout
Garry's Mod
Fallout
Runescape

Every anime community

Troons are like the neocons of gaming. Most people hate them but you can't escape their clutches because of institutional power.

I suspect its because corporations blindly hire people with Communications degrees and good ol fashioned Goon nepotism almost certainly played a role.

Why would anyone join a group they have contempt for anyways?
Because power-tripping SJW cunts like Telluric are addicted to being offended. They need a place where their pent-up frustrations will be easily released, and where better to go than a place (allegedly) full of toxic gamers who dare laugh at girlcocks ? The usual hugboxes don't provide them with enough opportunities to wage war against wrongthink, it's mostly just endless circle-jerking. So they use their connections and the current zeitgeist to worm their way into communities where they clearly don't belong and proceed to ruin everyone's fun, because it gives them the validation the crave, and they get free "muh rape" tweets as a bonus.
