We should have had a Blackstone Fortress game tbh. There is enough meat on the bones there for a good RPG.

Likewise for any number of things within the scope of 30K/40K. The Unification Wars, Age of Apostacy, any of the crusades (the Macharian Crusade would make for a good 4x game, for example) etc. Nope. Why do that when you can sell the IP to the highest bidder and have them shit out mobile card games and mid "strategy" games.
Well RT is the Blackstone Fortress game as a few of the companions are almost 1:1 the character models from the game, two of the RT portraits are the RT model and the Priest model and the default noble look is again, the RT model from the game.

Even dlc 4 sounds like the premise of the board game, on a space hulk with a companion who’s been changed by the environment. SHOW ME ZOAT!

I do agree that the mobile slop is really egregious, at least the stupid HH card one is a source of great art.

To get the gods interested enough to select him as their champion/avatar/joint-fleshlight he poured a few extra drops of his "special Primarch juice" into Sanguinius's test tube relative to the others, which explains why he has Mary-Sue "kick the shit out of literally every other Primarch" strength and also why he has such charm and charisma even the Traitor Primarchs wont shut the fuck up about how much they respect him and want to caress his sparkly angel balls, and indeed why Horus (who loudly declared unprompted on several occasions that Sanguinius should have been warmaster guiz) was accurately worried that the gods were planning on replacing him as Big Heresy Nigga with Sanguinius the moment they corrupted him because of how much all four of the gods wanted a piece of his feathery ass to the point they were even willing to share.
Horus sobbed over the fact it should have been Sanguinius because Sanguinius had the humanity and compassion Horus lacked. But IMO it was always going to be Horus for one simple reason: he represented the Emperor's ambition and strength of will. Horus had not just the capability or even willingness to impose his will on an entire galaxy but the need to do so, which given the task before him was the most vital part of being Warmaster, and something the rest of them lacked. To everyone else subjugation, obedience, and compliance were a means to an end or something they plain didn't give a shit about, but to him it was the end itself.
Some were obviously sacrificial lambs but I imagine Malcador getting that very funny report back from that guy who walked in on Fulgrim’s nude art show and Malcador just went, “Yikes, oof, is the chinaman still on our side?”
Fulgrim was always broken goods though. Everyone else had done their fair share of warmongering, fighting, or killing before he was found and he had grown up as a factory worker and later on an administrator. The only things he had conquered were poverty, deprivation, and hunger, and yet his Legion had one of the finest records of service despite their ongoing mutation problem. And seeing what his Legion and his brothers had done compared to what he had done absolutely traumatized him and left him with a giant inferiority complex.
I don't disagree with the rest of your post but on what planet is the giga enhanced 9 ft tall murder beast who ripped demons apart with his bare hands a twink? The r34 erotica galaxy?

If it wasn't for Fulgrim being stereotypically white-haired I would call it a toss-up. Like shit, even when carrying the freshly torn-off head of a Keeper of Secrets he's still magnificent as fuck.

Are all the Total War games worth playing or should I just dive straight into the third one?
The third one is really the only one worth getting, but all of the additional packs for all of the units is going to cost you like 400 bucks 100 on sale Don't blame GW. This has always been told a wars business model. Sadly, since Rome 2

Or just pirate it because literally there's no point in playing multiplayer unless you have a good 30 hours to waste on a game. And there's always that one guy who is spamming the most overpowered units. I'm that guy by the way.

It is also important to mention he was canonically anally raped by his sons who also stuck one of these up his ass as part of a group therapy session as shown by the following excerpts from one of the novels
...Marius followed Lucius’s example and selected an instrument of torture from the collection of devices Fabius had laid out. He turned the pear-shaped device around in his hands, twisting a metal cog handle that gradually spread the leaves of the pear apart. Satisfied, he returned it to its original shape and moved down the gurney to place the device between the primarch’s legs. ‘We come from Terra,’ said Marius. ‘Is that what you mean?’ Fulgrim smiled indulgently and said, ‘No, Marius. Further back than that. As far back as it is possible to go.’ Marius shrugged and worked his device into position with a series of grunts...

