People still mod their weapons for viral instead of using a hound to prime in the year of our lord 2026? But I do hate trying to fit okay Rivens on guns when they have a shit status type. Never really liked them, even if I have a few good ones. Really seems like a thing for the level-cap run people.
Dedicated planning about a primer seems more like level cap thinking to me. When building some random weapon, my first priority is that if it rolls in ExA (where I might want to use some other pet for other reasons) or Circus (where you don't get a pet at all) it can just do its job standalone. That said, the game is also easy enough that Rivens mostly only matter at the frontier of autism too, whether it's level cap or other flavours of autism like speedrunning (where the best Rivenless Profit-Taker time is still over a minute while the record is under 50 seconds).

Not to mention leaning too much on a riven can fuck a build in the long run if the devs do major adjustments to weapons/enemies.

Well they took out the Blue Kuva. Hopefully they have a come to Jesus moment by Friday so they let us lock 3 stats. Plague Star next week too, probably around Labor Day.

Alright, Devstream 197 came and went, and while I was able to catch some of it, I missed other points so I had to look up coverage from other sources:
  • Because this stream isn't hosted from Canada, the Twitch drop has been exchanged for an extra Gift of the Lotus Alert.
  • We're getting a special Operation/Event to see us off to Tau; Epoch Operation: Taubound. It will involve helping Space Grandma Praghasa (apparently she's not dead) by fueling her with Moonflesh from Eris in exchange for rewards and daily inbox messages. The event will last from October 15 to November 17.
    • Also coming on October 15 is a Tau Prologue Quest, serving as a bridge to The Old Peace and our travels to Tau and connecting narratively with the Operation. It will require full completion of both The Old Peace and The Hex Quest (i.e. getting your relationship values to Rank 3 with all six members and stopping the reactor). While we wait for this event, the devs released a promo page where you can complete some in-game stuff to get a unique Honoria.
Of course, the real meat comes from both Narin's release and the Banshee rework. I'm going to those now:
Banshee, the first sound-based warframe, and a kit that required some much-need updating as the gameplay evolved:
  • No changes to her stats, but her Passive is getting one more thing: casting her abilities will inflict a full stack of 5 Puncture procs to any enemies within 10 meters of her. Not sure if this will use a line of sound check instead...
  • The majority of her abilities, barring Sound Quake but we'll get to that, can now be cast on the move without rooting her in place.
  • Sonic Boom is now cast with one hand, and the ragdolling is being removed for a boost in damage and, more importantly, innately stripping armor on affected enemies. Sonic Boom will also break containers in its area of effect.
    • As its old effects are now built-in to the ability, the Sonic Fracture augment is being changed to Sonic Siphon: now Banshee temporarily leeches any stripped armor up to a cap of 1500. Persistence Banshees are theoretically possible, but I foresee this being a good reason to run Arcane Battery.
  • Weak points generated by Sonar will finally count as proper weak points, letting them trigger Arcanes, mods, and possibly even Incarnon charges (whether this lets her cheese the Deep Dive Sealed Armor modifier remains to be seen, this is unsurprisingly undergoing review). The weak point generation is also getting tweaked so that they will prioritize unmarked body parts instead of overlapping.
  • Silence can now be recast to reset its duration and reapply the stun. Nothing too fancy.
  • Sound Quake got the lion's share of the changes, and it short Pablo basically flipped the behaviors of both the vanilla ability and Resonating Quake:
    • Vanilla Sound Quake now creates an AoE that lasts for 25 seconds, inflicting Blast procs proportional to enemies' distance from the center of the ability. Banshee is invulnerable while casting it (and its getting a casting speed boost), and it will also break all containers in its radius.
    • Resonating Quake is now Gaseous Quake: the augment is now a channeled ability that roots Banshee in place while inflicting Gas damage and procs. Insert fart joke here.
And of course, the star of the Devstream herself; Narin. Our 66th warframe and the first one since Frost to focus on Cold damage (emphasis focus: some warframes have the odd ability or two that can deal cold damage, but never a full kit).
Narin is styled after cold winds compared to Frost's wall of ice, so she sports less defensive stats in exchange for a higher energy pool and faster sprint speed. I'll be appending her ability kit with the relevant Hangul since it appears they're not all named after charms/trinkets/cultural practices like Koumei's abilities:
  • Her passive gives enemies affected by Cold procs a chance to drop Cold ammo packs on death, potentially letting her keep the team's ammo needs topped up if it's coded right.
  • Her first ability is Neote (너테), sending a barrage of icy rapiers in front of her that inflict maximum cold and puncture stacks, freezing them solid and making them very vulnerable to crits.
  • Her second ability, Naraemagi (날앰악이) siphons any cold procs from enemies to restore shields, overflowing to overguard instead of overshield.
  • Her third ability is Hawk Tuah Hakchum (학춤, this specifically refers to a dance associated with modern-day Busan), where Narin takes to a skies for a short duration before crashing down, leaving an AoE at the crash site that inflicts cold procs and makes enemies more vulnerable to cold damage from any source.
  • Her fourth and final ability is Nurinarim (눌인알임), where she draws out her Iceblade and puts on the ice skates, sliding around in lieu of walking while generating a freezing AoE around her. Certain enemies may be marked, allowing her to throw out icy waves. While she's channeling her 4 she can only cast her 3, and it supposedly requires the player to charge it up with her other abilities like Uriel and Sirius/Orion before her, which some players don't like.
  • They also showcased her signature weapons, the Nunchasa bow (below-average crit chance mitigated by puncture/cold focus, has an alt-fire that looses a special arrow that freezes enemies as it travels and leaves a chilling trail), and the Aksondol dual pistols (also shown during Devshort 116, semi-auto pistols with good crit/status chance, reloading leaves an expanding, icy mist that grows based on the amount of ammo loaded).
With a new warframe comes a new grind, and in a first, it will (literally) take us to the other side of Earth, with Yuvan Peak at the Western Hemisphere. Yuvan Peak will see us meet a familiar face... Cephalon Melica from the Zariman! She has a history with Narin, but unfortunately the Zariman's very close the Void and Wally's up to his old tricks again.
  • We get a new area unlocked on the Zariman: Melica's Labs. Whatever we used to do here is not imporant right now, as a dormant Void connection is threatening to strengthen and Melica has tasked us to keep it down.
  • New to the game are Entropic Eximus units. These Zariman-exclusive variants have been popping up around the ship and are best dealt with either by using your Operator/Drifter... or enhancing your melee weapons with something from the Peak... Entropic Eximus will be our source of Entropic/"Blue" Kuva, the new resource we will use to enhance our rivens with.
  • Entropic Kuva isn't just used for rivens, you can spend it at the Peak for Narin's parts and, most mysteriously, cryobells for Warframe's new gamemode, the six-player Glacial Defiance mission, which can be completed three times a week. Modifiers are spread across the entire team, but we'll see how much of a challenge it is...
  • They showed off Banshee's Threnodia skin and Qorvex's Basilica skin. Qorvex is also coming with a ephemera consisting of three winged eyeballs if you guys like those.
  • Unsurprisingly, Citrine Prime will be coming with the Steflos Prime (which was left out of the original reveal).
  • New TennoGen stuff, including Jade's first TennoGen skin.
Iceblade of Narin drops on September 23, and will also include Citrine Prime, the changes to deep dive modifiers, Banshee's rework, and the riven expansion.

