Warframe

These days, you don't need to "sneak up" on Conservation targets. You take a max range Equinox, turn on highlight allies so they glow like federal agents, and fly around in Archwing until you see a pack of whatever. If you're actually tracking them just to max out standing, you're honestly wasting your time.
Tbf, this was long before highlighting allies was a thing, and the rare animal variants can only spawn with pheromones last I remember...

Instead of trying to kneecap us, they should just add more enemies that counter survival tactics. More toxin, more magnetic. Add some enemies like the manics that will try to sneak up on you and skull fuck you. The difficulty should come from pitting what we've got against what enemies can do, not from the game stealing mod space out of my build.

You know what really pissed me off about the possible Hildryn nerf? It took fucking months of constant complaining for DE to even acknowledge that Balefire had an issue with not damaging Arctic globes. But some transient on Twitter can complain about his shitty loadout not getting enough kills and that's all it takes for rumbling about nerfing a Warframe over a singular fucking gamemode.

Not quite. Pheromones just remove the chance for commons.

Probably because Pablo stares at player usage spreadsheets all day and doesn't rush to fix issues with the frame when people are playing the fuck out of it despite whatever issues it might have, and is eager to slap a nerf if there's an excuse to do it. We don't know if they'll nerf her, though. If Scott was still in charge of balance I'd have no doubt, but current DE is more cognizant of player sentiment.

The fuck? Why is hildrin so used in ETA? I had her in the trashbin since release, did they buff her or something?
She's been one of the top used frames since she got her balefire augment. Then the added arcane slots to exalted weapons only made it even stronger. The main reason is that she can nuke the fuck out of everything around her without LoS checks. Someone on twitter called that out and Pablo mused that she probably should check for LoS with balefire.

She can basically ignore every single modifier and actually kill things with Balefire thanks to Aegis Gale and Secondary Enervate.

Even if they add LoS checks (which have been very janky as the Sonion Rings have shown), it's just going to make her feel worse to play. It's not going to do anything to solve the actual issue of personal modifiers being fucking terrible and weapon rolls basically punishing veterans to keep a while arsenal. For those not aware, the game will always pick at least one weapon you have in your arsenal as a roll. People are still going to use Hildryn to ignore all the modifiers, just with the added "fun" of her Balefire doing fucking nothing sometimes.

They could just punish you by taking a reward for not taking the suggest warframe. Im not really empathetic to the modifiers since you can always just turn the worst one off and get all the tau rolls. Its not like you can just stick a couple forma in whatever weapons you get and be fine.

Again, like nerfing Hildryn, is just treating the symptom. Never mind that no amount of Forma is going to make the Kesheg into ETA. Do you even know what the Kesheg is without looking it up? Hell, you might be thinking of the Broken Scepter. Oh, you got the Acceltra? Enjoy your -75% ammo pickup, champ. Go get 'em!

Oh yeah, there's also the bug (?) that shuffles your loadouts if you claim a new items from the foundry.

Funny, I knew what the Kesheg was without looking it up, I put a bunch of forma into it to pair with the javlok because having 2 spears (or glaive whatever fuck you, you get what I mean) looked cool on your back.

It's crazy how we do not have the ability to kick retards off the pilot seat of MY OWN Railjack.
Man, be lucky if you can get your own Railjack when loading into public missions. Seriously, why the fuck did I bother to put forma, endo, and resources into the fucking thing if there's a chance I'm going to be stuck with some random's unmodded shitbox of a ship?

I host public SP so that it has a decent retard warding barrier but its still so fucking bad.

Looks like Hildryn isn't going to get taken out back for Pablo's ETA/EDA sins.

If I were in charge of tweaking it, the first thing I would do is reduce the values of some of personal modifiers and make them additive with mods, assuming I had to keep them. The second thing I would do, and this might sound weird, is make it work like the Daggerfall (Dis)Advantages system where you didn't have to use the disadvantages provided, but doing so makes it easier in some way. Basically, if you don't choose the rolled Warframes, you'd need a modifier to balance it out. Obviously, this is a very, very, very rough idea.

Well, today's Devshort is the closest we'll get to a devstream until September, so I'm listing what Megan and Pablo discussed:
  • Addressing one elephant in the room: Rebecca's recovering from her surgery well.
  • As promised, Hildryn will not be getting nerfed in response to her popularity in deep dives. Instead they'll be adjusting how the modifiers work:
    • Selecting a Warframe from the parameter pool will now give three points, letting you skip two personal modifiers.
    • Modifiers will now be categorized with a one-per-category restriction, to mitigate back-to-back(-to-back) combinations that screw over most Warframes (energy-based modifiers were given as an example).
    • To actually make the loadout parameters more enticing to use, they'll be getting buffs similar to Arbitrations/Archon Hunts. Hopefully they're meaningful buffs rather than the generic Strength/Health/Damage setup, but at least this means you don't have to pray to RNGsus that the Helminth's being generous this week.
    • They'll be adding 6-7 new modifiers, one of which puts a cap on your maximum shields.
  • They're aware that they overtuned Sirius's Jade Stars ability, especially as a subsume for AFK builds, so now it's getting a LoS nerf. In exchange, Celestial Clash will trigger additional Heat/Slash damage with a guaranteed proc, depending on which twin took a swing.
  • As for schedules for all announced changes: August will see Amir's Nightwave season, Dog Days, the Jade Stars nerf, Baruuk's new deluxe, and additional Signa axes, with the deep dive changes following later.