....‘Your positioning of the Swadhisthana chakra needle is slightly off, Julius. Perhaps due to the intrusion of Marius’s implement. A little higher might be better.’....

...‘None of this coming together is random,’ explained Fulgrim. ‘It is all part of the universe’s nature, its tendency towards complexity. Ah… yes, that is most exquisite, Marius, another turn of the screw!...

...Heat radiated along the silver needles jutting from his body, and his pelvis was bent up at an unnatural angle by the expansion of the macabre device of Marius....

...Fulgrim kicked Marius away and tore loose the opened device the Third Captain had worked upon with a sigh of regret. It fell to the floor of the Apothecarion with a wet clatter, and rolled like a viscous flower of red-stained iron. "A pity,’ said Fulgrim. ‘I was beginning to enjoy that.’...
Ok it's not that important to mention but I felt it necessary regardless

EDIT: After googling "fulgrim" and "pear" to get the text for this I found this art

Turns out there is an entire subreddit dedicated to femboy/troonified primarch art. I also felt it necessary to inform you of this.

@Judge Holden The really funny part of that short story is Lucius being the only one in his legion to go, “What the fuck is happening here? He just killed Eidolon for nothing!”

And the detail that the ship is pretty much a prison yard with gangs/warbands taking “territory” and there being “no-go” zones.

They’re so damn stupid and incompetent, it makes the “shocking stuff” completely wash off and comes across like nothing.

View attachment 7397880So the team behind the Dawn of war remaster has a Bluesky account, when will they learn that No one uses that echo chamber of a app?
Part of me is happy about this "remaster", since it will bring the much needed stability to the modding community - FINALLY Apocalypse will be stable enough to field a Titan Maniple, or Angron with his entourage, in a single match, without the game shitting itself. On the other hand, i have a baaaaad feeling they will try to charge something like 60 bucks for this and people will buy it wholesale - reinforcing this retarded trend of selling the same game twice, for full price. And something tells me they won't offer a free copy to the people, who have the Ultimate edition in their Steam library.

Assuming the whole "Emperor tried to rig the inevitable Heresy in his favour" thing thats been kinda-sorta confirmed maybe in the books is legit, then I would divide the Primarchs into three camps.
nah. Pretty sure he knew that the heresy was going to happen (or planned for some sort of betrayal) but didn't have the details on who was going to fall which way, beyond the obviously broken ones like Angron. Hell Curze was only totally gone after Sanguinius shot him out of an airlock instead of taking him back to Terra as the Emperor wanted, so the he could fix his broken mind. Magnus he needed to be loyal and was royally fucked when Horus tampered with the orders. Ferrus and Guilliman were both 100% loyal. None of them needed a "shut the fuck up" after meeting him. They were in it from the get-go. I think somewhere it says they expected one of Fulgrim OR Jaghatei to turn to chaos, so that works.

Sanguinius OTOH, is the literal angel, golden child, the alternative to Horus as warmaster.

It's pretty clear from the shitshow that is the heresy that he really didn't know what the fuck was going on with his demigod generals, which is much more in character for him as a completely incompetent administrator and dad.

Can't wait to play as Judge Dredd Arbites in Darktide.

Super disappointed that we can't get any more Space Marine 2 content than some mode, which looks fun.... but God damn give me new weapons, new class, new skills, give me chaos in operations. Give me 30k Iron Warriors cosmetics.
Like God damn there is so much to add that I know we aren't going to get any of it before they just drop SM2 for SM3 and the cycle will start over.

Also hyped for Dark Heresy. I like Rogue Trader a lot, but its not my 40k vibe.

Tech marine is the new SM2 class, new TS enemy is the Chaos Spawn, Horde mode is Gears of War inspired and the new operation is on the ship and it’s repelling a boarding party. Grav cannon and the chad power AXE are the next weapons. Apparently the Tech Marine’s ability revolves around his shoulder-mounted bolter.

I was personally suprised that the Imperial Fist skin was very HH-inspired and didn’t have any bits from their shitty Primaris upgrade sprue.

