Mastery Rank doesn't indicate experience, just the fact that you grinded as much as possible (and maybe as quickly as possible) to unlock every piece of equipment in the game (for reference, MR16 is the last rank requirement for riven mods and unlocks all Tenet weapons for use).

If you want an actual display of experience, check the equipment page of their profile. My most-used secondary is the vanilla Brakk and I haven't touched it in years (this was back when it had no damage falloff, so you could magdump down a hallway and anything would die).
That's at least couple months of playtime to get to 15-20MR, that's enough to develop minimal sense of etiquette and to have the basic knowledge. It's like they do not think or have no compassion for others at all. Yesterday I was doing a bounty on Deimos, then some retard joins and goes on other side of map in a cave, I guess he was mining. I ask him to come help me. No response for few minutes to follow up messages, so I unplugged my ethernet cable to kick him off. He just wanted to leech off my bounty while he was mining 2 km away. The audacity of these people is insane.
Because I'm tired and didn't realize the time.
Or my build is shit and I can't sustain.
I think you're taking it too personally. I don't mind people fucking around and not min-maxing everything but if they consistently leave at first rotation or I have to beg them to not stall the game and they're unresponsive that's too far. That's my common experience with crossplay and it just feels like I'm playing with buggy AI.

That's been an annoyance ever since the open world areas were introduced; if there's not some event ongoing featuring one of those areas or you've queued up to run a specific boss, you're rather likely to find someone doing their own thing while everyone else is doing the bounties. If I'm in those areas I default to friends only because fuck leeches.

Why do they not read chat AT ALL?
This is my biggest problem with crossplayers. It would be one thing if I said something in chat and they just told me to fuck off because they're playing how they want to. But without fail it's some mentally deficient who pops all the the excavators immediately on an arbitration then dies and refuses to reply in chat when you tell them to stop drooling on themselves and pressing w.

During the total lack of content until Five Fates I've been doing some clean up, mostly maxing my kuva weapons and raising my MR. This has forced me into mining, which is slowly driving me insane. In my 2.5k plus hours I have apparently not passively acquired enough xenorhast, embolos. and adramal alloy to make four (FUCKING FOUR) things to get a measly 13k experience to put me slightly closer to MR29. Why is mining so shit? Why do we not have an equivilent to extractors? Why is everything from mining/fishing not available from breakables/bounties? Why do the cortege and morgha use the exact same rare mats? I have so many questions and absolutlely no answers for myself. I am so close to just buying the last little bit I need with plat. I am sorry for rambling, but I feel y'all are the only ones who would understand.

For Deimos you can just run requiem obelisks. Look up a route and you'll be able to hit all the obelisk spawn points in just a few minutes. No more mining or fishing

Also, the Iso-vaults tend to spawn better containers that drop more rare resources, and the odd stack of void traces if you open the vault itself.

Xenorhast and embolos are mining only (as far as I know and the only open world resources that are hard locked to gathering) which is 90% of why I'm losing my mind you only need like 30 total of each if you aren't making duplicates of anything so I sorta understand why they did it that way, but fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Ah crap... at least you can get some from Otak but I feel your pain.

Hello kiwis, im considering getting into warframe, is it new player friendly or will i have to play 60 hours for it to get good?

They keep trying to make the new player experience better but there’s a reason the wiki rapidly becomes your best friend. Stuff has changed a lot since I was a wee Tenno. The playerbase are mostly very helpful and friendly.

However, I was completely new to anything like this, had my camera spinning for 30 mins til I got to grips with it and couldn’t hit a mob with anything projectile for ages (I don’t play shooters as I suck at them, I had just seen it and thought it looked nice). I’m not ‘fessing my hours played but I did learn to shoot stuff eventually.

A lot of the game's fun revolves around grinding and unlocking new stuff similarly to Runescape. You will have to download it yourself and decide if you like it. Here's a good video for a new player:

My new player experience was in 2016 so I have no idea how it compares to today, but there is one key difference between back then and now. When I started I quickly ran into a lack of equipment slots, so I ended up doing a lot of grinding for items to sell for platinum to buy more slots (now I just sell sculptures every now and then because everyone always needs endo (exp)), but now Nightwave exists with the weekly missions that occasionally gives you slots for free. Comparing various game systems that have changed over the years I can say that more of the game is far more intuitive now than it used to be though the grind remains eternal.

Basically what everyone else said, however I think the biggest detriment to the new player experience is all the youtube noob traps.

What I would recommend when you start out is:
Always have a weapon/warframe building just as a time saving measure (you can buy the blueprints from the market without premium currency)
When a weapon gets to rank 30 switch it out for a new unranked weapon (Stuff is locked behind mastery rank and you level that up by ranking up weapons/frames)
Just progress through the star chart mission and do quests when you get them
Don't focus to much on any of the open world stuff until later
Don't buy plat/regal aya until steel path, so you're not wasting it on useless stuff like warframes.
The warframe wiki and warframe.market are your best friends.

I personally hate the new player experience in warframe, but the game is really great. My suggestion is to try to get to MR 7 or 10 as fast as possible because that unlocks a lot of the really cool weapons. Play online all the time and you'll basically get carried by people doing low level missions which is super helpful when you're starting out and trying to learn missions/movement. The biggest barrier to entry for me is the build times, forma, and bad weapons so if you can deal with that for a bit you'll have a lot of fun.

EDIT: Also if you do start and have any questions just ask us. We'll all give you different answers and probably argue about it it for a few posts, but I think we would all enjoy another non braindead player to offset the Destiny influx.
Double edit: DE has been working on a bunch of quality of life improvements over the past year and the next update will apparently have a lot of new player specific QoL improvements.

Ah appreciate it. Is just that there's so much stuff and it can be overwhelming, so if the game can ease me into it, i dont mind the grind or the core loop.

There is a lot of stuff to unlock and work on, but a lot of it is going to be gated off until you complete certain quests, obtain enough Mastery Rank, or progress far enough on the Star Chart to have access to those missions/open worlds. By the time you've unlocked enough things to work on that could overwhelm you, you should have a decent idea of what you want to work on at that point.

So in a totally random bit of luck if you do start, you're just in time for Brozime's new FTPlaythrough. He basically starts the series as a new player and gives an in depth tutorial. The first video is out already, but I'm not sure about the release schedule.

I haven't played this in years. I think I got fed up after I spent 2 hours mining on Earth only for the game to crash and cause me to lose all the junk I collected.

That's kind of surprising; I've seen Warframe break, bug out, glitch, lag out and basically become unplayable or missions become impossible in quite a variety of ways but I don't recall ever seeing the game crash. Despite all the things that often go horribly wrong when there's a fresh big update the game engine generally just keeps on trucking, for me at least.

Ok so there is a lot of stuff and it might feel overwhelming at times. I took a very long break and loads of stuff had changed, slightly different perspective but might help as it’s what I did. Do the intro stuff then if it gives you choices, pick one that seems interesting and focus on it for a bit. Don’t try and do a bit of everything as you’ll go crazy.

When you can get hold of Octavia/Octavia Prime. Thank me later.

Best one I saw was when they fucked Octavia and it crashed the game every time you went into a mission. Twats broke one of my baes.

I think you can still fall through the map on Deimos in the vaults. Been in a while that one.