That's all folks.

Why do you LOOK like that?

That's an endo bundle you probably got from the Granum Void. It always trips players up with how rarely it appears.
That would make sense since I finally started messing around with it to get a Tenet Arca Plasmor. Any recommendations for good tenet weapons?
Also I wanted to mention that freeing the Solaris trapped in the void awards a garbage amount of standing. Which makes grinding bounties the only real way of obtaining a good amount of standing. I honestly don't know why they do this since the standing is the main daily engagement mechanism. Why not various ways of getting standing so that way it becomes more engaging. Trading in medallions for standing just seems like a way to avoid having to address how unappealing bounty grinding is. Hell it's become so damn simplified that everything after Deimos play a normal mission with some modifier or do X.

I just recently finished Solaris United (for the worse because they look better with their faces concealed.) and I started playing 3 years ago. I STILL haven't finished the Ostrons, the Cavia, or either of the Amp syndicates. I mean sorry Master Tung Tung Tung Sahur, but the Kavats trying to pincushion me don't give any real value if I shoot them with my tranq gun instead of my actual gun. I would want to engage with fishing, mining and or conservation if they gave actual rewards, like the retriever mods that can double credits, pickups or both (at a lower chance however). The bond, retriever, or only 1 superbuffed element pet mods are nice, but after you get them, there's no reason to ever care about conservation again. For fishing it's just like 160 standing for a non-bait magnificent/large fish and the rarest gemstone only gives 1,000 standing so I'm just going to ignore them and ignore the open worlds because I don't want to do bounties. Bait fish cost standing to get in the first place and at most give you 1,000 standing or for the "Glappid" in the plains that gives you 2,000 when they're large.

Deimos is weird but it suffers from mostly the same issue of the bounty giving you the most tokens, the other tokens are also FUCKING TIME GATED???? WHY??? IT'S NOT LIKE THEY GIVE ANYTHING MORE VALUEABLE COMPARED TO JUST DOING BOUNTIES. IT'S JUST ENCOURAGING YOU TO NOT ENGAGE WITH ANYTHING ELSE EXCEPT FOR BOUNTIES??? And the ONLY reason you would get the various these are for Seriglass Shards for stuff like ranking them up to 5 and for the Quassus, Trumna and the Sepulcrum. Everything else in Grandmother's store is just cosmetic so unless you want some decorations or various parts if the isloation vault bounties as scenes for taking photos or Glyphs of the various Voidtongue symbols.

Any recommendations for good tenet weapons?
Tenet Plasmor's a good choice. Use a Magnetic progenitor frame since that's extra damage for condition overload on top of giving you an edge against Overguard. As for other choices Tenet Cycron is also good (Magnetic again, that's the general best element unless you're dealing with melee weapons, explosives, or certain edge cases), as while it's no Kuva Nukor, it runs on a battery and can easily run Cascadia Flare.

Wow, Pablo was really cooking with the Banshee rework.

Seriously, comparing it to previous retouches and even the release of Narin in the same Devshort, they have to be having a laugh.

  • Her second ability, Naraemagi (날앰악이) siphons any cold procs from enemies to restore shields, overflowing to overguard instead of overshield.

Nice to see pandering to Koreans instead of Chinks for once.

Well her abilities did nothing before(besides silence). Now they do something.
Before this rework, her 2 and her 3 were the only parts of her kit worth using.
After this rework, her 2 and her 3 are the only parts of her kit worth using.
I mean, it's really cool that Silence was updated to no longer root you while you cast it.
Shame Sonar wasn't also updated to not root you in place when you cast it. :lossmanjack:

Didn't you read the workshop? Sonar's being updated so you're not rooted while casting it.
I swear, I read it over three times and didn't see it. So, that's my L. However, that doesn't really change that most of the changes are completely underwhelming to me.
