Well it's good to know I'm in good company.
I definitely feel that the Whispers in the Wall update has been the best in a very long while, though I do have some issues with how they've moved away from the token system of the necralisk. I know that they've moved away from it for a while now, but it's been at my attention again because I was grinding for another xaku after discovering I didn't have one already helminthed. I've also gotten to the point where I don't really know why I'm farming for shards anymore and then realize that we've hit the World of Warcraft effect of grinding for gear to make gear better to grind for more gear. Maybe I haven't really seen the capabilities of the new shards, but it seems like a fairly large investment just to find out.
Oh and the moderation is shit. I know we've been saying that forever but it still bothers the crap out of me that I get slapped with a lifetime ban for a shitty joke in region (until I pulled a "What I do?" and they reduced to 2 weeks, and no, it wasn't Nezha) and stripped me of the weapon names I've had for years. My Railjack was named Coomerwagen and that's bad, but the devs can have "Cum guzzler" with no issue and everyone laughs. I've been able to avoid the jannies for ages but that shit still pisses me off. I also recall that they banned a streamer for doing an incredibly long survival run and have been refusing to unban him despite it all being on video. If nothing else, it's only fueled my disgust for the Canadians.
Correct. They need to take a break from unimaginative new frames and tedious open-world shit and shallow story, and fix some years-old bugs and rework obsolete frames.
While I agree with this, I do appreciate a new faction with their own quirks, even if they don't have the widest spread. What I don't get is DE was bragging about merging an open world with traditional hallways and rooms with the Whispers update but I don't see it. Functionally it's the same as the Zariman: You have a hub and you have missions in hallways. Unless I'm mixing up my updates, that just sounds like engagement bait. Regardless of when it was, there's some very prominent bugs and the shills will forever cry "small indie company" when they've got more money and resources than any one of us can comprehend. I don't know how many issues are because of the engine or issues that stem from early spaghetti code that they're afraid to unravel, but I get the feeling that beside the IP leaking, it's only a matter of time before something else blows.
The TLDR of my complaints is that because I've been keeping up with and playing the updates since Hildryn, I have reached that point where end game is a min-maxing fest and there's nothing really to do but make overpowered weapons and frames even more broken and fundamental issues like changing hosts fucking with the state of the game this far down the line is just inexcusable. I'm sure there's more that irks me, but it's usually those minor things that add up over time.