This is all rumored, the issue is the horde mode has summonable minions and now it's thought the Tech Marine will be a summon. There was also no more data mined other than the shoulder bolter, which unfortunately probably means it's a minion ability and not a class.
The power axe coming is good, but again, the announcement didn't include anything other than horde mode. Which even if all this data mined stuff is coming, might mean it's coming in another 4 months.

I guess my biggest issue is modding is adding stuff like gangbusters, but I want official shit and it feels like they are really slowing down their cadence.

I have my own theory that they had no plans on additional characters and humouring the calls for an apothecary pretty much has got them doing something they had no intention of doing because now people will be pissed if they say they aren’t going to add additional characters.

No idea why they didn’t just do the Chaplain since the model is already made and you know his ability would just be speaking the word and buffing everyone. Seems easier than Apothecary or Tech Support.

They really hurt themselves focusing on the difficulty fags at launch and not just doing an expansion pack, they can’t keep up with the drip feed. That Astartes mod is kicking their ass and they know it.

I’m kind of pumped for the Dark Heresy game but I know I’m going to be disappointed how it won’t live up my current Dark Heresy game sessions where the group is cohesive enough to constantly outsmart and frustrate the DM as we repeatedly undermine all his plans in ways he never thought coming with some good rolls to back us up. At least I know I from Rogue Trader I can execute all filthy xenos.

If Geedubs has any brains, they’ll stop hiding cool generic Inquisitors behind store anniversaries and that “streaming service” nobody signs up for. A “build an inquisitor” kit like the old Space Marine commander kit would be a fantastic tie-in. Literally advertise it as “Continue your quest” and watch it move “Agents of the Imperium” kits.

I hope we get a daemonhost companion/can make one, the Daemonette GF companion was cut from RT and that’s fucking unacceptable and discriminatory to boot. Daemon characters who aren’t just there to job are usually pretty great, Raum, The Exalted, Clarion, Tormageddon (dumb name aside), the Word Bearer trilogy Pokemon, Skraivok’s pimp and even the one from Eisenhorn were all solid.

You must be excited no? I mean given the nature of the NL, there’ll definitely be one who throws his lot in with the protag and is obviously the secret companion.

Dawn of War 1 Definitive is definitely the highlight of the announcements in my opinion. Everything else is either mobile slop or just a bit of DLC. I'm glad it's not a total remake of the game either so it promises to be compatible with current mods. Hopefully the upgrades will make apocalypse mod crash less often, but I'm not holding my breath. I hope the "improved camera" means you can finally zoom out by default instead of only being able to see one unit of space marines at a time. It also promises mod management in-game which would be nice. Not that DoW Mod Manager is a hassle to use, but it is nice to have it officially supported. I'll take one less program I need to make it run. Plus it'll be nice to consolidate everything under one game instead of being split per expansion. Though I will say, I was hoping for more word on matchmaking improvements. Maybe they would rework the lobby system, maybe announce match making or something. It could be that kind of overhaul would've been too difficult to work in while keeping everything else mod compatible. I don't know. I'm still pleased that it'll at least run properly on modern systems out of the box.

Horde mode looks meh at best. The cosmetic dlc is dogwater for the Blood Angels as well. A fucking monocle helmet, a shoulder, and a couple chests where it looks like one is for the heavy only? Oh and white scars Assault champ and not BA? Whack.
And once again I'm left confused over the shallow selection of successor chapters. They could have just crammed these chapter packs full of these easy as fuck to make colors and badges, churned them out monthly or bi-monthly and used that easy money to funnel into armor pieces, more involved missions, new classes etc. But nah, modders will handle that and the "community" will run defense and blame GW, just like they do for every other nonsensical design choice Saber makes with the game. Shame there's nothing else that scratches this particular itch. The authentic Warhammer Experience™️
They really hurt themselves focusing on the difficulty fags at launch
At launch? They focused on the difficulty fags up until like patch/update 6.0. So much so it trickled down to every other difficulty. Current Average feels like pre 5.0 ruthless if not harder which is wild. They spent months trying to appease a small fraction of players who can never be properly challenged.
